And just like that, the "cheating scandal" was cleared up, and everyone quickly shifted their focus to the news of Yan Feibai's upcoming role as a brilliant young minister.

Meanwhile, back home, Qin Manrong, still working late, received a text: "9 South Pine Drive, tomorrow at 8 AM."

As she left the bedroom to tell Gu Jingming that the rumor had been resolved, she overheard a woman's voice from the study:

"Jingming, you have to believe me. I wanted to clear things up from the start, but the company wouldn't let me! They insisted on using this to stir up some buzz!"

Apparently, Lyi Jing had shown up at the Gu residence without Manrong knowing.

Gu Jingming wasn't buying it: "Fine, let's say the company stopped you initially. But what about later? How did you end up connected with that pretty boy Yan? Why did he help you and even get you a role in the new show?"

Lyi Jing was just as puzzled, but she wasn't about to pass up a golden opportunity. She accepted it without hesitation.

Perhaps he had just woken up, as his complexion was slightly flushed, and his dreamy eyes carried a hint of drowsiness. Paired with his slightly tousled black hair and casual loungewear, he exuded a dangerously seductive charm.

He looked Qin Manrong up and down, a hint of disappointment crossing his face. "No maid outfit? Miss Qin, you're not very committed, are you?"
