C18 Who's more important

CHAPTER 18

Sophia turned to Alpha Devon with a smile as she sat up.

"Sire, what do you mean? I'd been locked up here, how do you expect me to go after Emma? Even though I wish to, I can't because of this hell of a dungeon" Sophia said seriously.

"You had a hand in what happened today and I'm not going to spare you for that so keep that in mind" Alpha Devon threatened then walked out of her cell.

"Sophia's cell should be guarded heavenly by twenty guards. She can't see the ray of light not after my wedding to Emma. Do you get that?" Alpha Devon instructed strictly the guards guarding the dungeon.

....

Alpha Devon went back to his chambers and his eyes caught the moon calendar on the wall.

Oh no, the blood moon will be approaching soon. The prophecy will be taking place soon. Alpha Devon gasped in his head.

"Sire, you're not sleeping now?" Emma asked from behind as she came out of the bedroom and Devon hide the calendar.

"Why are you up already? You couldn't fall asleep?" Alpha Devon asked.

"I fell asleep for a bit but I realized you're not back yet so I decided to come to have a look" Emma replied.

"You're beginning to care for me and that's not good for you. You're not having second thoughts about your revenge on me right?" Devon said and Emma looked at him a bit worried.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. What revenge? I advise you don't say that in the presence of others, they may think I'm planning on committing treason" Emma lied as she tried so hard to hide her fear.

Alpha Devon walked up to her and lean forward.

"If you wish to get rid of me then do it directly. Don't go behind doors just to achieve your goals. If you're done checking up on me, you should head back to the bedroom" Devon said coldly then sat down on a couch.

Emma swallowed hard as she blinked nervously and went back to the bedroom.

Her heart raced nervously and anxiously.

The alpha sounds like he knows everything about my plans but why's he trying to get married to me? Emma questioned in her head a bit confused.

Silver lake pack...

Grayson and some guards are at the training ground.

"What's the point of training if I can never get into the war field with other Alphas" Grayson sighed frustratedly.

"At least, this is all you need to keep your position as the Alpha and you're handling it pretty well," Tristan said as he walked into the training field.

Grayson looked at him.

"How're the rumors in town? It has all subsided right?" Grayson asked.

"The rumors seem to be affecting the decision of the elders of the grand hall" Tristan informed.

"It all happened because of what you said. You couldn't even watch your tone or your words. What do you plan on doing about the rumors? What a ridiculous rumor that I got enthroned wrongly" Grayson said furiously.

"It will all subside after the blood moon. You don't have to worry much about it" Tristan assured.

Grayson exhaled frustratedly as he looked away.

"Where the hell have Max been? I haven't seen him for days now" Grayson added.

"Well, Max hasn't been doing much lately. Although it's been hard to catch a glimpse of him" Tristan said and Grayson walked out of the training field as he head to Max's house.

"Max!" Grayson called out angrily.

Max was seated in a corner with his legs crossed against the other.

"Where the hell have you been? Haven't you heard of the rumors? How come you're so calm when I'm burning with rage right now" Grayson said seriously.

"I heard of the rumors and it sounded so ridiculous but sire, you shouldn't worry yourself about such little things. We've got bigger things ahead of us to watch out for" Max said with a blank expression.

"I would have loved that spirit of yours if you were giving me positive results. Tomorrow is Devon's wedding with Emma and I'm down here doing nothing about it because I placed the responsibility on your shoulders" Grayson yelled.

"I'm on it, sire. You shouldn't worry about that. I've got that covered" Max said with a malicious smile.

"I think your plans are taking much time to take effect and I don't have that much patience," Grayson said coldly and a guard ran to where they were.

"Sire, Alpha Grant is at the pack house" The guard announced then left.

"What!" Max gasped as he stood up sharply.

"What's alpha Grant doing here?" Max asked curiously.

"You will find out when we get there," Grayson said with a vicious smile.

"Of all alphas, Alpha Grant is your worst enemy. How can you ally with him? You can't show your weakness to others that's not good for your ruling" Max protested and Grayson glared.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures so it means absolutely nothing," Grayson said coldly.

"What!"

"Let's get going. We can't keep him waiting for too long" Grayson cut in.

Max exhaled with a frown.

Grayson and Max head to the silver lake pack's house.

Alpha Grant was seated at the pack meeting hall already.

"What a pleasant surprise Alpha Grant," Grayson said with a half smile as he took his seat as well.

"Your offer was a bit tempting so I couldn't help it" Alpha Grant uttered with a smile.

"I'm glad you put some thoughts into our conversation the other time so let's not waste any more time and get straight down to business," Grayson said professionally.

"What conversation exactly?" Max chipped in and Grant glared at him.

"I guess, your Beta has no idea about our conversation. Quite an interesting character alpha Grayson" Alpha mocked.

Grayson glanced at Max who was losing his cool already.

