"Right now, I need four substitutes from each team for this game... The Relay Race!" He announced, and everyone cheered, of course excluding me. The only joy I had was that it was my favorite game. "Alright four volunteers. Silvie you're sure to represent us" That was our team leader Jade. She was a grade older than I was. "You'll be on the last lane. You, Claire will be on the first lane okay?"

"Why do I have to be on the same lane with Terry? I just hope he doesn't get me distracted" I thought. I was trying to keep my eyes off him. "Hi, classmate" He said. "Hi" "You... Wanted me in your team right?" "N...no" inside me was a big yes! "Why would I want you on my team?" "Why won't you?" He gave his usual reply. This time we were both staring at each other. He had kept me distracted, less to my notice, and the next thing I heard was a swoosh!... And then cheers. Terry had taken off with speed. I grabbed the baton, and ran as fast as I could, but it seemed like it wasn't good enough. I was overtaking the other guy, but in about five seconds later, Terry crossed the finish line, then I did, and the boy after. I was sad as...

Gwen made her way through the crowd and cane to the field. She jumped on Terry, and they hugged. I walked to my teammates. I expected Jade to yell at me for being distracted, but she didn't.

"Whew! That was close"

Luckily, we'll have the chance to compete with the first two teams if we defeat the two teams with second position.

Once again, I had to stand with Terry on a lane.

"Hi again" He had this ting of mockery in his voice.

"How was the last round?" He asked, still maintaining that sound.

"Do you have a problem with me?" I asked, getting a bit annoyed. "Uh... No" "All you ever want to do is annoy me, frustrate me, do whatever you know I don't like" I kept on talking and talking, keeping my voice at it's limit. And at the end if the day, I managed to distract him, and got the baton before he did.

It was Alistar, Me, and Terry. Alistar was a really good runner. He gave me a hard time. But at the end of the day, I crossed the finish line in less than a second before he did.

"Congratulations, you've beat me this time, but I bet you won't try it again" He teased, and I laughed "Are you challenging me? Your... Boss" I lifted my chin high. He laughed also. "Congrats on winning" Terry said, approaching me. And, sorry about whatever has been happening between us". "Did my crush just apologise to me?" I thought. Would I have ever said no?. "It's fine" "So, friends?" He stretched out his hand for a handshake, and I took it. I felt like the best in the world. Standing there, holding his hands, I was going to blush to death.
