C7 Her friend

CHAPTER 7

Emma and Charlotte were given a free ride with one of the alpha's cars.

"Where's your destination?" The driver asked and Emma looked at Charlotte.

"We drop us as the highway mountain leading to shadow pack's territory," Charlotte said.

"Isn't that a bit risky? We can just hang out somewhere else" Emma said worriedly.

Charlotte smirked looking out the window.

"We're going on a vacation so we should go somewhere similar to home," Charlotte said and winked at Emma.

Emma and Charlotte dropped by the mountain.

"Wow, it feels like home" Charlotte exclaimed with a smile.

Emma kept quiet for some time as many questions ran through her head.

"Why do you think the alpha sent us out on a vacation, out of the blue? No matter how I think of it, something doesn't feel right" Charlotte cut in through Emma's thoughts.

"The Alpha isn't in a good shape and that's why I'm not needed around for the time being"

"It still doesn't feel right to me. Alpha Devon is known for being generous. We might run away while we're here but he's risking that. Don't you find it suspicious?" Charlotte asked staring at Emma.

"I find it suspicious as well but what if the alpha is being generous? We must not always question people's decisions" Emma said slowly and Charlotte gave her a suspicious look.

"What's the look for?" Emma asked.

"You've never spoken well of the alpha before. What changed? Emma I'm getting this cold feeling, I'm hoping you still haven't forgotten your goal and dreams and that's to avenge our pack and parents. You can't switch sides so easily" Charlotte said seriously.

"Enough with the talking. We're here for a vacation so let's enjoy it while it lasts. A lot is going in my mind right now and I need to cool off" Emma said with a faint smile.

"Emma you're acting different today. Did something happen?" Charlotte asked curiously.

'What if my impression about the alpha have been all wrong? He allowed Charlotte and me to go for a vacation? I'm trying to be understanding but why do I keep having this weird feeling like something isn't right Emma questioned in her head.

'Regardless of how generous the alpha is trying to get. I just hope you don't forget he killed your family. He turned you from a princess to the lowest-ranking slave in the Grey pack. Isn't that enough reason for you not to get swayed by vicious alphas like himself' Rose forewarned?

"He murdered my family because he had no choice but to avenge his parents as well. I hate him for taking my family away from me and turning me into a slave but.." Emma responded then pursed suddenly as she smelled something funny from afar.

"Charlotte I think someone's coming" Emma informed.

"What direction?" Charlotte asked standing guard as she looked around.

Sophia ran into Alpha Devon's room with tears rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably.

"Put yourself together Sophia, you look weak," Alpha Devon said coldly with a grimace.

"Do my tears disgust you?" Sophia sniffed as she tried to get closer to Alpha Devon but he moved away.

"What do you want?"

"I got notified about the poison. This is the first time something like this is happening so I got worried of course" Sophia explained.

"It's only a light poison. No big deal and this was supposed to be a top-secret, how did you get notified?" Alpha Devon asked staring at her suspiciously.

"Your cold words days ago aren't enough to push me away. I'm sorry I was a bit too persistent that day. I saw the healer leaving the pack's house and that's how I got notified" Sophia explained and hugged him.

"I'm glad you're fine now" Sophia added then pressed the spot Devon got wounded with the poisoned dagger.

Alpha Devon winced silently without notice and Sophia broke the hug.

"Thank you for being alive," Sophia said with a smile and slowly brought out a small dagger from her pocket.

Alpha Devon grabbed her two hands roughly and turned her around.

"What the hell are you planning on doing with that?" Alpha Devon asked angrily.

"What are you saying, sire? I was only checking if I still had my protective dagger, I thought I lost it on my way here" Sophia defended and Devon scoffed.

"How dare you lie so bluntly in my face? Do you wish to lose your life so easily?" Alpha Devon asked angrily and Sophia laughed maliciously.

Alpha Devon glared at her and then let go of her hands after snatching the dagger from her hand.

"You won't heal so easily without the antidote. Sire, I think you should save all your strength for later" Sophia scoffed.

"Who do you work for?"

Sophia looked at the alpha quite shocked by his question.

"Do you think a mere poison will take me down? Sophia you chose the wrong team to side with" Alpha Devon said coldly and swiftly slit Sophia's left side of her neck with his claws.

Sophia glared at the alpha with so much hate in her eyes as she covered the side of her neck which was bleeding so much.

Sophia winced in pain and then fell to the ground.

"You're just a pawn in their game. So foolish of you to fall for it" Alpha Devon said with a mean expression.

"Just like always, you chose yourself over someone else and that's why Luna Samantha got killed" Sophia managed to utter as she struggled to breathe.

Alpha Devon glared at her as her words got through him.

"All you needed to do, was just make me your Luna but I guess they were right all along. You only play along with naive she-wolves" Sophia said faintly then lost consciousness.

"They?" Alpha Devon repeated as he put much thought into Sophia's words.

"You turned out to be one of them as well Sophia. Did you stab me right in the back? What was your reason for betraying me?" Alpha Devon screamed angrily and his fangs grew out he bite his arm when he got a dagger cut.

