C17 Damn It!

Qin Manrong shot him a fierce glare and pushed past him, saying, "Sorry, I don't share your weird hobbies!"

Yan Feibai, in his slippers, followed her with a knowing smile. "You're right, Miss Qin. I forgot that a maid outfit is too basic for you. You prefer something more... exciting, don't you?"

Manrong paused, her cheeks suddenly flushed. The first time she met Yan Feibai, she had bruises that looked like she’d been in some intense role-play, and she shamelessly declared, "Movie King Yan, haven't you heard of the term 'spice' in a marriage?"

Spice, huh?

Feeling embarrassed, Manrong wished she could go back in time and slap her past self for being so reckless with her words.

The entire morning, Yan Feibai had her running around, fetching coffee or cleaning up. Soon enough, he was complaining about a headache.

Frustrated, Manrong threw down the clothes she was folding and stormed over. "Yan Feibai, are you done yet?"

Feibai lounged on the couch, grinning at her. Manrong was in a simple T-shirt and jeans, and from his angle, she looked stunning with her curves and long legs.

His throat tightened, and he felt a bit dizzy, his voice turning husky. "Miss Qin, are you trying to tempt me?"

Following his gaze, Manrong looked at herself and turned red with anger. "You see what you want to see!"

She must be crazy to even engage with him!

Fuming, she turned to leave but was pulled back by a hot hand on her wrist. With a strong tug, she was drawn close, and Yan Feibai's face loomed large before her, his warm breath brushing her ear.

"Manrong, I think I've really fallen under your spell. The closer I get to you, the more I feel like I'm losing control, and my thoughts are just a mess..."

Manrong was about to slap this shameless guy when she suddenly noticed something was off with Feibai. She reached up to feel his forehead and gritted her teeth.

"Spell, my foot! Feibai, you've got a fever!"

Feibai finally remembered that he had been filming a water scene until 2 AM last night, soaking in cold water for four or five hours. No wonder he caught a chill.

So, it had nothing to do with the woman in front of him after all.

He buried his head in the crook of Manrong's neck with a sigh, feeling an inexplicable sense of... disappointment.

Manrong used all her strength to half-drag, half-carry the oversized nuisance to the bedroom and onto the bed. But this troublemaker refused to take his medicine unless he got a hug and a kiss.

Manrong almost lost it.

After much persuasion and effort, she finally got Feibai to take his medicine and fall into a deep sleep, though he still held her hand tightly, having made her promise to stay by his side.

But when Feibai woke up, the person who had been sitting by the bed was nowhere to be seen.

"Did she sneak off?"

He huffed, leaving a sick person alone like this was just unacceptable!

He decided to add another day to the original three-day maid contract as punishment. No, make that three more days!

But just as he stepped out of the bedroom, he heard noises coming from the kitchen.

He paused, phone in hand, ready to call Manrong, and walked over curiously, just in time to see Manrong emerging from the kitchen, untying her apron as she walked.
