C6 Gu Jingming's Wife!
More people were asking, "Movie Queen Kuang, why did you decide to endorse this phone?"
Kuang Wan had already made her way to the stage, standing beside Manrong. She smiled at the question, playfully winking at the media below, her demeanor both charming and cheeky.
"Wow, have I never told you all that Manrong and I are alumni of Cambridge University?"
The entire press conference erupted once more. Half the crowd was marveling at Movie Queen Kuang's stunning beauty, while the other half was in shock: the woman often labeled as a nouveau riche's daughter, Qin Manrong, was actually a top student from Cambridge!
As the audience's enthusiasm for Kuang Wan and the new phone grew unstoppable, Lyi Jing, who had been frozen since Kuang Wan's appearance, finally snapped out of it. She stomped her foot in frustration and stormed out.
Gu Jingming, however, didn't even notice when she left. He stood there, watching Qin Manrong on stage, chatting and laughing with Kuang Wan, feeling as if the woman he called his wife had suddenly become a stranger. Or perhaps... he had never truly known her at all?
In an inconspicuous corner of the venue, a handsome man wearing sunglasses watched the slender figure in royal blue on stage, a smile playing on his lips. "So, your name is Qin Manrong."
But then his brow furrowed, "Married, huh? Gu Jingming's wife?..."
It was unclear whether it was regret or a sigh.
If Qin Manrong were here, she would be shocked to discover that this man was none other than Yan Feibai!
He raised a glass of champagne, sipping slowly, when suddenly someone clapped him on the shoulder.
Yan Feibai turned to see Kuang Wan, having finished her interaction with the audience, now back offstage and grinning mischievously at him.
"Movie King Yan, come on, be honest. What brings you, such a big star, to a small press conference like this?"
Yan Feibai wore his signature electrifying smile, his tone full of mock complaint: "Wasn't it you, Movie Queen Kuang, who called me up to play chauffeur for your friend's sake?"
"Cut it out!" Kuang Wan interrupted with a laugh, not believing him for a second. "If you, Movie King Yan, weren't planning on coming anyway, you wouldn't have answered even if I called a hundred times! So, what are you really up to? Since today's host is my best friend, maybe she can help you out!"
Feibai quickly glanced in Qin Manrong's direction, his expression unchanged as he smoothly masked any hint of his earlier intensity: "It's just a personal matter. I'll handle it myself."
The launch of Qin's Technology's first smartphone was unexpectedly successful, thanks to Kuang Wan's endorsement.
At the celebration party, Qin Manrong pulled Kuang Wan aside to express her gratitude: "Wan, thank you!"
Kuang Wan smiled and patted her hand. "Come on, we're best friends. No need for formalities! If you really want to thank me, let's drink until we drop!"
Manrong hesitated, a wry smile slowly appearing on her face: "I can't stay long. You saw it too—I came alone, and if the media or those nosy folks see Gu Jingming with Lyi Jing, it'll be all over the gossip columns."
Following her gaze, Wan saw Gu Jingming mingling with the crowd, Lyi Jing clinging to his side like the perfect trophy wife. With a dismissive snort, she grabbed Manrong's hand and turned away: "I thought it was something serious! With that jerk out of the picture, there are plenty of great guys here. Let me introduce you to someone!"
