C133 The Ancestral Master of the Three Purities!

Before reaching the Tribulation Crossing Stage, opportunities to witness someone else's tribulation are exceedingly rare. Securing such a chance could significantly boost one's own odds of success during their Tribulation Crossing. In essence, Qin Buyi has bestowed upon them a tremendous fortune.

Inside the private room, Ying Qian spoke with mixed emotions, "Zhi, this Mr. Qin is really setting the stage for your rise."

"Those admitted to the College of Ming Dynasty come from either wealthy backgrounds or possess extraordinary talent. They represent the future elite of the Ming Dynasty."

"Having received such a generous gift from Qin Buyi, it's fair to say he has earned the gratitude owed to a mentor by these individuals."

"He's effectively removing numerous obstacles from your path."

Ying Zhi felt deeply moved and responded to Ying Qian, "Mr. Qin has truly been good to me. Alas, I've done so little in return for him."

The audience remained in place, not a single person left, and even more students and teachers who hadn't attended the competition flocked to the venue after hearing about Qin Buyi's Tribulation Crossing.

In the opulent cabin, everyone was holding their breath in anticipation.

Qin Buyi released his Heavenly Transformation and assumed a meditative posture at the heart of the battlefield, constantly fine-tuning his energy.

One hour...

Three hours...

Midnight...

The crowd showed no signs of impatience, silently waiting for what was to come. The rarity of this moment meant they were even willing to wait another three days if necessary.

Dawn's early light began to streak across the sky...

Qin Buyi slowly opened his eyes and rose to his feet, his energy now at its zenith.

With a powerful cry of "Breakthrough!" the sound of cracking echoed from within his body, reminiscent of fireworks.

The familiar, intense pain surged without warning, reaching its maximum threshold instantly.

"Hiss!" Qin Buyi gasped in pain as the agony gripped him.

During his last ascension to the Combination Stage, his entire skeleton had shattered and reformed in a golden hue.

This time, his blood boiled tumultuously within him, as if he were a lobster turning red in the cookpot.

The temperature of his blood soared, and a mixture of bright red and blackish blood began to ooze from Qin Buyi's pores.

As the blood drained from him, Qin Buyi felt as if he had shed a suit of iron armor, his entire body becoming light and blissfully comfortable. But as time wore on, the bleeding showed no signs of abating, and a wave of weakness washed over him.

Twenty breaths later, with only a third of his blood remaining, the bleeding from every pore ceased. The profound weakness clouded Qin Buyi's mind, leaving him slightly dazed. Then, without warning, the temperature of his blood plummeted. In the space of two breaths, it fell from scorching highs of over a hundred degrees to a frigid minus one hundred degrees. Streaks of blue, the harbingers of severe cold, snaked through his veins, freezing his blood solid.

Qin Buyi's skin turned as white as snow. The sweat from the previous heat was instantly crystallized. His eyebrows, hair, and entire body were encased in ice, the chill emanating from within. To an onlooker, Qin Buyi might have been mistaken for an ice sculpture suspended in midair.

The temperature inside him continued its relentless descent. Minus one hundred and fifty degrees... Minus two hundred degrees... Minus two hundred and fifty degrees... It kept dropping until it nearly reached three hundred degrees below zero.

Qin Buyi attempted to clench his fists. "Crack!" The thick ice encasing them shattered under the pressure. But as soon as his grip tightened, within less than two breaths, the ice reformed over his fists. The extreme cold slowed more than just his physical movements; Qin Buyi's mental processes were also grinding to a halt, his thoughts becoming sluggish.

If he could articulate his experience at that moment, Qin Buyi would describe it as stepping out of a steam-filled sauna and plunging into an ice cellar, oscillating between scorching heat and biting cold. This frozen state persisted for over three days.

Throughout this time, onlookers observed Qin Buyi's extraordinary condition through their virtual helmets, and the live commentary never ceased.

"What's going on here? I remember the texts mentioning that to break through to the Tribulation Crossing Stage, one must endure the lightning tribulation. So why hasn't a single bolt struck in these three days?"

"It seems some extraordinary transformation has occurred within Instructor Qin. Such a stunning human-shaped ice sculpture—it's quite artistic."

"Artistic, my foot! You wouldn't be calling it artistic if you were the one frozen solid for three days. Let's see if you'd still appreciate the 'art' then."

"Could this be the difference between geniuses and the rest of us? When we face the Tribulation Crossing, lightning strikes, and if it doesn't kill us, we're deemed to have passed. But a genius? They get to chill out in ice for a few days before the tribulation even begins?"

In the private room, Ying Qian watched the scene unfold in silence, his thoughts unreadable.

The air rippled as Shih Ci materialized, eyeing the ice-encased Qin Buyi. "This young man's talent is beyond our wildest dreams. If I'm not mistaken, he's currently undergoing the Human Tribulation."

Ying Zhi, puzzled, inquired, "What's the Human Tribulation?"

Drawing from his wealth of knowledge, Shih Ci explained, "The Tribulation Crossing we commonly refer to is the heavenly tribulation, the thunder from above."

"In ancient times, many geniuses faced not just the Heavenly Tribulation but also the Human Tribulation, the Earthly Tribulation, and even tribulations of the Great Dao and Karma."

"The Human Tribulation has manifested in various forms and interpretations over time. Broadly speaking, it originates either within oneself or from external forces."

"The self-originating Human Tribulation is what we're witnessing now. Those caused by external forces are orchestrated by the Great Dao, often involving a formidable adversary who intervenes during the tribulation."

"Earthly Tribulations have been scarce throughout history, and my knowledge of them is limited."

"As for the Great Dao and Karmic Tribulations, they're the stuff of legends. Only figures on the level of the Three Purities Ancestors could invoke such tribulations."

Ying Zhi, half-grasping the concept, nodded and remarked, "I see, there's much more to the Heavenly Tribulation than I realized." He then seized upon a crucial detail from Shih Ci's explanation and asked, "Who exactly are the Three Purities Ancestors?"

Immediately after Ying Zhi seized on the key point in Shih Ci's words, he inquired, "What kind of person is the ancestor of the Three Purities?"

Before Shih Ci could respond, Ying Qian interjected sharply, "Zhi, there are questions you shouldn't ask. Prying too much can lead to fatal consequences."

Rebuked by Ying Qian, Ying Zhi settled back into his seat, remaining silent and intently observing Qin Buyi's Tribulation Crossing, silently urging, "Mr. Qin, you must prevail in your Tribulation Crossing."

As dawn broke on the seventh day, a massive sphere of ice had formed around Qin Buyi, encasing him completely.

When his consciousness had slowed to a crawl, encased in ice, a flame ignited at the soles of Qin Buyi's feet.

By this time, the residual blood in Qin Buyi's body had turned blue. The flame, once ignited, climbed higher, claiming the entire left half of Qin Buyi's body.

The blood within the left side of Qin Buyi's body began to change from blue to gold under the flame's searing heat, and the thick ice encrusting him started to melt away.
