CHAPTER 5

Alpha Devon head to the pack's meeting hall.

"I'm hoping you've put some thoughts into our discussion last time," Alpha Grant said as he got seated.

"What was our discussion? I don't quite remember" Alpha Devon uttered.

Grant looked away with a frown.

"I'm taking princess Emma back with me to shred pack" Grant announced.

"Under whose orders?" Devon asked with a mean look.

"She doesn't belong here so I'm taking her back with me and there's nothing you can do to stop me. I've tried reasoning with you but I don't think you're ready to bulge" Grant said seriously.

"Is that why you brought so many warriors with you today? Are you threatening me?" Devon asked in a relaxed tone.

"I knew you wouldn't be bulging. So what do you think about my warriors? Are they worthy of being your opponents?" Grant asked with a vicious smile and Devon hit the table hard with his palm.

"Grant, how dare you come into my territory and threaten me? How dare you!" Alpha Devon yelled furiously.

"Give Emma to me. She belongs to me in the first place so give her back" Alpha Grant yelled with a thunderous tone.

Alpha Devon sat down and exhaled sharply.

"Why do you want her so badly? You look desperate" Devon ridiculed and Grant clenched his fist.

"I'm not desperate, I just want her back so give her back. You killed her whole family and destroyed her pack but why did you keep her alive? In my perspective, I think you're more desperate than I am"

"Emma belongs to me now. She's my slave, she belongs to the grey pack" Devon said coldly and Grant walked to him.

"Do you want to know why your mother was the one who got killed instead of the alpha?" Grant said maliciously and Devon glared at him.

"I'm still not giving Emma to you. She's mine so don't try to make up fake stories just to provoke me" Devon cut in.

"Late alpha Tyler is the one behind Luna Samantha's death so if you wish to hear the full story, give Emma back to me" Grant bargained and Devon swiftly gave him a cut on his neck with his claws.

"Devon!" Grant screamed and he tried to retaliate but Devon moved away.

"You're trying so hard to get Emma, well I'm not changing my mind so don't tell me that bullshit. If you still dream of seeing tomorrow, I advise you to leave before I change my mind" Devon threatened.

Grant laughed viciously.

"I told you, I'm not leaving without Emma so bring it on. You've been on my throat for a while now let's get it over and done with" Grant fired.

"Do you want to know how I got rid of Alpha Falcon? You don't possibly think just a few warriors would be able to defeat me" Devon scoffed.

Alpha Grant ran to the window and he saw all his warriors have been subdued by alpha Devon's guards.

"This isn't over yet," Grant said angrily then left the meeting hall.

"Of course, it's not. It can only be over when I rip out your heart" Devon uttered in a low tone with a cold look on his face.

Beta Kent came into the meeting hall and he noticed the drop of blood on the floor.

"He didn't possibly cut you off guard right?" Kent asked worriedly.

"Of course not. He's losing his lupine powers, I think something happened to him and that's why he's desperately looking for Emma"

"Emma... Why would he even want her? She's nothing but a slave now and she doesn't know how to make use of her powers. She's useless right now but why would alpha Grant risk his life just to get her" Kent wondered.

"It's obvious, there's something Emma knows that none of us know about," Devon said and Kent stared at him.

"She's still your mate so you can't just send her off to someone else. Let's run some investigation on her while she's still under our watch. I don't like it when I get curious" Kent said coldly and Devon glanced at him.

"Leave Emma to me. I will deal with her. Besides, she's powerless without me" Devon said coldly.

Emma and Charlotte sat in a corner behind the pack house.

"Charlotte, you've always trained but how come, they were able to capture you? It's surprising how you got captured as well" Emma asked.

"Emma, our war with the grey pack isn't all about destroying our pack. They've always been a grudge"

"What do you mean?" Emma asked a bit confused.

"Why do you think Alpha Falcon agreed to ally with the grey pack?" Charlotte asked with a blank expression.

"For peace's sake, I guess. The grey pack had so many warriors and resources, I guess father only wanted to benefit both packs" Emma said and Charlotte scoffed.

"The goal of the alpha was the life of Alpha Devon so I'm hoping you accomplish that goal and I will help you do that. He took everything away from us, he destroyed everything we love" Charlotte said with so much hate.

"Why would father aim at Alpha Devon's life? I thought he was friends with Alpha Tyler. Anyways whatever reason father had, he was probably trying to protect us from the future misfortune which just befell on us" Emma said angrily.

Charlotte exhaled sharply.

"You should learn the basics of your powers if you want to conquer the Alpha. Emma, I will teach you the secret techniques of the shadow pack" Charlotte said and Emma nodded.

"We're under watch. I'm hoping this training doesn't get us into any more danger" Emma said and Charlotte sucks her teeth as she thought of something quickly.

"Fastest way to conquer a great man is by becoming his weakness. You know what I mean right" Charlotte said with a malicious smile.

I've always thought of avenging my pack but with the sound of Charlotte's voice. There's more to it than vengeance. The mystery of why Alpha Devon murdered father and mother and the rest of the pack is still unclear to me. Charlotte is being mysterious. Who was that letter from? Emma uttered in her mind gazing at a space.

