They finally heard Claus’s groan over the comm. He had avoided a bullet but hit his wounded side in the process…the reason he groaned.

“Are you okay?” Mia asked, trying to check him out.

“That was close. We need to go.”

“Claus,” Cody’s voice crackled over comms, strained but alive. “Talk to me, brother. You still breathing?”
