C15 Will I Faint from Excessive Indulgence?

Huo Jun seemed oblivious to the stark difference in Lu Yiting's demeanor. He plopped down on the bed, wrapping her, still cocooned in the blanket, in his arms. He gently kissed her earlobe and whispered in his deep, magnetic voice, "Because... the beauty is too enchanting to disturb, lest I startle the heavens."

Lu Yiting was momentarily stunned, the breath against her ear so distinct, the words so captivating... Her heart softened instantly. Indeed, women love sweet words, especially when they come from someone close.

After speaking, Huo Jun took her earlobe into his mouth, the fresh scent at the tip of his nose making him lose control a bit. The wonderful feelings from the previous night flooded his mind, and he felt a certain part of him react instantly.

He turned his head away, clearing his throat, "I made some custard, would you like some?"

Lu Yiting didn't notice anything amiss with Huo Jun. Her expression softened, and she reached out from under the blanket, wrapping her arms around his neck, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Jun... I don't know what I've forgotten, but I know that for the rest of my life, I'll be your Mrs. Huo."

She had loved Lee Kaiwei for five years, and all she got in return was a reputation as a divorcee, along with hurt, indifference, and deceit. Falling in love with the man now holding her seemed impossible, but she was certain she would cherish him, just as he had offered her a safe harbor in her darkest times.

She had never told him that when she woke up that day and saw his back, she felt a sense of peace and calm.

She knew him! While Lee Kaiwei was still struggling, this man had already become the focus of everyone's admiration. Wise, decisive, strategic, courageous... Every powerful word could be attributed to him. Lu Yiting had never imagined such a man would become her husband.

This was her stroke of luck!

So, that contract was something she willingly signed, becoming Mrs. Huo... In everyone's eyes, including her own, it seemed like he was the one getting the short end of the stick.

Huo Jun paused for a moment, then smirked, "You're already mine, and you still want to escape?"

Lu Yiting lifted her head, kissed him softly on the corner of his mouth, and looked at him earnestly, "I won't run. Even if you lose everything, I'll be there with you through the tough times, the pain, and the waiting..."

Huo Jun studied her for a while, then with a twitch of his lips, asked, "Can't you just think of the good in me? Why would I lose everything?"

Lu Yiting's smile froze; something felt off about this conversation!

She buried her face in his neck, murmuring, "I was just making a hypothetical scenario."

It was a vow of unwavering loyalty, and from the moment she uttered it, it was as if the universe had sealed it, ensuring she would never break it.

Huo Jun held her a little tighter, glancing at the now-cold egg custard. Since it was no longer warm...

"Ah!"

Suddenly, the room spun, and Lu Yiting found herself pinned beneath Huo Jun on the bed.

"Jun... what are you doing?"

Huo Jun unceremoniously started removing his shirt, "Breakfast is cold; we'll eat later. Right now, I'm hungry!"

Lu Yiting rolled her eyes, about to say something, but her words were silenced by a kiss. Slowly, her body relaxed, and her last coherent thought was whether their lack of restraint might cause them to faint from exhaustion.

As it turned out, the consequence of overindulgence wasn't fainting; instead, she ended up with a rosy complexion and skin that seemed to glow.

"Nurse Lu, your skin looks great today."

Arriving at the office, a male doctor gave her a curious glance. Lu Yiting nodded calmly, though inside, she was flustered beyond words.

This is the City Hospital, known to some as the place where the heiress of the prestigious Lu family works. She’s related to the Rong family and was once married to Lee Kaiwei, later divorcing and marrying Huo Jun. To those in the know, she’s a socialite. But to those who aren’t, she’s just a nurse—albeit one who seems to have more admirers than most.

“Dr. Liu, has Dr. Chen arrived yet?” Yiting Lu asked as she settled into her spot. She was speaking to a renowned neurosurgeon, who, despite his slightly flirtatious tone earlier, was genuinely kind. She knew he had a second-grade daughter, whose photo she had seen—adorable.

Dr. Liu was seated, seemingly updating patient files. “I think he’s been called to room 207 again. That little guy’s acting up,” he said, adjusting his glasses and looking at Yiting. “You know, he’s your little charge. Yesterday, when you weren’t here, he was restless, and today, seeing you absent again, he’s been quite the handful.”

Yiting blushed slightly. “Well... Anran is usually such a good kid.”
