C13 The Person Waiting for You Is You

While Rong Yaoting was busy catching up on Lu Yiting's life during his absence, everything in the car had returned to normal. Lu Yiting leaned against Jun, staring blankly at the car ceiling. She was still a bit dazed, unsure of how things had ended up like this—her and Jun...

Jun had his eyes closed, gently holding Yiting's hand, a satisfied expression on his face.

"Jun... did I forget something?" Yiting's voice was soft. At this moment, being so close to this man filled her with an overwhelming sense of contentment. She was eager to know what she had forgotten.

Jun tensed up, opened his eyes, and wrapped a jacket from the back seat around Yiting. "You did forget a few things, but I'm not going to tell you. I want you to remember on your own."

"But..."

"I still owe you a wedding. Where would you like to have it?" Jun suddenly brought up the topic. They had been married for a month but hadn't had a ceremony. Yiting assumed there wouldn't be one, so Jun's question caught her off guard, making her forget her previous query.

Her bright eyes looked at Jun. "Really?"

Jun lowered his gaze, meeting hers, and damn it, he felt a familiar stir within him. That look... it made him want to ravish her, and truth be told, he did just that.

He flipped over, pinning Yiting beneath him.

"Ah!" Yiting gasped, and Jun silenced her with a kiss, their lips and teeth mingling, making her body quickly melt. Clearly, Jun preferred action over words.

"Jun... Jun, are you serious about this?"

Every girl dreams of wearing a wedding dress and making a lifelong promise to the one they love in a sacred chapel. Yiting was no exception.

Jun, catching his breath, softened as he heard Yiting's voice. He wrapped his arm around her waist, continuing his movements, and gently rested her head on his shoulder, whispering in her ear, "Yiting... the contract states you're to be my wife forever. As for the wedding, that's something I owe you."

When he first learned that Yiting's wedding with Kaiwei had been called off by Kaiwei himself, he was immediately worried about her and set out to find her. He eventually found her in a park.

She was sitting alone, drinking heavily, and his anger flared up. For years, he had stayed in the shadows because she was wholeheartedly in love with Kaiwei. He didn't want to be a burden to her, but seeing her self-destruct over a guy who didn't care about her was infuriating.

He wanted to walk up to her and ask if she'd lost her mind. Was it really worth it to torture herself over someone who didn't love her back?

When she finally passed out, he was still concerned and took her to his place. Through her fragmented words, he realized that what truly broke her heart was the death of Yiming.

These days, few people mention Yiming's death, but it serves as a cautionary tale for every prominent family. The Lu family held significant power in B City, yet Yiming was ultimately sentenced to death. It was a stark reminder that in today's society, the law is sacred and impartial.

In that moment, his heart softened. He had worked hard to stay out of her life, suppressing his feelings, just to see her happy. But he realized that to truly make her happy, he needed to be the one standing by her side, protecting her from life's storms. No one else was more suited for the job.

Because of this, the contract was signed.

A broken sigh escaped from Yiting's lips, and Jun felt a soft spot in his heart. "You probably want a grand wedding, right? For our honeymoon, let's go to the Mediterranean."

Yiting's head was spinning, but she heard every word Jun said clearly. Her eyes suddenly felt a bit misty. Besides her youngest uncle, Jun was the first person to treat her so well.

"Okay."

She used to wonder when she and Kaiwei would walk into that sacred chapel, but she never expected that the man promising her a lifetime of happiness in that chapel would be Jun.

Strangely, she didn't feel the slightest bit uneasy. It was as if... he was the one she had been waiting for all along!