Blood dripped out of the spots he bite with his fangs.

"Ahhhhhh!" Alpha Devon howled in pain.

Emma and Charlotte stood guard waiting for the intruder to surface but a rabbit ran out of the bushes and Emma exhaled deeply.

"Thank goodness, my chest almost jumped out of my chest" Emma sighed.

"Your lupine abilities are becoming too sensitive for your own good" Charlotte shrugged and Emma laughed.

"It's getting late, let's set up our tent" Emma reminded.

9:00 Pm...

Alpha Grant sent out his men to go attack Emma and Charlotte and steal the weapon book.

Kent placed a call across to Alpha Devon.

"I think Alpha Grant's guards are on the move. Should I stop them? They seem to have some other plan on their sleeve. It doesn't seem like he wants to abduct Emma" Kent said over the phone.

"You're not allowed to do a thing. I'm not the only one looking for the secret skill so keep a slow watch on them" Alpha Devon instructed and Kent nodded before hanging up.

Emma heard some footsteps approaching their tent but she was too sleepy to make a move.

"Charlotte" Emma called out in her sleepy tone, trying to wake Charlotte up.

Some masked werewolves tore their tent apart and they woke up in a hurry.

"What the hell is going on here?" Emma asked as she held Charlotte's hands.

"I'm right here, I will protect you" Charlotte assured breathing heavily.

"What the hell do you want?" Emma asked seriously and she got attacked from behind by one of the werewolves.

Emma got held captive with his claws on her throat.

"Let go of her" Charlotte screamed angrily and she began to transform quickly.

The rest of the werewolves attacked Charlotte giving her bruises since they were too strong for her.

"Charlotte" Emma screamed almost in tears.

"Emma, I think you should leave this place. I will die protecting you" Charlotte said and tears roll down Emma's cheeks.

"I'm not letting you die in front of me as well" Emma screamed angrily and transformed immediately blowing away the werewolf behind her.

Emma slit the neck of the werewolf that was holding her.

Emma fixed her eyes on the moon.

"Moon Goddess, your daughter Emma..." Emma was about to chant the secret phrase of shadow pack fighting weapon when some werewolves jumped out of the bushes and attacked the masked werewolves.

Emma and Charlotte got rescued by those unknown werewolves.

Beta Kent watched everything from a distance and he turned around after the unknown werewolves rescued Emma and Charlotte but Emma sighted him from a distance and her eyes went wide open in shock.

"Are you okay?" One of the werewolves asked curiously and Emma tried to put herself together after what she just saw.

"Charlotte!" Emma called out of the blue and ran to where Charlotte was laying with lots of bruises on her body.

"Are just little bruises, they will heal in no time" Charlotte said faintly and Emma turned to the unknown werewolves.

"I have no idea why you helped us but thank you so much for coming to our rescue," Emma said politely.

"I'm Grayson from silver lake pack and they're my friends, Max and Tristan. Luckily we heard of the ruckus from afar" Grayson said.

"Thank you" Charlotte managed to utter.

"She's losing so much blood we should get her treated" Grayson offered.

Emma looked at them suspiciously.

"How's it possible you could defeat those werewolves so easily? What are your true identities? You're not planning on attacking us after rescuing us?" Emma asked suspiciously.

"I can't believe you're suspecting us after we just saved your lives," Max said seriously and Grayson signaled him to stop.

"We can talk about all that after we've gotten her treated" Grayson offered and Emma stood up from the ground.

"We can handle this on our own" Emma said rudely.

"Can you take a proper look at your friend? How do you suppose on taking care of her? If she remains like this another second, she might lose her life" Max yelled angrily then he swiftly carried Charlotte in his arms.

"We've got our car so hurry up, silver lake pack isn't far from here. Let's get her treated by a true healer" Grayson said.

"I think you will have to go without me. I still got lots of things to take care of" Emma said and sharply sniffed at the three guys.

"If anything happens to Charlotte, I will find you and destroy every one of you" Emma threatened.

Charlotte stared at her faintly.

"What do you plan on doing, it's quite dangerous out here, come along," Charlotte said slowly and Emma bend over to her ears.

"Charlotte I'm sorry I misunderstood you about alpha Devon in the first place. I almost got swayed by this vacation but I don't think that's it anymore. You should recover quickly and come back to me so we will conquer Grey pack together. I'm sorry but I've got to leave you with these strangers. Our enemies need to pay for every pain they've made us go through" Emma said angrily with so much hate.

"Don't you dare do anything to my friend!" Emma threatened once more.

"If you don't trust us then take this as a token to trace us down but we have to get her treated immediately," Grayson said and slide a card into Emma's pocket and they ran down of the mountain with Charlotte to their car.

~"So many dangerous animals are desperately looking for you"~ Alpha Devon's words flashed on Emma's head and she frowned at the thought.

You knew we will be getting attacked today and you sent us out into the lion's den. Taking the lives of my pack wasn't enough, now you're after my life. You did something so cheap just so you could get rid of me. You just drew the battle line, I'm never going to get swayed by your words never again. Emma said in her head angrily as hot tears escaped her eyes and she wiped them off roughly.
