C6 Six

"A mocha cappuccino bubble tea for me," Caden ordered while adjusting his pair of

'way too big' sunglasses in the compact mirror he carried everywhere. He had dyed

the ends of his hair blond, an indication that he was going through some relationship problems.

"What are you going to have?" Caden asked, glancing up at me while putting the small mirror in his pocket.

"A honeydew boba," I said, my eyes still on the menu. I had no idea why I was doing it because I come here every time and ask for the menu only to order the same thing again. "And a slice of red velvet cake."

"So, the usual?" Agatha the waiter asked in a mocking tone. She blew a bubble with her bubblegum and made it pop while writing our orders down.

Sip'ndDip was a popular smoothie corner in this small town. This place was one of my favorite corners of heaven. It was where the chattering of the employees could be heard from the tables, joking and teasing, or perhaps singing loudly and out of tune. The latter one was mostly Agatha.

The food here was simple and the decor plain. I loved it for the people, for the conversations we had, and the routine of seeing one another.

Caden and I used to come here every day during school hours to do what we were best at. Sipping on a smoothie and gossiping about people at school. After we

graduated we come here once a week to catch up on all the drama that's been going on in our lives.

"What's the tea, sis?" Caden asked, crossing his hands together while leaning back. The dim red light in here made his hair look even uglier than it already was.

"Axel came over a couple of days ago," I said, fiddling with my phone. I always did that when I was nervous.

For some reason, talking about Axel made me nervous. Talking to him made me feel so bad yet so good.

Axel drank, broke the law, drove too fast for his own good, and yet here I was trying to see what else he was made of. Definitely not sugar and spice and everything nice.

Deep down the writer in me was curious about him. Curiosity killed the cat. But then again, satisfaction brought it back.

"Are y'all official already?" Caden snapped me out of my little daydream.

"No, I don't think I want to," I admitted in all honesty. I didn't belong in Axel's world and vice versa. We were the complete opposite of each other.

But opposite attracts right?

"And that's okay," Caden said, offering me a wide smile. "You can keep him around." "Keep him around for what?" I asked, confused.

"For whenever you need a dick to suck on."

I stared at Caden blankly. "I don't think that's a good idea."

"It is. Keep him around, suga. You enjoy his company, don't you?" he leaned forward and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "You told me you need inspiration. Well, let me tell you suga, Axel is full of inspiration. It's why I ship y'all in the first place."

"Okay yes, but..."

Caden interrupted me. "No buts. Lucky for you, he also comes with a dick. But that's just a bonus. I swear suga, y'all will make magic."

I smiled. "I know that. I know a good thing when I see one. And it's not magic we will make, it's a masterpiece."

Caden was about to say something but paused because Agatha came with our

orders. After she left he took a sip of his drink and said, "So, el toxico and I broke up."

My mouth fell wide open. "Why did you break up with him? I mean he looks like Osama Bin Laden with the beard, but he bought us food."

El toxico was what we called Caden's last boyfriend. It was me who gave him the

clever nickname, because not only did he have Caden as a boyfriend, he also had a girlfriend on the side. Or maybe Caden was the side. It didn't really matter to me, because whenever he hung out with Caden and me he bought me food. I couldn't support the bad decisions my best friend makes on an empty stomach, now can I?

"I got bored of him."

"You said he gave the best blowjob."

"A good blowjob ain't enough to keep me around, suga. Anyway, I've had my eyes on Quinton for a while now, do you think that's a good idea?" Caden looked at me, his eyes glimmering with mischief.

"It's a bad idea," I stated flatly. I don't think Quinton is gay or bi, but he could be. I have never seen him with another guy in public though.

"Great, I'm gonna shoot my shot at him."

After I did my night routine I grabbed my laptop and went to bed. It was almost eight o'clock and at this time I was usually already in bed, my window open, music on, and ready to write a new story.

Today, however, I didn't know how to start.

I looked out the window into the sky. Stars filled the sky like pale corn into freshly turned ground. Even in the darkness, there is the light of the stars, a promise that even when we yearn for the light of the sun these stars bring us hope of the dawn.

The vibration of my phone on the windowsill brought me back to the present. Axel's name was flashing on the screen. A smile appeared on my face as I slid my thumb across the screen to accept the call. "Hello."

"Hello, Noodles. How was your day today?" he asked briskly. All our conversations started like this. First, he would ask how my day went, then how I was doing, and what I ate for the day.

It was like our routine every night.

"I went out with Caden today," I told him as I was turning my laptop on. "How was work today, Sunshine?"

"I didn't kill anyone," he said optimistically followed by a low chuckle. "I just had a few annoying customers, but afterward everything was just smooth sailing baby."

"That sucks, now you have to show up for work tomorrow...again," I said, voice laced with sarcasm. I opened the youtube app and played some background music.

Axel laughed. "I know right. What are you listening to?" "Chase Atlantic," I answered as I turned up the volume. "Never heard of him."

"It's them, you uncultured swine. They are a boyband." I placed my phone next to my laptop so he could listen to the song with me.

๐ŸŽต...Sex, blood, fashion, dripping holy water

Holy shit, she worshipping my dick like it's the Holy Father Triple the six, abandon your god 'cause he don't exist

I'll keep the blade, only talk a few weeks and I'll cut off your wrists Medication gets me higher than heaven, but bro I'm the shit...๐ŸŽต

I picked up the phone again and turned down the volume of my laptop. "What do

you think?"

"That's the shit you're listening to?!" he exclaimed, totally caught off guard by my music taste.

I burst out laughing. "What's wrong with it?"

"Nothing. Send me that song, baby. You're not as innocent as you sound like." "Ahh," I gasped. "But I am innocent."

"You're a perverted little demon, that's what you are," he stated casually. "But hey, guess what I'm about to get?"

"On my nerves?"

Axel laughed dryly. "That's for later. Guess again."

I let out a growl of frustration. "I don't know. How about you tell me?" "An alligator."

"What?!" I shouted in disbelief. "To eat?" "No dummy, as a pet."

"You're fucking crazy. You can't keep an alligator as a pet."

"Yes, I can," he answered confidently. "Anyway, what are you doing? I looked at the blank word document on my laptop.

"I'm trying to write, but I don't know what to write about," I sighed.

There was a short pause and for a moment I thought he had fallen asleep. An owl flew past my window scaring the crap out of me when Axel spoke up again.

"Write about us."
