CHAPTER 3

Days went by so quickly at the Grey pack's house. But Emma's constant torture from the maids and the alpha remains.

"The shred pack, have heard about our invasion in shadow pack and they plan on rebelling against us," Kent said as they walked alongside the maid's quarters.

"What's his motive for having such a silly plan?" Devon asked putting on a blank expression.

Kent smirked on seeing Charlotte slip on her own.

Alpha Devon glanced at him.

"Don't you think, you're becoming too relaxed for your good? An enemy should never put a smile on your face" Devon warned with a frown.

"Sorry, it skipped my mind but what's your plan? Should we send out our warriors to shred pack?" Kent asked seriously.

"Why do you think, the grey pack has been named one of the most powerful packs among the 12 packs? We will not attack without finding out the reason behind it" Devon said and Emma walked past them with a bowl of water in her hand.

She recovers more quickly than I expected. Devon said in his head as he stole a glance at Emma.

"She adjusted faster than I expected" Kent cut in.

Just then some maids walked up to Emma.

"Why are you trying to get on the good side of the alpha? The alpha will never consider you a living being so drop your act of repenting. It's not yet time for you to clean up, head back to your room" One of the maids commanded but Emma ignored them as she tried to walk away but they grabbed her by her hair.

"Ahhh!" Emma screamed and Alpha Devon shook his head with a cold look.

"Such a weakling, she can't even fight back" Devon scoffed.

"Picking a fight with her doesn't seem right, she's not violating any rules," Kent said.

"She's a slave, disciplining her is only right for her," Devon said and walked away.

Alpha Devon's phone rang and he brought it out of his pocket.

Devon scoffed at seeing the caller.

"What do you want?" Alpha Devon asked coldly over the phone.

"Let's meet up"

Devon turned around and Emma was still been bullied.

"Oh, damn it!" Devon uttered then walked to Emma.

"Greetings sire!" The maids greeted as they trembled in fear.

Emma stared at Devon tiredly as she caught her breath.

Alpha Devon brought out a scissor from his pocket and swiftly reduced Emma's hair with the scissors.

Everyone covered their mouths in shock as Devon cruelly cut off Emma's hair.

"Everyone get back to work" Alpha Devon yelled at the maids who were watching the scene.

"This bullying shouldn't repeat itself, Emma works for me so I'm the only one who has the right to punish her. This act shouldn't repeat itself" Alpha Devon warned coldly.

Beta Kent walked up to them and dragged the maids with him.

"Sire, we're sorry. We would never repeat our mistakes. Please spare us this once" The maids begged for mercy but Devon gave them deaf ears.

What's going on here? What's with this sudden act? As if cutting my hair wasn't enough. Emma said in her head angrily and tears roll down her cheeks as she watched her hair drop on the floor.

"Weakling" Devon cursed then walked away.

The maids were taken to the detention home where they were given silencing poison. They died in a couple of minutes.

Emma stood on cold feet after hearing what happened to those maids.

'Why do you think the alpha will silence the lives of his maids?' Rose asked.

"Why else, of course, he's got something under his sleeve. Whatever reason it might be, he's still a monster. Murdering them is a bit extreme" Emma responded with a frown.

Alpha Devon walked into his room.

"If you have so much time on your hands, I believe you should do something meaningful with it" Devon's thunderous tone cut in through her thoughts and Emma shrunk in fear.

Emma picked up her cleaning bucket as she tried so hard to avoid Devon's gaze which he noticed.

Alpha Devon stood in front of her, stopping her from walking further.

Emma raised her face with a frown.

"Killing those maids doesn't change the fact that you're a monster so I would appreciate it if you stay out of my business. I will fight my battles on my own" Emma said with a mean look and Devon scoffed.

"Don't feel too comfortable, I did none of that for you" Devon said and walked to his bed.

He dropped his phone on the bed and then walked to the changing room.

'Rose, do you have any idea what that means?' Emma asked her wolf.

