C127 Ying Zhi Was in Danger!!(2)
"The time has come for the second battle!"
"Please join me in welcoming our judge, Dean Hee Yan!"
Dean Hee Yan appeared on the virtual screen, and Lan Linglong continued,
"Let's welcome the contenders for the second battle: the top-ranked Instructor Qin Buyi and the fifth-ranked Instructor Wang Dan."
Qin Buyi, having just finished his previous fight, remained on stage. Upon hearing Lan Linglong's introduction, he slowly opened his eyes.
Within moments, a man clad in tiger skin, wielding a pair of Meteor Hammers, emerged in the arena.
The audience erupted in speculation as Wang Dan made his entrance, with comments flooding the live feed.
"Instructor Qin Buyi took out Instructor Ye Hui in one move last time. How many moves will it take him this time?"
"Ye Hui was only in the early stages of Tribulation Crossing, but Wang Dan has reached the middle stages. He's bound to be stronger. My bet's on two moves!"
"I agree with the guy above, two moves it is."
In the arena, the man declared, "Wang Dan, I am honored to learn from you, Mr. Qin."
Qin Buyi responded, "You flatter me, Brother Wang."
Seeing both fighters ready, Dean Hee Yan wasted no time and declared, "The second battle starts now!"
Having witnessed the entirety of the first match, Wang Dan was well aware of Qin Buyi's formidable combat skills.
Taking no chances, he launched his most powerful attack right from the start.
"Meteor · Heavenly Fire Shattering Meteor!"
Wang Dan's left Meteor Hammer soared, igniting into a massive fireball in mid-air.
"Meteor · Earth Fire Explosion!"
Releasing the Meteor Hammer in his right hand, it descended automatically, landing a short distance from Wang Dan.
With a "crack," the hammer's surface split, transforming into dozens of smaller meteor hammers.
These miniatures took their positions, emitting chilling Yin fire from their cores.
The meteor hammers above and below resonated with each other, creating a fiery expanse in the void between them.
Within this inferno, blazed both the fierce flames and the eerie Yin fire.
The meteor hammers from above and below launched a coordinated assault on Qin Buyi.
Facing the onslaught ablaze with fierce flames, Qin Buyi bellowed:
"Killing Swordsmanship - Obliteration - Immortal Slashing!"
"Zheng!" "Keng!" The resonant hum of the Killing Saber echoed throughout the arena.
The blade darkened once more, radiating an intense aura of death.
A subtle hint of red flickered within the blade.
Qin Buyi unleashed two swift strikes towards the meteor hammers.
One blade light was half visible, half unseen; the other was shrouded in utter darkness.
In the sky, the two blade lights intertwined, merging into a single dark streak tinged with red.
This blade light swelled rapidly, engulfing both the meteor hammers and the fiery maelstrom they had created.
"Clang!" The blade light clashed with the Meteor Hammer.
The Meteor Hammer's advance was halted, then driven back towards Wang Dan by the relentless force of the blade light.
"Clang!" The inferno between the two Meteor Hammers was snuffed out.
Seeing the Meteor Hammer repelled back towards him, Wang Dan commanded, "Hold!"
Spiritual energy poured into the Meteor Hammer from his body like an unchecked flood.
Bolstered by this energy, the Meteor Hammer halted its retreat, locked in a deadlock with the blade light.
Wang Dan's spiritual energy drained away like water bursting from a dam.
A breath passed, and Wang Dan's forehead beaded with sweat.
After two breaths, his face flushed crimson.
After three breaths...
"Pfft!" Wang Dan coughed up a mouthful of blood, his strength to sustain the Meteor Hammer gone.
Deprived of spiritual energy, the Meteor Hammer hurtled back towards Wang Dan faster than before, with the blade light in hot pursuit. Wang Dan watched as it drew ever nearer.
Biting down on his tongue and igniting his lifeblood, he cried out, "Meteor - Yin Yang Fire Thunder!"
The Meteor Hammers, once speeding towards Wang Dan, began to draw together, rapidly fusing into one.
Wang Dan yelled, "Explode!"
Confronting the blade light, the Meteor Hammer detonated on impact.
The blade's light scattered amidst the forceful explosion.
Wang Dan caught his breath with relief, "Phew, blocked it!"
But his relief was short-lived as he witnessed something incredible.
Where the saber light had dissipated, a blinding radiance emerged at its core.
This radiance was thick with the essence of obliteration.
Bathed in its glow, the lingering aura and the shattered remnants of the Meteor Hammer vanished as if erased by an unseen colossal hand.
The blinding light surged toward Wang Dan, reaching him in an instant.
Staring at the light, more formidable and fearsome than the saber's, Wang Dan exclaimed, "What kind of saber art is this? It's horrifying!"
He had already sacrificed his weapon to avoid an embarrassing defeat.
Now, powerless against the annihilating radiance, he cried out, "I concede!"
As soon as he declared his surrender, Hee Yan materialized before him.
Hee Yan extended his right hand toward the Annihilation Light and gradually tightened his grip.
The light, as if caught by a giant hand, shrank and vanished with Hee Yan's clenching fist.
With the Annihilation Light extinguished, Hee Yan strode to the arena's center and declared, "The victor of the second bout is Qin Buyi!"
"The third contest will commence in one hour!"
Hee Yan then scanned his right hand with his Divine Consciousness, noting a minor abrasion on the palm.
"This annihilation aura is dreadfully potent. An attack from someone at the Combination Stage has managed to wound me, at the pinnacle of Mahayana," Hee Yan reflected.
The minor cut was a testament to the annihilation aura's strength, especially considering the vast gap between the Combination and Mahayana Perfection Stages.
Post-battle, Qin Buyi addressed Wang Dan, "Brother Wang, I appreciate your leniency."
Wang Dan, momentarily lost in thought on the stage, snapped back to reality at Qin Buyi's words, "Mr. Qin, your prowess is exceptional. I acknowledge my defeat."
After his remark, Wang Dan exited the stage and made his way to the spectator seats. Settling into a plush cabin, he donned a virtual helmet, gearing up to watch the upcoming three fights.
No sooner had he slipped on the virtual helmet than Wang Dan's eyes were drawn to the flurry of comments on the bullet screen:
"Where's the guy who predicted two moves? You were off the mark. Instructor Qin Buyi took down Instructor Wang Dan in just one move."
"I'm right here. I honestly thought Instructor Wang Dan could withstand at least two moves, no matter how weak. Seems I overestimated him. What a letdown!"
Wang Dan hadn't expected to be the subject of such talk and impulsively shot back a message: "Hey, aren't you worried about Instructor Wang Dan coming after you for that comment?"
The retort on the bullet screen came swiftly: "Hehe, I'd never say that in real life, but I've checked out this bullet screen system—it's totally anonymous. There's no way Instructor Wang Dan can track me down."
As the comments streamed past, Wang Dan's complexion alternated between shades of anger and embarrassment.
