C9 NINE

I used to sing to get rid of my loneliness within the four walls of the orphanage. My friends and madams were my audiences in the orphanage. So little by little my love for the music had awoken. So I thought I would sing in college play. I have also thought about which song I will sing in the audition. Trisha will help her sister to direct the drama. I went to the auditorium room for the audition with Dev and Trisha.

There seems to be a fair of songs and melodies all around. The mob of participants filled the hall. Groups of different arts performing dance songs had made the room lively. Participants are auditioning on one side of the room. Trisha's sister and Tanushree were auditioning them. Tanushree was also raging the freshers a bit. She, again and again, took little mistakes of them to exclude them. Anyway, I enrolled on my name. One by one the names of the participants started to be called. My name finally came. The steam of a little fear in my mind seemed to obscure the philosophy of action. Yet I brought it under control. I had already decided what song to sing. The Titanic's theme song 'My Heart Will Go On. When I got up on stage and took the mic in hand and started singing, the weather around me suddenly calmed down. Dev and Trisha clapped loudly. I understand that Piyali was also satisfied with my performance. But, suddenly a danger happened at that time.

Police in red turbans entered through the door. The lively auditorium filled with the surrounding melodies turned into a lifeless desert in an instant.

"Who is Tia Singhania here? There are charges of drug trafficking against her," they said.

"Sir, I am Tia, but I do not understand what you are saying," I replied to them.

"All criminals say this one thing. Eat the air of jail for a while then you will understand. Arrest her constable," he said.

"Hey sir you may have made a mistake somewhere. Tia is not such a girl. Hey, Seto is new here. How can he do all this? You ask everyone here, everyone will say the same thing" Dev said.

"See Prince Dev, you stay away from all this. Your father is a respected person you will not help these criminals," The police officer replied.

"Hey Sir I know Tia very well, she can't do that. You check your source a little bit," said Trisha.

"Miss Sahu, you stay away from this matter. Your father is an influential person in this city. Think of his honour," he shouted.

Eventually, the police officer brought me without hearing anyone.

I was very scared and anxious due to various questions and threats. I was completely broken from my mind. Who knows why my fate was suddenly ruined without any guilt.

How long have you been doing this? Who else is with you? How did you cross the border? Where did you hide the drug? All these questions and the fear of being imprisoned all together was seemed to be like a disaster. Suddenly, the madam Warden of the hostel cut my disaster at that time. With her, the two of my seniors, who entered my room that day. This time I realized what had happened. Since I complained in their name, they have complained to the police about false charges against me for revenge. My mind was burning with anger towards them but my heart was also full of the joy of getting out of jail.

At that time another shock came into my life. When I came out of the police station, I saw Trisha standing to welcome me. I couldn't express how happy my mind was to see him. But after that seeing the man who came with Trisha, my head seemed to turn, as if someone was hitting me on the head with thousand hammers. My knowledge and consciousness began to disappear. Yes, he was Abhishek, who insulted me today in front of everyone. I was completely bitter with anger towards him but I don't know why he suddenly came forward to help me or came to welcome me with Trisha.

"Listen, Tia, Abhishek has helped us a lot today. My father and Abhishek's father were very good friends. When I go to tell Dad about your arrest, I see Abhishek and Dad talking in the living room. Then when I told them about you, my father was coming but Abhishek himself came. Then we talked to the hostel warden and found out the real thing. And then she checked their room and found the Drugpackets under the bed. Then you knew the rest. If you need someone to thank for your discount, he is Abhishek," Trisha said.

I didn't understand what to say first after listening to everything. I was so angry at Abhishek for being ignoring me but he saved me from danger not once but twice. The first time from the ditch and the second time today. I was very grateful to him.
