C35 It Is Fascinating to Study Hard
At eleven-thirty, William Walton finished his work and went to the window to smoke.
When he looked down, he saw that the lawn outside Laura Green's room was illuminated by the light from her room.
He tilted his head and looked at the time on the wall. It was already so late. Was she still awake, or was Benjamin still there?
After some hesitation, he put out the cigarette and went downstairs to Laura Green's room.
He knocked on the door. There was no one inside.
He put his hand on the doorknob and gave it a gentle push. The door was unlocked.
He looked into the room and saw that Benjamin wasn't there.
Instead, she was lying on the bed with her headphones on, one hand holding the book, the other holding the pen, nibbling on the tip of the pen while she wrote something in the book.
The hair at the side of her forehead, along with her gentle movements, would occasionally flutter around her ears.
He smiled seductively. This girl who was seriously reading was truly beautiful.
She did not notice him as he entered the room.
He came to the bed and looked down at her textbook.
She was solving a difficult high-level math problem.
He stood there for two minutes, and she finally solved the problem.
She pursed her lips into a smile, rolled over, and was about to stretch when she saw a person standing next to the bed.
Before she could see who it was, she screamed and rolled quickly to the other side of the bed.
It looked like she was about to fall under the bed.
William Walton quickly jumped on the bed and grabbed her.
She took a deep breath and put half of her head in his arms. She looked at him and said, "You... Why are you here? "
William Walton tilted his head and smiled. "This is your catchphrase."
His handsome appearance caused her heart to tremble.
Thinking about it this way, last time she had been drunk and pounced on him, it hadn't been a loss.
After all, not only was he rich, he also had a handsome appearance.
Calculating. She had won.
"Did I scare you?"
Laura Green snapped out of her reverie and hurriedly sat up in his arms. She shrank back from the bed and took off the headset in her ear.
"How can I not be scared when there's someone standing by the bed in the middle of the night?" She frowned. "Mr. Walton, do you not even knock on the door when you enter someone else's room?"
"I knocked on the door. You didn't hear me."
She picked up her headphones and naturally shook them. "I was listening to spoken English, so I didn't hear anything."
He raised his eyebrows and said, "Listening to English and doing high math, you really are such a strange person. Don't you think that you're distracting yourself by doing this?"
"Yes, but in real life, who can concentrate on something without being disturbed?"
"So, you are deliberately training yourself to do two things at once."
She did not answer, but instead asked, "Is there something that you want to talk to me about?"
"Don't worry, I saw the light in your room upstairs still on. I knew you weren't asleep, so I came down to see if Benjamin was still studying."
"Benjamin left at 9 o'clock."
William Walton picked up her book and flipped through it.
She was embarrassed that they were just sitting on the bed and talking.
She was thinking about getting out of bed, or driving him out on the pretext of resting. He suddenly opened his mouth.
"Didn't anyone tell you before? You look very charming when you study."
Her face was slightly red. To suddenly get praised like this, she did feel a bit … She couldn't bear it.
She shook her head. "No."
"Looks like I'm the first one. You like math?" He turned the pages and glanced at her.
She nodded. "Yes."
"The book you bought is the summary of the problems with high numbers over the years. There are some questions in this book that even your teacher would find difficult. "
She scratched her forehead: "This, Mr. Walton, time …"
"Why didn't you do this question?"
He pointed to one of the questions she had vacated.
She looked at it and shrugged. "I can't solve this problem."
"I can, do you want me to teach you?"
She nodded repeatedly.
William Walton patted the seat beside him, "Come here."
She spun around and sat next to him.
He placed the book on his lap, picked up the pen she had been nibbling on, and began to teach her how to solve problems.
William Walton gave her a solution in only a few minutes.
She was suddenly enlightened on the side.
He handed her the pen. "Count it out for yourself."
She sat up straight and took the book and pen. According to the method he taught her, she soon got her answer.
She smiled in surprise and turned her head to look at him: "Mr. Walton, so you're this strong."
William Walton raised his eyebrows proudly: "Being able to do 80% of the questions in this book, you are already very amazing."
She pursed her lips. "Why do I feel like you're indirectly praising yourself?"
He proudly said, "I have the qualifications. If you have anything that you don't know, you can ask me."
"Then... Can you explain this to me? "
William Walton glanced at it and quickly explained his thoughts to her.
He spoke earnestly, and she listened earnestly.
"..."
Early in the morning, her alarm clock rang. She was sleeping soundly. She wanted to turn around and touch her phone, but she found that someone was wrapped around her waist.
Behind her, a warm body pressed against her.
Her mind buzzed as she realized something.
Right at this time, William Walton's voice sounded behind his head: "Didn't you turn off the alarm clock? "Very noisy."
Laura Green suddenly sat up and turned around to look at him.
William Walton's lazy gaze fell on her face, "Good morning."
"Morning. Good morning." She blushed and looked away.
She was crazy. Last night he had taught her the last question and she had finished it and wanted to show it to him, only to find that he had fallen asleep in her bed.
She looked at him and thought he looked strangely handsome as he slept.
She had thought at the time, God is so unfair, beautiful people, even sleeping is like art.
She had meant to wake him up after a few furtive glances and let him go back.
But somehow, she too had fallen asleep.
Later, why did the two of them sleep at the foot of the bed? She really didn't know anything about it.
William Walton pointed in the direction of her cell phone.
She rushed over, picked up her cell phone, and turned off the alarm.
He sat up and stretched. "This is the first time I've fallen asleep because of my studies. It seems that the enthusiasm you have for your studies is very contagious."
She scratched her forehead. "About that, last night. Thank you."
He smiled and got down from the bed. He walked towards the door and said, "If it wasn't for me, you would have fallen to the ground. I'll accept your thanks."
She blushed a little as he opened the door and went out. That wasn't what she wanted to thank him for.
William Walton went out of the door. Butler Tong and the others were surprised to see him coming out of that room.
Everyone hurriedly greeted each other. William Walton was in a good mood as he said, "Go and busy yourselves."
He went upstairs.
He had woken up in the middle of the night to find her sleeping at the foot of the bed like a meek cat.
He wanted to carry her back to the bed, but she rolled over to the end of the bed.
Immediately, he laid at the end of the bed, blocking her path.
She rolled over and snuggled into his arms.
He took her in his arms and decided, in that instant, that he would not leave tonight.
And for the first time, he found it nice to spend the night in the same bed with a woman.
