C20 Crossing the World of First Tribulation!
"How can this be acceptable?" Bai Ling'er was the first to voice her objection: "You are the Son of the Heaven Sect, with a revered status. It should be us covering for you to escape, not you staying behind to distract the enemy for us."
The other disciples of the Heaven Sect didn't share her sentiment. They were desperate to safely return to the Heaven Sect as soon as possible, knowing that staying with Yuwen Tian would only bring danger.
"No more discussion. My mind is made up; this is what we're going to do," Yuwen Tian declared decisively. "While those people haven't arrived yet, you must leave quickly."
"Yes, Son of Heaven," responded all the disciples, except for Bai Ling'er. This included Yang Dingtian and He Xiangwen, who promptly departed, not daring to linger a moment longer.
"Bai Ling'er, why haven't you left yet?" Yuwen Tian inquired.
"I won't go. I want to stand with you in battle," Bai Ling'er asserted with determination.
Yuwen Tian replied icily, "You haven't even reached the Violet Palace Realm. How can you possibly fight alongside me? You'd only slow me down. Leave now and stop bothering me."
Bai Ling'er's eyes, brimming with tears, fixed on Yuwen Tian with a look of deep hurt.
Yuwen Tian, no longer willing to engage with Bai Ling'er, stated flatly, "Do as you wish. But remember, if you die later, don't expect me to care. If you're not afraid of death, then stay."
At that, Bai Ling'er's face broke into a relieved smile. "Hmph! I'm not afraid of death."
She then murmured to herself so softly that only she could hear, "If I could die alongside you, I would be willing."
Yuwen Tian, seeing Bai Ling'er's resolve to stay with him, felt no emotional stir. He ignored her and focused instead on how to avert the looming crisis.
He was under no illusion about the strength of his adversaries; he knew he was outmatched. While he was confident in handling a Fourth Level Violet Palace Realm martial artist, a more formidable Fifth Level practitioner was beyond his ability to defeat.
"I've got it. I've just earned 5,000 villain's points, which means I can travel to other worlds and take advantage of the time difference to train. And if I'm lucky, all the better."
Yuwen Tian immediately addressed the system, "Which world can I travel to with 5,000 villain's points?"
"The destination world is chosen at random. You can spend either 2,000 or 4,000 villain's points to travel to another world. The more points you spend, the greater the possibilities in the world you'll traverse," the voice of the antagonist system echoed in Yuwen Tian's mind.
Yuwen Tian cast a sidelong glance at Bai Ling'er next to him, realizing he needed to send her away or ditch her. He couldn't very well use the antagonist system's features right under her watchful eye.
"Bai Ling'er, you'd better leave quickly, or I might do something beyond even my own control," Yuwen Tian said with a chilling tone.
"Ah? Like what?" Bai Ling'er wasn't scared; instead, she asked with a grin.
"It's simple. If you don't leave, I'll have no choice but to kill you." Yuwen Tian's voice was cold and merciless, the air around them seemed to drop in temperature, and his palpable intent to kill made Bai Ling'er tremble.
"Are you serious?" Tears welled up in Bai Ling'er's eyes.
"Don't waste my time. This is your last chance. Leave now, or I swear I'll end you," Yuwen Tian stated icily.
Bai Ling'er could feel the sincerity in Yuwen Tian's murderous intent and left in tears.
Once Yuwen Tian confirmed with his mental powers that Bai Ling'er had indeed gone, he quickly located a secluded chamber and told the system, "I want to spend 4,000 villain's points to transmigrate."
He had already decided; there was no point in hoarding villain's points. Yuwen Tian was always willing to spend them when necessary.
"Ding! 4,000 villain's points have been deducted. Host's random transmigration is commencing. The next world for the host to transmigrate to has been identified as the World of First Tribulation. Please prepare yourself, host."
Yuwen Tian experienced a flash of white light before his eyes, and in an instant, he vanished from the Mirage Sea Realm and arrived in the World of First Tribulation.
"The World of First Tribulation? What on earth is that?" Yuwen Tian's face took on a puzzled look.
"In the boundless cosmos, there are infinite worlds and dimensions. The World of First Tribulation is merely one among many. What's there to be so astonished about, host?" the system clarified.
He had once again traversed with his physical body, but to shield him from the Heavenly Dao of the World of First Tribulation, the system had assigned him the identity of Crocker.
Here, the spiritual energy of the world was denser than in the Three Kingdoms, but that wasn't the most significant aspect.
Crocker, who was Yuwen Tian, realized that even with his strength at the Third Sky of the Violet Palace Realm, he wouldn't be considered among the elite in this mysterious and powerful World of First Tribulation.
It wasn't that the World of First Tribulation was exceptionally advanced; rather, its pinnacle forces were simply too unscientific.
"Ding! Host transmigration time detected, issuing system mission: Alter the original storyline of the World of First Tribulation and defeat the Dan En Pirate Gang approaching the Shandla Sea Region. Reward: 500 villain's points," announced the voice of the antagonist system in Crocker's mind.
"System, what exactly is the storyline of the World of First Tribulation?" Yuwen Tian inquired.