"But one thing is for sure. I'm paying him back the exact way he did" Emma said seriously.

Hours later...

Emma headed to the alpha's chambers, she was putting on a very observable outfit that shows her curve and figure.

Alpha Devon had a glance at her from his bed then looked away. Emma pretended to be cleaning as she stood in seductive positions.

'Rose, why's he not looking at me? This was supposed to be the best outfit to arouse him' Emma spoke to her wolf.

'Does this mean, we've accepted the alpha as our mate?' Rose asked.

'If I want to accomplish my goals, I have to use my body as bait'

"You can take the e rest of the day off. You don't have to work today, someone else will do it" Devon cut in and Emma turned around.

"I thought I've been assigned to do all the work in your chambers?" Emma asked and Devon kept mute.

Emma picked up her bucket since alpha gave her no response. She walked to the door but Devon ran to her and grabbed her by the waist.

'Rose I think it's working' Emma said.

Devon sniffed on her neck trying so hard to hold back his urge. He squeezed Emma's booty and he moaned out as he felt the tenderness of her booty.

Beta Kent barged into the room and Alpha Devon pushed Emma aside.

"You can leave now," Devon said coldly and swiftly Emma left the room closing the door behind her.

"What the hell are you doing Devon?" Kent asked seriously.

"Show me some respect, I'm your Alpha" Devon barked.

"I'm here as your friend not your beta and I believe you need to get something straight, I told you not to make Emma your obsession. What the hell were you planning on doing if I hadn't come here? Are you trying to break the number one rule of battles for just a damn pussy" Kent yelled and Devon sat on his bed.

"Stop raising your voice at me. I wasn't planning on doing anything with her and just so you know, Emma is not my obsession. She's my property" Devon uttered with a frown.

"I'm glad you know that. We're planning on invading the locust pack tomorrow and I'm hoping you don't let a damn pussy mislead you. You've never acted this impulsive before" Kent said seriously then left the room.

One of the rules Devon made before becoming the alpha was no sex before any battle. Devon always stays sacred before embarking on a battle but after so many years of strict rules and regulations, he nearly broke one of his important rules.

"They're just damn rules I made myself and I can still win a battle if I wish to. How dare raise his voice at me! Kent has never done that before" Devon groaned.

'You have accepted Emma, she's just not your bedwarmer anymore' Scott said and Devon frowned.

"I will politely deny that fact. Emma is nothing to me" Devon said coldly.

NEXT DAY...

Alpha Devon and Kent arrived at the locust pack already.

"What do we owe this surprise visit?" Alpha Ashley asked as they all sat at the locust pack's guest hall.

"We heard some rumors about the locust pack but we're hoping we heard it wrong" Kent said coldly.

"I see, Beta Kent is the hot-blooded one. I would have appreciated it if the alpha spoke for himself" Alpha Ashley said arrogantly.

"Watch your language" Kent fired.

Alpha Devon got distracted for a moment.

"You know so well how I despise whoever betrays me," Devon said coldly someone threw a poisoned dagger at Devon from outside which gave him a cut on his arm.

Devon got enraged on seeing the cut, he transited quickly tearing his clothes apart. Kent rushed the guards protecting alpha Ashley and slit their throats with his claws. Devon grabbed Ashley by the neck furiously.

"Do you think my death will be the end of it? It still doesn't make you the strongest among us" Alpha Ashley mocked with a malicious smile and Devon ripped his heart out with his claws.

The locust pack was conquered just like Alpha Devon predicated.

Devon was laying on his bed, trying not to lose consciousness.

The pack's healer is sitting next to him. Examining his wounds.

"Beta Kent, what happened exactly? It's an unusual case, the alpha has never been this badly injured" The healer questioned.

"We let our guard down for a moment but how's the alpha's condition? What are his symptoms" Kent asked curiously?

"Naturally the Alpha should have been showing signs of recovery but this is a rare case. The alpha's pulse is unstable as well" The healer informed.

"Kent escort the healer out," Devon said in a faint voice.

"But we've not done examining you," The healer said but Devon looked away.

"It's your job to listen to your patient. I don't think the alpha wants you to be here right now so please leave. He doesn't like it when people get too curious for their own good" Kent said coldly and dragged the healer out of the room.

Kent came back into the room.

"You've been poisoned" Kent informed and Devon winced silently.

"Ashley got alerted on our visit but the dagger wasn't on his part," Devon said faintly as he tried to sit up but Kent helped him.

"If the attack wasn't from him then we should be expecting an attack on grey pack"

"Exactly and that's why we have to be on guard. Take Emma away, throw her at the cell. She shouldn't be seen by anyone as you do that" Devon instructed as he bite his lower lips in pain.

"You broke the rule and that's why you got hit by the dagger, you lost focus. You slept with Emma last night?" Kent uttered angrily and Devon looked away.

Someone knocked at the door.

"Sire, Alpha Grant is at the meeting hall with some elders"

"Go get Emma now" Devon instructed.

"Answer me, did you sleep with her or not?" Kent yelled.

"I did, I did so what" Devon screamed frustratedly.
