C13 A big question

CHAPTER 13

Grey pack...

All the elders and chiefs and Alpha Devon were seated at the pack's meeting hall.

"Bringing Emma to the grand conference hall only brought disgrace and shame upon Grey pack" One of the elders spoke up.

Alpha Devon placed his arms on the table with his fingers crossed against each other. He was lost in his thought as he had flashes of what Emma did at the grand hall.

The alpha gave deaf ears to the elder's complaint.

Flashback...

Emma was about to take Charlotte's hand when she glanced at everyone in the grand hall and Emma ran out of the hall.

"Emma!" Charlotte called out as she ran after Emma.

Flashback ends.

"If Emma isn't going to side with us, I believe it's time we get rid of her before she becomes a threat to us" One of the chiefs Celina said and her statement caught Devon's attention.

"What did you just say?" Alpha Devon asked seriously as he stood up.

Everyone swallowed back their words.

"Why are you all so desperate? Does this situation right now deserve this kind of conversation?" Alpha Devon added with a frown.

"Losing the support of other packs isn't good for us. We need resources from other packs so we can survive. It's understandable how everyone resents Emma right now. How are we supposed to raise our heads high if we can't even provide for the rest of our pack" Kent uttered and Alpha Devon looked at him?

"And who said we can't survive just because we lost the support of some elders? Grey pack is known for its wealth and resources. I don't think, thoughts of surviving should be our worry right now. And blaming Emma for everything isn't right either. I can't believe you all placed your hopes on a mere slave" Alpha Devon said anxiously.

Everyone swallowed hard at Devon's words.

"You should all be bringing up solutions on how to conquer the silver lake pack. Alpha Grayson is the biggest threat to your survival right now" Alpha Devon said in a high tone.

Kent looked at the alpha when a message came on his phone.

"Sire, what do you have in mind? I don't see alpha Grayson as much of a threat since he hasn't been made the true Alpha yet. He purposely didn't attend the meeting because he got something to protect" Celina said.

"And what's that?" Alpha Devon asked curiously.

"His true identity. He can only clean up the past with a great fortune and that's getting married to the daughter of the moon goddess" The chief said and Devon smirked.

"Celina, have you been doing an undercover investigation on Grayson?" Alpha Devon asked.

"My apologies, sire but I think this is what we should do to help out in the crises in our clan" Celina uttered professionally.

Alpha Devon and Kent looked at each other.

"Guards!" Devon called out and some guards rushed into the hall.

"Fetch Emma" Devon ordered and the guards ran along immediately.

"Sire, why are you summoning Emma if I may ask?" Kent asked curiously.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm renouncing my decree on Emma" Devon said with a half smile and Kent took a few steps backward.

Everyone's jaw dropped in shock.

"What!" The elders and chiefs murmured to themselves.

Emma was brought into the hall as she stood a few steps away from the Alpha.

"You summoned for me sire" Emma uttered in a low tone.

"Emma, what do you think we should do to Alpha Grayson since he's indirectly trying to bring me to harm's way?" Alpha Devon asked with a thunderous tone.

Emma raised her face and the eyes of the elders and chiefs landed on her.

What a cunning question coming from someone who kills without hesitation and gets rid of you might as well sound like a brilliant plan. Emma uttered in her head furiously.

"What are you waiting for? You should go ahead and answer the question" Kent cut in through her thoughts.

"Since Alpha Grayson hasn't done anything severe so far so it's advisable you just get rid of his confidence and that would push him back to zero" Emma suggested and everyone nodded in agreement.

"How about you help me do that?" Alpha Devon asked and Emma frowned.

"I'm sorry sir but I don't get you" Emma played dumb.

"Renounce my decree of making Emma a slave. Her title will be given back to her, not as the princess of the shadow pack but as the Luna of Grey pack. Emma I accept you as my mate" Alpha Devon announced and Emma looked at him in shock.

"But Emma does no longer hold a title to support her position. She can't be made your Luna since she's the daughter of a traitor" Celina protested.

Alpha Devon glared at her.

"Are you trying to rebuke my order? Or are you trying to rebel?" Alpha Devon asked coldly.

Celina stood up and bowed immediately.

"I wouldn't dare, sire," She said sharply.

"It's my choice whoever I make my Luna so watch whatever you say, I'm not going to sit back and listen to ridiculous scandals about Emma or my decision," Alpha Devon said defiantly and everyone shut up.

Kent turned to Emma and bowed.

"Welcome to Grey pack, milady" Kent said respectfully and everyone followed.

Emma stood still not getting the whole situation.

For some strange reason, I feel great. Kent has never shown me this sort of respect before, he only did when I was engaged to the Alpha. Being the Luna doesn't sound like a bad idea, all I needed is the power to get what I want and it's been offered to me in a plate of gold. Emma said in her head and a smile appeared on her lips.

"Thank you and I hope we work together to make Grey pack a great place" Emma uttered politely.

"How sure are we that you wouldn't betray us and our pack?" One of the elders asked with a frown.