"Every world operates by its own set of rules. Events unfold, and there are so-called protagonists of destiny. The events that revolve around these protagonists constitute the storyline," the system elucidated.
"And how am I to know the storyline of the World of First Tribulation?" Yuwen Tian pressed on.
"It's quite straightforward. I will directly infuse you with the original storyline of the World of First Tribulation."
Subsequently, Yuwen Tian's head throbbed as he suddenly gained a wealth of information.
"Now I understand," Yuwen Tian mused, having spent a good half-hour organizing the newly acquired information about the World of First Tribulation in his mind.
"Ah, it appears I've entered the timeline shortly after the storyline of the World of First Tribulation began." With the memories of the original Crocker now his own, he naturally understood the situation.
"Nicole, where did we leave off in the meeting just now?" Crocker asked, idly toying with the golden hook in his left hand. Nicole, a strikingly beautiful woman in her twenties, looked back at him with a curious gaze.
Daz, Crocker's top lieutenant, chimed in immediately, "Boss, we were discussing the takeover of the Shala Sea."
Nicole shot Crocker a peculiar glance. Her intuition, that keen sixth sense women often have, alerted her to a change in Crocker, though she couldn't quite put her finger on what was different.
"Damn, Nicole's perception is incredibly sharp," Crocker thought, startled, but he quickly reassured himself. "I've got the magical system to secure my identity. It's infallible."
With Daz's prompt, Crocker pieced together the memories of his predecessor. They were in the midst of a clandestine meeting, amidst the rain, strategizing over the conquest of the Shanla Sea Region Kingdom.
Surveying the room, Crocker's gaze lingered on Nicole and Daz, who had made a lasting impression on him, and then on his other deeply devoted subordinate, Feng Klei.
These three were the only ones of any real use; the others were mere underlings, hardly worth the original Crocker's notice.
"Right, I've got a strategy for taking over the Albasti Kingdom. You just need to carry out my plan," Crocker declared. He was privy to the original plot of the World of First Tribulation, thanks to the system's knowledge infusion, and he understood the key points perfectly.
In the original story, the plan was a collective effort, but Crocker didn't want to waste time. He laid out his scheme: "We'll use the banned foam powder to induce a three-year drought in the Shanla Sea Region Kingdom. We'll pin the blame on King Ciel, incite a civil uprising, form a rebel army, and instigate a severe conflict with the royal forces."
"When the time comes, I'll step in as the nation's hero, and the entire Shalla Sea Region will effectively be in my grasp," Crocker said, his smile laced with malice.
"Boss, that's a brilliant strategy. To think you'd share such a masterful plan so casually, I'm in awe," Dazbonis exclaimed in admiration. Feng Klei and the others nodded in agreement with Crocker's cunning plan.
Meanwhile, Nicole couldn't help but wonder when Crocker had become so astute.
Crocker had little interest in ruling over the Shala Sea Kingdom; his true aim was to capture their formidable weapon, the Bodhi Crescent Staff.
Aware of the Bodhi Crescent Staff's immense destructive capabilities, Crocker coveted it, knowing that possessing it would allow him to cause chaos in the World of First Tribulation and potentially earn a substantial amount of villain's points.
Crocker was informed of a stone tablet within the subterranean burial hall of Arlika, which held the secrets of the super weapon, the Bodhi Crescent Staff.
The tablet's inscriptions could only be deciphered by Nicole in the World of First Tribulation. According to the original storyline, Nicole was reluctant to interpret them and even attempted to assassinate him.
But with Crocker's identity now assumed by another, there was a chance to disrupt the established narrative.
"Vice President, how did Cliff fare with his task?" Crocker inquired of Nicole.
Uncertain of Crocker's current intentions, Nicole responded candidly, "President, Cliff's mission was unsuccessful."
Realizing that Mullen and his companions would soon be on their way, Crocker saw this as an opportune moment to gain 500 villain's points.
In the original story, Mullen's victory over Crocker was due to the overwhelming advantage of the protagonist's aura, coupled with Crocker's complacency. Initially, Crocker had underestimated Mullen, not considering him a worthy adversary.
Yuwen Tian's lips curled into an amused smirk. Now in Crocker's stead, he was not about to repeat such a fundamental error.
Yuwen Tian had fully inherited the abilities of Crocker's "Sand Divine Skill" and retained his cultivation level within the third tier of the Violet Palace Realm.
"System, is it possible to take this 'Sand Divine Skill' back with me to the Mirage Sea Realm?" Yuwen Tian asked.
"No, it cannot be taken back. However, if you use this body to fight, the combat techniques and experiences will be etched into your soul," the system replied.
Despite his frustration, Yuwen Tian accepted his limitations. He resolved to maximize his villain's points in the World of First Tribulation and dedicated himself to rigorous cultivation, taking advantage of the temporal disparity.
In the small garden, Crocker approached Nicole and asked, "How is Cliff doing?"
"Kraff has been defeated by Mullen and his team. It won't be long before Mullen and his group arrive at the kingdom in the Shanla Sea Region." Nicole adjusted the sunglasses perched on her nose as she spoke.
