C12 The President Old Man Lei

Three people walked into the association, which was essentially just a few offices. Due to certain restrictions, no buildings could be constructed here, so despite the large area, it was all single-story. At the center of the association's grounds was the president's office, which was exactly where the three were headed.

There weren't many people around. Although there were quite a few Demon Suppressing Masters, most were usually out in the field, so visits to the association were rare. However, those passing by couldn't help but notice them. Situ Caiyu's handsome appearance paired with Ji Yeying's beauty was quite the attention-grabber. But what was that following behind the two?

Ji Jinfei's eyes were busy scanning for her target. "That one's nice, but too bad he has a girlfriend. Annoying. And that cute guy didn't even wait for me. That one's okay, but a bit old. Forget that one, too rough. Seriously, what's with the smirk at me?"

As she was observing, two women emerged from the president's office. The first had delicate eyebrows and almond-shaped eyes, a small oval face, and a ponytail, giving her a fresh, innocent look. The one following her was slightly taller, slimmer, with a longer face and well-defined features. Her hair was loose, draping over her shoulders, and she was dressed in white.

"Well, if it isn't Situ Caiyu! What brings you here today?" The first woman greeted Situ Caiyu warmly, completely ignoring Ji Yeying.

Situ Caiyu frowned but said nothing. Ji Jinfei quickly stepped forward and asked, "Who are you, and why are you bothering my mentor?"

"Mentor? And who might you be?" The woman glanced at Ji Jinfei with a hint of disdain.

"Who I am isn't important. What's important is my mentor. Let me introduce you," Ji Jinfei said, gesturing to Ji Yeying.

"No need, we know each other," Ji Yeying interrupted, stopping Ji Jinfei. "Long time no see, Woo Xue."

"Oh, so that's your apprentice. No wonder they look so amusing," Woo Xue said with a smile after glancing at Ji Jinfei. The woman behind her immediately covered her mouth and let out a clear, ringing laugh that sent chills down one's spine.

Situ Caiyu chimed in, "You two are still as quirky as ever, haven't changed a bit."

"Oh, but you've changed. You're even more handsome now. Are you married?" Woo Xue responded quickly to Situ Caiyu's comment.

Ji Jinfei chuckled, thinking how this person was just like her, always eager to approach handsome guys. No wonder they were called the quirky duo; the name truly fit.

Situ Caiyu just shook his head and said, "We're here on business. If you have other things to do, you should go ahead."

Woo Xue snorted, glanced at Ji Yeying, and said, "Didn't expect to see you again. It's been a while, and I was actually quite happy about it." The woman behind her let out another laugh, and Ji Jinfei felt a shiver run through her.

Ji Yeying ignored them and said, "Alright, Jinfei, let's go." With that, she led the way toward the president's office, with Situ Caiyu following behind.

The president's office was quite spacious but simply decorated. In the center was a recliner, where an elderly man, President Lei, was lounging. Without even opening his eyes when he heard them enter, he said, "State your business. Are you here to take on a task, or do you want information about the handsome and beautiful folks in the Demon Suppressing Realm?"

Ji Jinfei perked up and quickly stepped forward, saying, "President, what information do you have?"

"Anything you want. For instance, the dream girl of the Demon Suppressing Realm's heartthrob, Situ Caiyu. Or maybe the measurements of the Demon Realm's flower, Ji Yeying," President Lei said nonchalantly, not realizing that Situ Caiyu and Ji Yeying were already beside him.

Ji Jinfei chuckled and said, "Then why don't you tell us Ji Yeying's measurements?"

"Oh, you really know your stuff! A woman who doesn't ask about Caiyu first but instead asks about Yeying—that shows you're pretty pure-hearted. Speaking of Yeying, she's quite the beauty in the Demon Suppressing Realm. From top to bottom, she's—" President Lei was happily talking when a gust of wind interrupted him, and Yeying punched him right in the face.

President Lei was knocked off his lounge chair and angrily shouted, "Who dares... oh, Yeying!" He finally saw who was in front of him.

Yeying shook her fist and said, "Old man, you've got some nerve. You’ve memorized those lines pretty well, huh? Do you say this to everyone who comes by?"

President Lei quickly replied, "No, no, don't listen to what others say."

"I heard it from you," Yeying said, stepping closer to President Lei.

Situ Caiyu came over and pulled Yeying back, saying, "Let it go, Yeying. You know President Lei likes to joke around. He didn't mean any harm."

