C10 The Beast King Cub!

Room No. 1

Kong Lingyue narrowed her eyes: "Finally, he's arrived..."

Room No. 3

Lin Yih continued to caress his beloved straight knife, glancing up at the black cloth with a puzzled expression.

"How odd. Why can't I figure out what's behind this black cloth?"

Room No. 7

The man with green eyes made a phone call: "I'm running low on cash. Send more..."

Hisss!

A raspy voice came through the phone: "Green Eye, don't forget your mission!"

Green Eye smirked: "I've had it for a while."

"Oh?"...

Eventually, Green Eye secured the one million fee.

But just before hanging up, he couldn't help but grumble under his breath.

"Such penny-pinching!"

"You..."

Over by Mike

As the black cloth was removed from the cage, a snarling little tiger was revealed to the crowd.

"A Sharp Tiger Beast?"

"This looks so familiar, doesn't it?"

"It's adorable!"

"A Flame Tiger? Impossible..."

The chatter from the crowd was incessant, all centered around the little tiger.

"Ahem!"

Mike cleared his throat, silencing the commotion.

"Some of you may have guessed the origins of this Pet Beast we're about to auction. It may seem hard to believe, but this little tiger is indeed the offspring of the Flame Tiger."

Boom!

Mike's announcement resonated deeply with the audience.

While many, like Lin Yih, had come to the auction upon hearing the news, they were still a minority compared to the packed crowd.

Room No. 3

Lin Yih was momentarily lost in thought.

"Could this be the Beast King's cub?"

Description: The Red Leaf Forest Beast King's descendant. Inherits its progenitor's talents perfectly, possessing formidable offensive capabilities and a natural ability to lead other beasts. Highly recommended for its exceptional aptitude.

"Wow!" This aptitude is off the charts!

If a Beast King's cub that hasn't even grown all its teeth is this powerful, imagine how impressive the Beast King Flame Tiger's attributes must be.

Lin Yih reviewed the panel information: Youngling (Flame Tiger) — (Mutated Evolution) — Beast King (Flame Tiger)

Goodness gracious! Mutated Evolution!

According to Lin Yih's recent research, Mutated Evolution is an extraordinary evolution achieved through rare treasures and serendipitous events, rather than the usual evolutionary paths.

Moreover, the attributes of a Pet Beast that undergoes Mutated Evolution are unpredictable. You can't tell if it will evolve for better or worse.

But clearly, the Flame Tiger's Mutated Evolution was a favorable one.

And so, Lin Yih was intrigued...

But he wasn't the only one.

"The opening bid is five hundred thousand! Each subsequent bid must increase by at least twenty thousand!"

In Room No. 3, Lin Yih, with only two hundred and ten thousand to his name, was immediately out of the running.

"So pricey! But it seems worth it!" That was Lin Yih's thought, shared by many others.

As the crowd was still processing, the first bid was placed.

Room No. 2: "Six hundred thousand!"

The voice was youthful and feminine.

As Room No. 2 lit up, everyone had their suspicions.

"Seven hundred thousand!"

Kong Lingyue in Room No. 1 slowly entered her bid.

"Eight hundred thousand!" Green Eye in Room No. 7 was not to be outdone.

"One million!"

A new room joined the fray — Room No. 9!

In Room No. 2:

Hai Dafu, the rotund man, and his girlfriend Zhong Qin were locked in an embrace.

In a cheesy tone, Hai Dafu offered, "Qin'er, what if I win this as an engagement gift for you?"

What a gesture! To casually offer such a highly-qualified Pet Beast.

"No thanks! My Rock Monster is just as good."

Room No. 9

A beautiful woman in white, a silver fox perched on her shoulder, whispered to herself, "Just a backwater like Red Leaf Town, and yet it's full of the wealthy?"

"Room No. 7 bids one and a half million! Any higher offers?" Mike called out energetically.

Sold, and sold again!

Green Eye in Room No. 7 sighed, his last bit of savings on the line.

"Two million!"

The crowd inhaled sharply. Is this what it means to be rich? Bidding up by half a million each time!

Poverty truly limits our imagination...

"Two million for the first time!"

"Two million for the second..."

Mine, all mine...

Green Eye in Room No. 7 listened to Mike's voice, his nerves so taut he forgot to breathe.

But reality can be harsh.

"Three million!" The fat man in Room No. 2 slowly placed his bid.

As the wealthiest family in Red Leaf Town, three million was a hefty sum, but not beyond their means.

Yet, claiming the Beast King's cub was another story—practically out of the question.

The auctioneer, well aware of the stakes, knew the event had attracted numerous affluent and influential families from afar.

Take Room No. 1, for instance!

The very existence of Room No. 1 was to accommodate VIPs from the likes of the imperial city.

Even the fat man was in the dark about the identity of the woman in Room No. 1. All he knew was that his father would become evasive and mumble incoherently whenever the topic came up at home.

And sure enough!

From Room No. 1: "Four million!"

Just as the fat man was gearing up to counter, Room No. 9 beat him to the punch.

"Four million and ten thousand!"

A mere ten-thousand-dollar increment seemed paltry compared to the million-dollar raises of the others.

But the lady in Room No. 9 was at her wits' end. Who would have thought a remote little town like this could boast so many wealthy individuals? With bids soaring by the millions, she was out of options.

Moreover, she was out of cash—this was her final act of defiance.

"Cough, cough. Four million two hundred thousand!" The fat man hesitated, then modestly upped his bid.

"Little Fatty, losing your touch? Five million two hundred thousand!"

Kong Lingyue threw down an additional million with a taunting edge.

From Room No. 2:

"Damn it!" The fat man was seething. This woman had been a thorn in his side since her arrival in Red Leaf Town, and he was fed up.

"Seven million!" he barked out his bid with venom.

Kong Lingyue in Room No. 1 just chuckled.

"Eight million!"

"Nine million!"

They sparred with their bids, tossing around figures as if money meant nothing.

Lin Yih and the rest simply watched, silently taking a back seat.

Finally, Kong Lingyue declared, "Let's go for a lucky number—nine million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand!"

The fat man was on the verge of bidding again when Kong Lingyue's cool voice reached his ears: "Don't bother bidding. You won't outbid me."
