C13 Chapter 13 Why did you kill him

"In a flash, Caleb has passed away for five years." He stirred the dumplings in the bowl slowly, with his eyes looking down slightly. Grace could not see the expression on his face.

Grace lowered her head subconsciously and did not dare to speak.

Of course, she remembered Caleb"s death. For five years, Carl has taken "extra care" of her every day. Every year on this date, she was painful to death and miserable. How could she forget?

This year, she finally ran out of the mental hospital. She thought she could escape. Unexpectedly, he came in person.

He squinted his beautiful eyes and looked at her, compressed his lips and said, "Why? Did you forget your former husband when you have a new love?"

"I have never forgotten Caleb." Grace recovered and whispered softly.

He was the only one in the world who was kind to her. How could she forget him? It was a pity that everyone thought she was the murderer for five years, and she didn"t even have the qualification to mourn for him.

"Then why did you kill him?" Carl smashed the chopsticks on the table with a loud sound and grunted coldly, "Grace, you are so ruthless."

Grace stared at him stubbornly with her head held high and refused to say more than a word of explanation.

She was misunderstood too much, so she didn"t want to struggle any more.

But her attitude seemed to annoy him.

He rushed to her suddenly, grabbed her by the neck, gnashed his teeth and said, "Grace, say something. Didn't you argue a lot before? Why don"t you talk now?"

"What else can I say?" She smiled wryly and said with difficulty, "You have sentenced me to death five years ago anyway. Will it be useful for me to explain more?"

Hearing her words, his fingers quivered slightly and his eyes changed rapidly.

After a long time, he said in a hoarse voice, "This time, if you say it, I will believe you."

"Ha ha." Grace seemed to hear the funniest joke in the world and laughed out loud.

With a ridiculous smile, her tears fell down by surprise.

She stared at him and sneered, "Carl, why did you put me in Caleb"s bed five years ago? You know the one I like was you."

He was the God in her heart at that time. In a word, she could give him her life.

But he must put her in another man"s bed.

It was quite sarcastic.

Hearing her words, Carl"s pretty eyes darkened and he loosened his hands around her neck suddenly.

"Because Caleb liked you." It was a long time before he whispered, "I promised him that I would give him whatever he liked."

"But I am not an article, I am a human being, a living person, I have my own thoughts and feelings, I can make my own choices, do you know the feeling of being put onto the bed of other man by the person I loved? It was more painful than death." Grace laughed sarcastically and her tears flowed more fiercely.

She was not an emotional person, but she felt too wronged.

The tears she has been holding back for five years finally lost control.

She hugged her knees and huddled up in the corner, crying loudly.

She knew she shouldn"t cry in front of Carl. He hated her and the way she cried would only make him feel sick, but she really couldn"t help it.

And he stood straight and looked at her, without saying a word.

Grace has always been stubborn and obdurate in his heart over the years. Tonight, she looked like a pitiful kitty, huddling into a small ball, making his heart ache inexplicably.

He stretched out his hand dully and reached to her head slowly, trying to touch her.

But the next second, he drew back his hand as if wakening from a dream, turned around and left quickly.

No... He couldn"t...

When Grace gathered her wits together, Carl was already gone.

Only the unfinished dumplings and a room of slight brightness remained.

She sniffed, huddled up on the sofa and closed her eyes slowly.

This sleep was not stable and and she dreamed in a daze again.

In the dream, she felt like returning to the night five years ago, which was the first time she was invited to a large-scale performance. She was wearing a long black dress, sitting in front of the white grand piano, playing gracefully and singing Carl"s favorite "City of the Sky" in an ethereal voice.

Carl and Caleb sat in the first row of the audience and kept cheering for her.

Her eyes crossed tens of millions of people and only looked at Carl.

She remembered he had said that when she sang, she shined with boundless radiance, and he was willing to be her only minister.

But in the end, Grace woke up crying.

She covered her mouth and did not want to hear the ugly sound of her voice.

Such a voice made her feel sick even when she heard it herself.

The radiant Grace finally died and was strangled by Carl with his own hands.

Just then, her cell phone on the table rang untimely.

The call came from the sanatorium. She wiped away her tears and slid the answer key.

"Grace, Aaron is missing." Before she said anything, the dean"s anxious voice came.

"What?" Grace got a big fright and hurriedly asked, "How can he just disappear?"

"We don"t know either, we was planning to send Aaron to the hospital for surgery in the morning, but there was no one in the ward, the doctors and the nurses said they didn"t see him either." The dean said, "I sent people to search all the sanatoriums, but we still couldn"t find him."

"Stop searching. He is definitely not in the sanatorium anymore." Grace gave a wry smile and understood immediately.

Aaron was a living person and could not disappear for no reason. Someone must have bought the sanatorium and transferred him.

The only person with this ability and motivation in Romantic city was Carl.

She knew that Carl would not let her go easily.

Thinking of it, she hung up the phone, tidied herself up simply, then went out and hurried to Carl"s private villa.

Standing at the door of the villa, she summoned sufficient courage and rang the doorbell.

After a long while, the door slowly opened.

Carl stood at the door with irritability on his face. When he saw her, he frowned slightly, stood sideways in her way, and compressed his lips slightly. "Grace, why are you here?"

"I"m looking for Aaron." She came straight to the point, "Carl, our business has nothing to do with Aaron. It doesn"t matter how you punish me, but please leave him alone."

Hearing what she said, Carl was somewhat confused.

But he didn"t say much about it, but lowered his voice and said, "Grace, you go back first. I"ll talk to you about Aaron later."

"He is going to have an operation today, you must give him back to me..." She frowned.

"I told you to go back first." He interrupted her with displeasure and his voice raised a little.

"Who is it?" Just then, a dignified voice came from the villa.

Grace"s body shook and the whole person froze in place. Why was he here?