"It's nothing like that. Beta Max has been quite occupied with lots of things and I lost track of time to share it with him" Grayson covered up.

"Oh I see, but the rumor of you getting enthroned wrongly is still spreading like wildfire in the whole region. Beta Max must have been so busy that he couldn't even take care of that little rumor" Alpha Grant scoffed.

Max clenched his fist.

"Seems like, alpha Grant you put much interest in me. That makes me feel very important" Max said coldly with a blank expression and Grant glared at him.

What an annoying fellow! Alpha Grant said in his head angrily as he fixed his eyes on Max.

"The blood moon is approaching and the both of us, got lots of things to lose and we're both against the wedding of Alpha Devon and princess Emma. Don't you think so Alpha Grant?" Grayson cut in.

"Of course but I think you've got a greater loss than me so I think I will appreciate it if you let me call the shots," Alpha Grant said seriously.

"That's ridiculous! We all know how desperate you are to build your army and warriors with the secret techniques so why are you acting like you're doing us a favor?" Max protested and Grayson signaled him to keep shut.

"You're also desperate to hide Alpha Grayson's true self from the whole world so it's a fair game," Alpha Grant said seriously.

"The greater the loss the greater the benefits so I will be getting more benefits. Alpha Grant should call the shots" Grayson concurred.

What the hell! Max groaned in his head angrily.

Grey pack's wedding celestial hall.

It's finally the day of the wedding.

Alpha Devon arrived at the celestial hall along with Kent. Emma was heavenly guarded with Celina next to her as they head to the celestial hall.

"Do you love the alpha that much?" Emma asked out of the blue and Celina looked at her.

"What are you saying?" Celina played ignorant.

"I know you have feelings for the alpha but my question is why you love the alpha so much when he doesn't even notice your present" Emma shrugged and Celina frowned.

"Why do you think you deserve to be the Luna? You're the daughter of a traitor after all" Celina said coldly and Emma glared at her.

"I never asked to be the daughter of Alpha Falcon so don't blame me for that" Emma said seriously.

Celina scoffed.

"You're getting married to the alpha doesn't give you the ultimate right to rebel or go against his decisions. The Alpha is only getting married to you so he can save the grey pack from future obstacles so don't feel so good about yourself for being the Luna. You will only be given the position but not the rights. Do everything in your power to serve Alpha Devon with all your heart. You know so well how those who betray the alpha end up" Celina threatened and Emma clenched her fist as she looked away angrily.

I don't wish to serve the alpha in any way so dream on. I also don't wish to have this position, I just want to keep room for my revenge. Emma said in her head angrily.

...........

Alpha Devon and Kent stood next to each other with intense looks on their faces.

"It will be a success, I don't think you should worry yourself about it," Kent said calmly.

"I'm not worried. I just need Emma in front of me and that's the only way I will be able to protect her. I can't be of much help if she's not in my sight" Devon said coldly.

"You've given her more protection than you should and I believe Celina will bring her here safely" Kent uttered and Devon nodded.

"I trust her abilities" Alpha Devon muttered.

I don't Sophia's abilities instead. She might be running wild in the dungeon right now. Devon said in his head worriedly.

Emma and Celina arrived at the celestial hall.

'I think you should put a smile on your face. A bride can't look unhappy on her wedding day ' Rose said.

Emma smiled brightly as she walked in.

"Good job Celina," Kent said to Celina as they walked to where they stood.

"I was only fulfilling my duties and responsibilities handed to me by the Alpha," Celina said with a blank expression.

"Well done Celina," Devon said to her with a smile.

Butterflies ran around in Celina's stomach as the alpha smiled at her for the first time after so many years.

"Let's head to the altar" Alpha Devon said to Emma and she nodded.

They walked to the altar.

The wedding rituals then began after one of the elders walked forward to lead the rituals.

"I'm hoping you've dropped your hopes of having the alpha to yourself" Kent whispered to Celina and she frowned.

"Stay out of my business" Celina said seriously.

Alpha Devon and Emma had their hands tied similar to a pagan ceremony of Handfasting, with a ribbon and flowers. The two of them then hold up a white candle while saying their wedding vows.

They light the ritual candle ad just then Alpha Devon's phone started ringing vigorously.

Alpha Devon signaled Kent to come to take the phone away.

Kent brought the phone out of the alpha's pocket and his eyes went wide open in shock.

"Sire, I think you need to see this" Kent said in a shaky voice it's a video of the pubs who were kidnapped being tortured cruelly.

"What!" Alpha Devon gasped as he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Sire, you need to go together to place the candle on the altar" The elder reminded.

So this was their goal in the first place. Devon uttered in his head and his phone started ringing again.

Kent took the call and placed it on Devon's ears.

"Who do you think is more important? Your innocent clan members or your vicious wedding with Emma?" The voice echoed at the other end.

A dagger swiftly cut through the robe joining Emma and Devon.

Alpha Devon's eyes went open in shock as he watch this happen.
