C8 BUSINESS MEEETING IN BANGKOK

It’s been almost two months that Seigfred consistently showed to Atty. Yhera his sincere intentions. He has lots of surprises for his lady love. He won’t stop to invite for a date until Yhera would give in.

Yhera could not resist the love and affection generously being showered to her by Seigfred. In her mind she is already contemplating to make a bold decision of trying to fall in love again. She remembers her motivational talks a year ago; every time she had a talk, she would always leave these words, “It is through trying that we learn and became successful; So, keep trying, you will never know, the last try might be the final ladder to success”.

Atty. Yhera’s moment has been disturbed by the sound of her ringing phone. Seigfred is calling. She answered the phone with a smile on her lips.

“Hello, my wonderful and beautiful Attorney,” Seigfred’s introduction.

“Hmm, any legal problem Mr. Yee?" she teased the man.

“Nope, got a different problem. I would be flying to Bangkok for a new business deal next week. I need a good lawyer beside me to check all the contracts that I am going to sign just in case we seal the deal impromptu.” the man’s voice seems serious.

Atty. Yhera is quite intelligent not to know what Seigfred wanted to happen, but of course, she will apply first the office protocol, “Ahhh, we need to check with all the lawyers here who will be available to join you next week.”

“I did that already with your Firm’s Senior Partners, I requested your presence Atty. Yhera,” always Seigfred would not allow No for an answer.

“Do I still have a choice Mr. Yee?”

“Nope, I know your schedules hahaha.”

“Hayys, you are a very eagle eyed businessman indeed!”

Both of them are laughing while saying goodbye on the phone.

A week after, Atty. Yhera have readied her luggage already for tomorrow’s flight to Bangkok. As usual, she got the Senior Partners’ teasing because of this out of the country’s business get away with Mr. Seigfred Yee.

She was fetched by Seigfred from home going to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. They boarded on a business class seat with the Philippine Airlines. Yhera is uncomfortable because they are seating side by side while Seigfred seems so relax and enjoying the moment. Yhera unconsciously fall asleep during the half-time of their more than three hours flight. Their flight was around 6:30 in the morning, so around four in the morning they were already heading to the airport. Seigfred from time to time is glancing at the sleeping woman beside him, until he too falls into his deep slumber. They were awakened upon the announcement that they are about to landalready in Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport.

It took them almost forty minutes from the Airport going to Park Hyatt Hotel in Bangkok. They were picked-up by the hotel’s limousine from the airport. The Hotel is located at the heart of the Thai Capital’s Central Business District.

This is the second time that Yhera was able to check-in in this Hotel, ‘though it’s her third time to visit Thailand.

They were booked for a separate Ambassador’s Suite at Park Hyatt. In a way, Atty. Yhera has been amazed. Staying for one night in an Ambassador’s Suite will costs more or less US$900.00 or around PhP45,000.00. They will be staying at Park Hyatt for three days. Anyway, for a man like Mr. Seigfred Yee, US$6,000 for a Hotel accommodation might still be a modest one.

Seigfred’s first meeting is at two in the afternoon. He said he is going to meet the owner of the land, where their Company is going to construct the new condominium building in Bangkok.

As they met the man at the Living Room Veranda area of Park Hyatt, the Contract of Lease being discussed is for thirty years or the maximum years that a foreigner or foreign corporation may lease a land in Bangkok.

Atty. Yhera intently listens to Seigfred as he tried to haggle to lower down the rate of lease. In the end, both parties were able to agree by meeting halfway. Still, Seigfred was able to get at least a twenty percent discount on the original proposed lease rate of the Thai Land Owner.

As a Lawyer, Atty. Yhera secured the contract. She further proposed to include in the Contract of Lease that the land shall not be offered for lease to a third party prior to its expiry, unless the lessee shall confirm in writing its decision not to renew it. The Thai Land owner agreed.

Atty. Yhera did not wonder why Seigfred decided to choose the Living Room Veranda area as the place for their meeting. The airy ambiance and magnificent art installations in the Living Room is very inviting and relaxing. It is as if, there is no room for negativity. No wonder, Seigfred was able to get a good deal.

After the meeting, Seigfred took her to level 35M where the Penthouse bar and grill is located. It is time for them to have a heavy meal. During the meeting, they only have their barista-made coffee. The Thai land owner, refused to eat even a light meal.

While having their dinner, Seigfred could not control himself to stare at Yhera most of the time.

"Atty. Yhera, I am very lucky to have you here, I know any contract that I am going to sign here will always be safe and our Company will not be in the losing end." Seigfred said while intently looking at the woman beside him.

Yhera became conscious, “Would you mind, to refrain from staring at me most of the time Mr. Yee? I feel uncomfortable,” she said this with a grin.

“Hmm, did I do that?” Seigfred teased Yhera and laughed.

“Of course you did! My eyes can see the truth and my lips will tell the truth.” Yhera jokingly got her glass of fruit juice and motioned to Seigfred to have a toast.

Slowly Seigfred get his glass of juice, while his eyes never left Atty. Yhera’s lips, “Cheers my fierce and pretty Attorney!”
