C16 You Can't Let Others Look down on You

In Room 207, there was a twelve-year-old boy who seemed to come from a well-off family. However, his parents were likely busy with work, as they hadn't visited since the day they brought him to the hospital.

Lu Yiting felt sorry for him and would chat with him whenever she had the chance. Eventually, the head nurse noticed that the boy, Anran, behaved best around her, so she assigned Yiting to care for him. It had been two weeks now.

"Dr. Liu," Yiting said, "speaking of which, Anran had an appendectomy. He should be able to go home by now, right? Why is he still here?"

Dr. Liu, continuing to write, replied knowingly, "That kid probably doesn't want to leave you. Only Shaoyang is patient enough to put up with him. If it were me, I'd have lost my temper by now."

Yiting stood up, her white nurse's uniform perfectly outlining her figure. She was beautiful, with striking features, and was considered the star of the hospital.

Dr. Liu waved his hand in mock annoyance. "You better hurry up and take over Shaoyang's shift instead of dawdling here. Otherwise, his fan club might give you trouble again."

Hearing this, Yiting shook her head with a hint of resignation. "I... oh well!"

With that, she left the office and headed to the second floor. Truthfully, she didn't have the best reputation among the women in the hospital.

She had been hired directly without an internship, and once, the hospital director had patted her head in passing. A junior nurse saw this, and rumors quickly spread that she had cozied up to the director to get her job.

In reality, Mr. Chiang, the hospital director, was an old family friend. She had often visited his home as a child, and they were as close as family.

A sweet but mocking voice caught her off guard. Yiting looked up to see a woman in a nurse's uniform smirking at her.

Yiting didn't want to deal with her. As she was on the stairs, she moved to the right, but the woman blocked her. She moved to the left, and the woman did the same.

The stairs were wide enough, but it was clear this woman didn't want to let her pass.

Understanding this, Yiting stopped moving and looked at her. "Tingting, what's your problem?"

Tingting sneered, "Oh, Nurse Lu, your skin's looking better lately. What, been getting some attention from a man?"

Yiting's face darkened. When Dr. Liu mentioned it earlier, it didn't bother her, but hearing it from Tingting was disgusting.

Though Yiting was gentle by nature, she wasn't easy to bully. She shot back, "Tingting, as far as I know, you're single, right? So why is everything out of your mouth so vulgar?"

Tingting wasn't fazed. She leaned seductively against the stair railing. "Because... I'm dealing with a lowlife. You know, you talk to people one way and to devils another."

Yiting laughed in disbelief. Not that she had done any of the things they assumed, but even if she had, how did it affect them?

She used to endure their veiled and open remarks, but not today!

Back then, she was Mrs. Lee, and the staff at the Lee residence never showed her any respect. She feared upsetting Lee Kaiwei, so she never complained, gradually getting used to it.