'Finding out why he did that should be our next step. The alpha has too many secrets, and the only way to destroy him is by finding out his weak points. We can't let him go get away with what he did to our family' Rose reminded and Emma nodded.

Alpha Devon's changing room has a visible door that shows everything that's going on in there.

Emma turned around to face the changing room and she watched the alpha remove his clothes.

"Why are you still standing there? You should come to help me freshen up" Devon uttered from the changing room and for a second Emma's heartbeat skipped.

'Why should I be the one to help him freshen up?' Emma questioned in her head a bit flustered.

In a blink of an eye, alpha Devon appeared in front of her completely naked.

"Why are you standing here? You should get to work" Devon said coldly.

And Emma tried to look away but Alpha Devon ripped her dress off leaving her with just her panties and undergarments.

"Ahh! What are you doing?" Emma asked in her shaky voice trying to cover up her chest.

Devon grabbed her by the waist, bringing her closer to him as he sniffed her neck.

Emma shivered in fear.

"Whatever you're planning on doing, I advise you to drop that plan," Emma said with her eyes closed.

Alpha Devon was seated in the pack's meeting room with Alpha Grant the alpha of the shred pack.

They were both wearing cold looks on their faces.

"What do you want from me?" Grant asked seriously.

"Shouldn't I be asking that question? You called for this meeting remember" Devon said coldly.

"Why did you invade into shadow pack? Why did you break the number rule governing all the twelve packs?" Grant asked seriously.

It's against the rules of all the pack to invade another pack when you are allied with the other.

"If that's what this meeting is all about I will have to excuse myself," Devon said and stood up.

"We're not done talking" Grant yelled and Devon glared at him.

"How dare you raise your voice at me? You're one of those subordinates who have no idea how furious I can be when I lose control of myself. Stay out of my business" Devon said angrily.

"I'm not here to have a pep talk with you. You should man up and tell me the exact reason, you murdered everyone at the Shadow pack. What was your motive? You had an alliance with the shadow pack, how dare you break the rules of our packs" Grant yelled as he hit the table and Devon sat back.

"Why do you care?" Devon asked coldly.

Grant laughed.

"You ruined the reputation of the grey pack. Grey pack used to be the most respectable pack known in history but you ruined everything the moment you came in power" Grant scoffed.

"You're still breathing because I'm in a good mood, I would advise you don't cross your boundaries. My business with the shadow pack got nothing to do with you. I don't care if I ruined the reputation of my pack as long as I keep everyone safe" Devon said with a mean expression.

"I had no idea someone like yourself will ever be in a good mood. You killed Alpha Falcon with just mere suspicions. How irresponsible of you? You're supposed to settle on just that but why are you targeting the locust pack? What do you want exactly?" Grant asked seriously.

"Why do you care so much for the late Alpha? Are you scared you might be next in line?" Devon asked with a vicious smile.

"Don't you dare speak to me in that tone? I became a ruler before you even thought of becoming one so show me some respect" Grant yelled.

"You seem to be forgetting the fact that you're in my territory. Your life is in danger already, don't cross the line"

Grant exhaled looking around. It was just him and Devon in the meeting room.

"What do you want? I don't have time for these nonsense lectures of yours. There are better ways to provoke me" Devon uttered with a cold look in his eyes.

"Give princess Emma to me," Grant said with a blank expression and Devon glanced at him.

"Why should I give her to you, by the way, the princess is dead. I guess you had no idea"

"Don't play that silly game with me. I don't wish to drag this out with you so get the princess out here"

"You keep crossing the line. Should I show you what I'm like when someone provokes me" Devon uttered furiously.

"You can't do anything to me, I'm the only living relative of the late Luna Samantha and you believe I'm the only one who has a clue on exactly what happened to your" Grant said with a vicious smile.

Alpha Devon clenched his fist angrily as he glared at Grant.

"Don't push it" Devon said holding back his anger.

"For old time's sake, give princess Emma back to me" Grant smirked.