"You don't have to force yourself into trusting me. I will win over your trust and if you're all scared about the wrongdoings of my parents then I assure you that I will never follow in their footsteps. They were the ones who did wrong and I can't defend them for the rest of my life" Emma said politely.

"Alright then. Celina, I will be leaving Emma in your care. You have to groom her on the rules and regulations of Grey pack before our wedding takes place. I'm trusting you on this" Alpha Devon ordered then left the meeting hall after.

Silver lake pack...

Tristan ran into Grayson's study room.

"What's the hurry? You don't look good either" Max uttered.

"A crescent wedding will be taking place in Grey pack soon" Tristan broke the news and Grayson looked at him in shock.

"It's not what I'm thinking right?" Grayson gasped.

"Alpha Devon suddenly renounce his decree on Emma, I think he plans on making her his luna" Tristan uttered.

Grayson clenched his fist and hit it hard on the table angrily.

"I guess our plan flopped once again. Alpha Devon beat us to it then what's the use of our plan of missing the grand hall? We're back to zero" Max said seriously.

"Nothing's certain now so before the wedding approaches. We would do everything in our power to get Emma here. If I can't have her then no one can" Grayson said angrily.

"Being the Luna of Grey pack is quite a tempting position. Do you think she will decline the decree just to get to Charlotte?" Max asked staring at Grayson.

"It would be of great advantage if Emma gets here of her free will. As long as she remains in the grey pack, it's to our own disadvantage" Tristan uttered.

Grayson stood up from his seat and slipped his palms into his pocket.

"It's too much of a hassle convincing Emma to come here, she's quite persistent. I don't think it's time for us to go in slow motion. We need a little bit of force for things to go on our way" Grayson said with a blank expression.

"First of all, your wedding with Charlotte should be tomorrow and this information should get to Emma before sunset today" Grayson ordered.

"If we push the wedding to tomorrow then I don't think it's a crescent wedding and it will be too obvious that we have other intentions" Tristan protested.

"My future is already being jeopardized so I see nothing wrong with pushing things harder. We need to cleanse Alpha Grayson's wrong reputation if we are indeed pushing through to make him the true Alpha" Max said anxiously.

"What's so wrong with Alpha Grayson's reputation for us to cleanse it by making Emma his Luna? It doesn't matter what others say but he became the Alpha because he fought for it. He only got rid of his brother the late Alpha Axel because he wasn't competent and worthy of being the alpha" Tristan uttered seriously and Grayson glared at him.

"That statement has been forbidden for years so how dare you bring that up when I'm being pressured as it stands," Grayson said angrily.

"My apologies, sire. It slipped out" Tristan apologized.

"The both of you leave. I want to be left alone" Grayson said coldly as he turned around giving them his back.

Max glared at Tristan who was feeling so remorseful already.

They both left the study room and Grayson held his chest as he suddenly felt so suffocated. He gasped for air as he reminisces on what happened in the past.

Flashback...

Grayson badged into the room of his brother.

"Just because father handed over his crown doesn't make you the rightful owner. What makes you think you're way better than me in anything? You're only privileged" Grayson yelled with jealousy written all over his face.

"If you think I tampered with the results and desires of father just so I can be here then I dare you to fight me over it. Don't go easy on me" Alpha Axel challenged.

"I'm the rightful heir of silver lake pack and I won't go easy on you for taking what belongs to me. You know so well how much I hate others taking away my things" Grayson said angrily.

"You probably feel that way because you think everything belongs to you but you don't know what it feels like if you chew more than you can swallow. You might choke on this one" Axel uttered calmly and his words triggered Grayson's anger.

Surprisingly he lost control of his powers as he transformed immediately and he gave Axel a deep cut on his chest.

"I said you shouldn't go easy on me but why did you..." Axel uttered slowly then fell to the ground as he bleed continuously.

"Brother!" Grayson called out in shock as he realized what he just did and he transformed back immediately.

Flashback ends...

Grayson's eyes turned red as tears gathered in his eyes.

"It wasn't intentional. I didn't do it" Grayson screamed and his eyes turned yellow as his claws came out.

..."Do you think you will be a good leader if I pass on my responsibility to you?" Axel's faint words flashed in Grayson's head.

Grey pack...

Celina brought Emma to the training ground for the royals.

"Wow, it's beautiful. I've never been here before" Emma exclaimed.

"If you meant all of the promises you made earlier about making the Grey pack a greater place then I advise you to put all your heart into being of greater help to the Alpha and to be a competent Luna of the Grey pack, you should first learn to defend yourself," Celina said coldly.

"I've made up my mind so I will appreciate it if you assist me with all your heart as well," Emma said politely.

"Then don't feel bad if I go hard on you," Celina said and she grabbed Emma's arms and flipped her over to the ground in seconds.

Emma landed on the ground before she even realize it.

Celina glared at her.

"What are you still doing on the ground?" Celina asked coldly.

"Do you think you deserve to be the Luna?" Celina asked seriously.
