C23 When Interviewed

"If you give up on this role, I will reconsider giving her another chance!" Bai Luofan smirked and placed the letter of cancellation in Yan Xi's hand. "The decision is yours, afterall you know I care about you the most."

It was his sweet talk that Yan Xi had fell for before but to this day, his sweet talk no longer has any effect on her.

"Luofan, I care about you too, that's why from now on, Sister Xia is no longer my agent." Yan Xi looked at Bai Luofan. All that has happened is what she expected.

She walked Sister Xia out of Bai Luofan's office, took a deep breath and said, "Sister Xia, you're no longer my agent, you can do whatever you want from now on."

She handed the letter to Sister Xia. Bai Luofan chased after them and yelled, "Yan Xi, what is this!"

It was because Bai Luofan found a copy of the employment contract inside the contract, Sister Xia had brought. It was a contract Yan Xi wanted to employ Sister Xia as her special assistant.

The commencement date was today.

"Huh? Is there a problem? " Yan Xi asked although she knew the answer. She held Sister Xia's arm and said, "I like working with Sister Xia. After you sign your end of the contract, I'll be joining the film crew. Of course I need someone I'm familiar with to take care of me."

"Sister Xia fits the position perfectly."

She was driving Bai Luofan crazy by the minute.

"Get in here!" He grabbed Yan Xi but she dodged his grasp.

"If there is something you want to say, then hurry up and say it. I don't have alot of time, I have lots of things to do." Yan Xi being Chiang Mochen's wife aleady, she knew she needed to keep her distance from other men.

The calmer Yan Xi was, the more angrier Bai Luofan got.

"I thought you were ignorant but I didn't expect you to be irrational. What right do you have to employ her?"

"Don't all the artists have the right to choose their own assistants? Why is it such a big deal when I want hire an assistant? If Chiang Yumeng wanted an assistant, would you have gotten so angry?"

"Yan Xi!"

Bai Luofan yelled out her name.

"You don't have yell, I can hear you perfectly. I have put my efforts genuinely to what I have achieved to now. If you are disagreeing to my second female lead in 'The Evening' and me employing Sister Xia as my special assistant, at least give a a reasonable excuse to convince me instead of yelling at me in front of your office."

"You have changed, you weren't like this before!"

"Am I the only one who's changed?" Yan Xi's heart no longer ached as it did before. Seeing Bai Luofan act so hard in this charade was a joke.

Bai Luofan frowned, while he gripped the contract tightly, "I don't want to marry a woman that is a stranger to me. We will have the marriage registered extended indefinitely!"

He had used this to threatened Yan Xi many times.

He purposely made a regretful expression while he waited for Yan Xi to backdown and admit that everything she had done was out of pretense.

The corridor area where they were standing became still.

Yan Xi looked malancholy at Bai Luofan as if she was thinking.

Just when Bai Luofan thought he succeed in Yan Xi backing down, she said coldly, "Alright, that's fine with me!"

Bai Luofan was completely stunned with her response.

He thought he had misheard her and grabbed Yan Xi's wrist very hard. "Did you not hear what I just said? I'm talking about our marriage!"

"There is nothing wrong with my hearing, I heard you loud and clear. Since you said you don't want to marry a stranger and wish to postpone the marriage register, what can I do other than agree?"

Yan Xi's reaction was quick and decisive. Staying away from Bai Luofan was her best choice. She did not regret what she decided and said today.

Sister Xia snorted and followed Yan Xi to get in the elevator.

Bai Luofan noticed the change in Yan Xi, but he didn't have time to understand what had happened as he was in a hurry to comfort Chiang Yumeng. Bai Luofan believed after some time Yan Xi will be back to her usual self and give in.

This was because when he always thought Yan Xi was his beck and call.

What he didn't know was Yan Xi had woken up and has a clearer mind. To cry a river for him? He wasn't worth it!

Being the weak Yan Xi only existed in the memories of the past. She already had Chiang Mochen's affection so she didn't need anything or anyone else.

"Yan Xi, is everthing alright?"

Sister Xia had seen her compromise many times for Bai Luofan and worried that she would fall for his lies again.

"Does not everthing look fine?" Yan Xi's eyes looked very calm, she didn't take the squabble just now with Bai Luofan seriously, "I am seeing things clearly now. To Bai Luofan, I was just a pawn for him to use as he pleases. I won't feel sad because of them anymore."

She has already given her heart to Chiang Mochen.

"Alright, I'm relieved after hearing you say that. I think Bai Luofan won't dare to not sign the contract. I will meet with Director Chen tomorrow again to discuss the details."

"Okay, Sister Xia. I know I can trust in you to handle things without any difficulties."

Yan Xi smiled sweetly. Since her debut, Sister Xia had always been there, she was loyal to her and helped her settle issues countless times.

After they went their own ways, Yan Xi found herself in good spirits. She took a taxi to Dahua Entertainment and stood at the entrance of the building, hesitating. Her marriage with Chiang Mochen had yet to be made public, so was it a little inappropriate for her to suddenly go to his office?

Not sure how to explain her visit to the reception at the front desk.

Yan Xi sighed. She suddenly regretted her decision for going to the office. Turning around, just as she was about to leave, a familiar and domineering voice called out from behind her. "Stop right there!"

An assistant noticed Yan Xi upstairs and informed Chiang Mochen

After all, a beautiful woman like Yan Xi would be easily recognized.

While she turned around, he frowned a bit and walked towards her. In his hypnotice voice he asked "Aren't you here to see me?"

"I am …" Yan Xi subconsciously opened her mouth, then shyly lowered her head, "I wasn't sure how to ask to see you. I mean, you are the CEO of the Dahua Group, and we …"

She felt lost, she didn't know what to do.

"You never thought of this when you proposed to me?" He asked without hiding anything, which made Yan Xi embarrassed instantly.

"I …"

Her reaction was exceptionally cute. Chiang Mochen dark eyes was attracted to Yan Xi, so he turned to his assistant and made a decisive decision. He ordered, "Postpone the tonight's dinner." He then took Yan Xi's hand and led her to the car.

"Am I bothering your work?" Yan Xi blinked in surprise, still holding his warm hand.

"Dummy, of course not …" Chiang Mochen let the driver stay behind and he drove the car instead "Besides, I also wanted to see you."

It seemed they were thinking the same thing.

Yan Xi was bewitched by his words and his side profile, especially when he had a faint smile.

Yan Xi indulged herself at looking at the man beside her, not wanting to miss any expressions he gave. After driving for a while, Yan Xi asked, "Where are we going?"

Instead of answering, Chiang Mochen reached over, held Yan Xi's hand gently and said, "You'll know when we arrive there. There's still some distance to go. You should rest a while."

"Hmm" Yan Xi agreed. Being with him, she was absolutely at ease.
