"Nothing," Xiaoyu coughed lightly. "Even if you don't care about your reputation, the rest of the Shen family certainly does."
"Are you threatening me?" Juchuan asked, his tone dangerous.
"That's not what I meant," Xiaoyu quickly adjusted her expression. "I'm not holding a grudge for your personal attacks. In return, you should give me a place to stay."
Juchuan looked at Xiaoyu, utterly incredulous at her audacity.
"Forget it. I'm not going to make trouble for myself," Juchuan said, restarting the car.
Xiaoyu was Su Mo's sister, and Juchuan had heard how much Su Mo doted on her. Having Xiaoyu work nearby was one thing, but bringing her home was another. He didn't want any friction with Su Mo; it wouldn't be beneficial for him.
But Juchuan didn't expect Xiaoyu to be so bold. She tossed her suitcase aside and rushed toward his car.
Juchuan's expression tightened as Xiaoyu swiftly reached the passenger side, her arm darting into the car. Her movements were smooth and efficient, yet nerve-wracking to watch.
"Xiaoyu, are you out of your mind?" Juchuan's face darkened. Fortunately, he hadn't started the car. If he had, the consequences could have been disastrous.
Xiaoyu knew this was her advantage; she was confident Juchuan wouldn't harm her.
"Unlock the door," Xiaoyu commanded.
Juchuan glared at her but eventually relented. With a click, the door unlocked.
Xiaoyu quickly slid into the seat and glanced at the suitcase in front of the car. "Go get my suitcase."
"You really think I'm your chauffeur and porter?" Juchuan replied coldly.
"Are you going to get it or not?" Xiaoyu tilted her head slightly, implying he'd regret it if he didn't.
Shen Juchuan looked at her, his anger turning into a laugh. Su Xiaoyu watched him step out of the car with a smug smile on her face. The fiery red car rumbled down the main road, and Su Xiaoyu sat in the passenger seat, watching the buildings zip by. Shen Juchuan glanced at her from the corner of his eye, then accelerated. Su Xiaoyu didn't mind; she actually enjoyed the feeling of the wind rushing by.
The car soon stopped in front of a villa. "I didn't expect you to live so lavishly," Su Xiaoyu remarked, admiring the European-style architecture with a modern twist. Shen Juchuan ignored her, slammed the car door shut, and headed inside. Su Xiaoyu followed him but then turned back halfway.
Standing at the villa's entrance, she set her suitcase aside and eagerly took in Shen Juchuan's home. The decor was modern, exuding luxury and elegance. As she looked around, she couldn't help but click her tongue in appreciation.
When Shen Juchuan came downstairs, he found Su Xiaoyu lingering in the living room. His brow furrowed slightly as he approached her. Su Xiaoyu was engrossed in watching the fish tank in the corner of the room, so much so that she didn't notice Shen Juchuan's presence.
It wasn't until Shen Juchuan heard her muttering that his expression turned peculiar. "Hey, Blackie, what are you doing? Why aren't you moving? Look at Red, so lively. You should learn from it," she said, her tone cheerful.
Shen Juchuan's face darkened. "What are you doing?"
"Oh, I'm just seeing when these fish will grow up," Su Xiaoyu replied without a second thought.
"What are you doing?"
"Of course, it's to eat," Xiaoyu replied, sticking to her usual straightforward style.
Juchuan's expression darkened immediately. "I think you'd make a fine meal yourself. How about I start with you?"
Realizing something was off, Xiaoyu hesitated and turned to face him, only to meet Juchuan's teasing gaze.
"What are you doing?" Xiaoyu quickly jumped to the side, but she overestimated her agility and, more importantly, underestimated Juchuan's quick reflexes.
"What am I doing? Obviously, I'm going to eat you," Juchuan said, leaning closer to Xiaoyu's neck, his eyes glinting with mischief. It dawned on Xiaoyu that their proximity was too close for comfort; she could even feel the warmth of his breath on her neck.
The word "eat" from Juchuan's lips took on a more suggestive meaning.
Xiaoyu's face flushed red as she quickly stepped back, putting some distance between them, finally able to breathe more easily.
"Why did you suddenly appear so close to me?" Xiaoyu's voice trailed off as she spoke.