"Yeah, yeah, no harm meant. Oh, Caiyu, you're here too." President Lei, who seemed to have tunnel vision, finally noticed him.

Jinfei stepped forward and said, "And me, do you recognize me?"

President Lei looked at Jinfei, shook his head, and said, "No, I don't."

"I'm Yeying's apprentice. My name is Jinfei," she introduced herself.

"Great, great. You all came together, so there must be something you need. What is it?" President Lei finally regained his composure and changed the subject, avoiding Yeying's wrath.

Yeying explained the situation at the academy to President Lei and said, "We're here to get those potions you made. I remember you once made a remedy for the wax seal."

"Oh, I still have that, but since Chung Jue left, we haven't seen any wax seal situations. So, does this mean Chung Jue is back?" President Lei asked.

"Yes, and not only that, he's been creating monsters. I've been tracking him for several days, and finally, that thing was taken down by Ji Yeying," Situ Caiyu said.

President Lei furrowed his brow and remarked, "He hasn't shown up for a long time, and now he's making such a grand return. This might not be good."

"Exactly," Situ Caiyu replied. "That's why I'm planning to find something. I need you to come with me to talk to the head of the council."

President Lei nodded, saying, "Alright, let's head over. By the way, let my son take you to get the medicine. I'll write you a note because I stored those medicines deep in the training grounds. You can find the manager there to help you retrieve them. Jiuping, Jiuping, come here for a moment."

At his call, a young man, probably nearing thirty, stepped out from the back. He was well-built with an air of confidence. His skin was slightly tanned, giving him a healthy look, and his muscles were well-defined, indicating he had trained. This was President Lei's son, Lei Jiuping.

"What a handsome guy," Ji Jinfei exclaimed as she rushed over. She had been holding back for a while. Lee Jiaxiang had a girlfriend, and she couldn't get close to him. Now, finally, there was an attractive guy who could potentially become her mentor, but she couldn't make a move on him.

Now, with this handsome guy appearing, Ji Jinfei saw her chance and moved swiftly. Lei Jiuping, seeing her approach, quickly sidestepped and reached out to push her away.

Ji Jinfei, clearly experienced in such situations, quickly changed direction mid-pounce, grabbing Lei Jiuping's hand and twisting to embrace him.

Lei Jiuping had no choice but to shake her off, using his other elbow to nudge her away from his chest. Ji Jinfei blocked his move with her elbow and reached for his side. In just a moment, they exchanged four or five moves, both using grappling techniques, and ended up in a stalemate.

"Jinfei, don't be rude," Ji Yeying quickly intervened.

"Jiuping, is that any way to treat our guests?" President Lei chimed in, prompting the two to separate, exchanging a glance that showed their mutual dissatisfaction.

President Lei, slightly embarrassed, introduced, "This is my son, Lei Jiuping. He's now an apprentice Demon Suppressing Master. Come over and meet these two remarkable figures in our field. This is Situ Caiyu, and this is Ji Yeying."

Upon hearing these names, Lei Jiuping's demeanor changed instantly, and he approached with respect, his words filled with admiration. The reputation of these two in the Demon Suppressing Realm was indeed significant.

President Lei then gestured towards Ji Jinfei, saying, "This is Ji Yeying's apprentice, also an apprentice Demon Suppressing Master. You two should connect more often."

"Hmph," Lei Jiuping snorted upon seeing Ji Jinfei, his temper flaring.

Ji Jinfei, unfazed, retorted, "What, still not convinced? Fine, let's have another match."

"Bring it on," Lei Jiuping shot back, rolling up his sleeves, ready to go. President Lei barked a command, pulling Lei Jiuping back. Turning to Situ Caiyu, he asked, "When do you plan to collect the items?"

Situ Caiyu smiled, "I'll head out now."

"Alright," President Lei agreed. "Jiuping, I'm heading to the Demon Suppressing Association headquarters with Situ Caiyu. You take them to the training grounds to get the antidote. Got it?"

Lei Jiuping nodded, and President Lei stood up, following Situ Caiyu to the door. Just as they reached it, Situ Caiyu turned back and said, "By the way, a word of advice: don't dig too deep into certain matters. Avoid confronting Chung Jue. You're not ready for him."

Ji Jinfei, hands on hips, challenged, "I refuse to believe Chung Jue is tougher than you."

Situ Caiyu could only chuckle, "Just a warning, don't act recklessly." With that, he left with President Lei.
