C12 As Expected of a Playboy

Su Xiaoyu's first thought for someone who could help her out of her current predicament was, naturally, her older brother. But if Su Mo found out about these things, he would definitely insist on sending her back home himself, which would be counterproductive.

Her second closest friend was her best friend, Chiang Tang, who was still in the States. Unfortunately, a friend far away couldn't help with her immediate crisis, so she had to think of something else.

Aside from Su Mo and Chiang Tang, her closest friend back home was Muh Jiuer. But just thinking about Jiuer being infatuated with Shen Juchuan's good looks at the bar made Xiaoyu not want to rely on this unreliable friend!

Who else could she turn to?

Su Xiaoyu thought for a long time but couldn't come up with a way to save herself!

"I'll count to three. If you don't come out, I'm coming in." The jingling keys came to a halt, and for the first time, Shen Juchuan found them endearing, his mood growing increasingly cheerful.

"One!"

Su Xiaoyu had no doubt that Shen Juchuan might actually break in.

"Two!"

What should she do?

"Three!"

Just as Shen Juchuan turned the key to enter, Su Xiaoyu quickly grabbed a can of air freshener from the sink.

Shen Juchuan didn't want to be sprayed with such a cheap "perfume" after just getting cleaned up, so he lunged forward to snatch what Su Xiaoyu considered her "pepper spray."

In the tussle, Su Xiaoyu's foot slipped.

Instinctively, she reached out to grab anything that might steady her.

Shen Juchuan wasn't prepared for this mishap and watched as the towel around his waist slipped to the floor.

"Ah..."

A piercing scream echoed through the entire suite. If it weren't for the excellent soundproofing, the scream, which sounded like a crime scene, might have alerted hotel security.

"Pervert!"

Su Xiaoyu shoved the now-exposed Shen Juchuan aside and bolted for the door.

As for the security system and any alarms, they were the last things on Su Xiaoyu's mind at that moment.

To hell with it all!

Su Xiaoyu didn't even bother with the elevator. She followed the emergency exit signs and dashed down several flights of stairs without stopping, as if a pack of wolves were on her heels. Only when she burst through the hotel's front doors and returned to the apartment she shared with Jiuer did she finally pause, her face still flushed.

Every time she thought about accidentally seeing Shen Juchuan in all his glory, her heart raced uncontrollably, almost like she was having a heart attack. She couldn't calm down. She punched the soft couch and hugged a pillow, trying hard to steady herself.

But her mind wouldn't cooperate. It kept replaying the image of Shen Juchuan's devilish smile and his well-defined abs. Su Xiaoyu was utterly frustrated. Was she really that easily swayed by a handsome face?

Determined to get back at him, Su Xiaoyu vowed to make Shen Juchuan pay at work the next day for the unwanted show.

The next morning, as Shen Juchuan stepped out of the elevator, he noticed a large rubber spider at his feet. Its abdomen had red markings, and the rest was pitch black, about the size of a man's hand. He chuckled softly, picked it up quickly, and slipped it into his briefcase while Su Xiaoyu pretended to work diligently.

He didn't mind playing along with this little wildcat.

As he passed his assistant's desk, Shen Juchuan tapped his fingers on the surface to get her attention. "Bring in a cup of coffee, and let me know today's schedule."

Su Xiaoyu tried to calm her racing heart and stuck her tongue out at his retreating back before obediently heading to make the coffee. He almost devoured her yesterday, and today he acted like nothing happened. Typical playboy!

Carrying her anger, Su Xiaoyu smirked as she added her own salt to the coffee. Shen Juchuan loved to boss her around, right? Well, he could enjoy her special sea salt coffee! It was going to be absolutely fantastic!

With the itinerary tucked under her arm and balancing the cup and saucer in her hands, Su Xiaoyu carefully stepped into the CEO's office.

"Ah..."

"Ah..."

"Ah..."

As Su Xiaoyu pushed open the office door with her elbow, a huge spider dropped onto her. Instinctively, she tossed the coffee and papers into the air, and just before closing her eyes, she stepped onto the leather armchair, which seemed safer in her high heels.

"Hahaha..." Shen Juchuan, sitting behind his desk, couldn't hold back his laughter. Moments later, he burst into a fit of laughter, clutching his stomach.

After a few startled cries, Su Xiaoyu was also interrupted by Shen Juchuan's laughter. As she calmed down, her gaze fell on the spider in the sea salt coffee, and she quickly pieced it together.

Glaring at Shen Juchuan, Su Xiaoyu demanded, "Why is there a spider here?"

Shen Juchuan, still chuckling and rubbing his lips, squinted and replied, "This spider? Shouldn't I be asking Assistant Su why there's a spider in the office?"
