C7 A False Sense of Peace
All the brothers were waiting for her at breakfast. She got ready in her room and came out. When she saw all her brothers, she smiled, waved her hand and said, "Good morning" to everyone. Seeing that Gurya's fever was gone, all the brothers became happy. They had breakfast while talking and joking.
Then Merza Bhai said, "Gurya, I am going out. I will drop you to the university on my way. Come quickly, I am in the car." Gurya quickly put her bag on her shoulder, said "bye" to her brothers in a loud voice, and went after her brother.
In the car, Gurya was silent. In her heart, she was thinking, I don't know what will happen today? If he comes again today, I will call my brother and tell him right away. There was silence in the car for a long time. Merza Bhai looked at Gurya and said, "What happened? Are you worried?" Gurya said, "No." Bhai said, "Why are you sitting so quietly? You used to talk so much that you would eat our ears, why are you not talking now?"
Gurya said, "No, I am thinking that yesterday I took a leave, so I missed yesterday's class. And I haven't made any friends yet from whom I can borrow the assignment for a day." Bhai said, "Just tell your teacher that you were unwell yesterday. Ask her to teach you in her extra time. Teachers never refuse. It's such a small thing, why are you so worried about it?" She said, "Yes, Bhai."
Bhai asked, "How are your studies going?" She said, "They are going very well." Talking like this, they reached the university. Bhai dropped Gurya outside the university and left.
Gurya did not see Shamsher outside because he stays inside. She was slowly taking steps inside. Sweat started to appear on her forehead, her hands became cold, worry was visible on her forehead, and her heart was beating fast. As soon as she stepped into the university, she lowered her eyes and started walking quickly. At every step, it felt like he would come in front of her right now. Sweat started coming out even faster, and then she finally reached inside.
She took a deep breath, turned back and looked behind. She looked everywhere, but Shamsher was nowhere to be seen. She quickly went to her class and, taking a deep breath of relief, said in her heart, I was saved today. She also took an extra class from her miss and completed all her pending work.
On the other side, Shamsher was himself giving a company tour to his client, so that he would stay busy and his time would pass quickly. Without Gurya, it felt to him as if years had passed.
Now it was 2:00 pm and Gurya's heart was beating fast. She was thinking that she was saved earlier, but what if he is downstairs now? Just then, a message from Agha Bhai came: "Gurya, I have come outside. Come quickly, I am waiting." Gurya picked up her bag and to reduce her fear, she said in her heart, If I see him downstairs again now, I will slap him one more time. I will also tell my brother, then whatever happens, we will see.
She started going downstairs, but the fear of Shamsher was still in her heart. Even then, she came downstairs scared. First, she looked far and wide from a distance, but she did not see Shamsher. She felt a little relaxed and started walking, and with every step, she was thinking in her innocent mind, "I slapped that boy, that's why he hasn't come now. He got scared of me. Maybe he didn't come yesterday either, and he didn't come today either. And on the day I slapped him, he didn't come after that either. It means my slap was really hard... and he got scared and will not come again."
Bhai was outside in the car. Gurya also went with a smile and sat in the car. Bhai said, "How was your day at the university today? How is your health? Did you have lunch today? And if you did, what did you eat? Did you take the extra class after yesterday's leave?" Without stopping, Bhai asked Gurya all the questions and then started driving the car.
Hearing so many questions, Gurya smiled and said, "First of all, my day at the university was very good. My health is perfectly fine, and I also had lunch and took the extra class." Bhai asked, "What did you eat for lunch?" Gurya had been a fussy eater from the beginning; she ate very little. She told Bhai the truth, "I ate Lays today."
Bhai said angrily in a strict tone, "This is not lunch, Gurya. When I go home, I will tell Salar Bhai to make you lunch from home, and you will only come home after finishing it. Do you understand?" Bhai scolded Gurya. Now she became quiet. She remained quiet the whole way, sitting with her eyes lowered.
Bhai looked at Gurya and said in a soft tone, "Beta, we don't want anything bad for you. You saw yesterday how unwell you became. I am not scolding you, I am just making you understand that to keep yourself healthy, it is necessary to eat food." Gurya nodded her head in agreement.
They reached home. Gurya came inside and met all the brothers. Salar Bhai also asked Gurya if she had lunch. Gurya started looking at Agha Bhai. Then Agha Bhai said in a taunting tone, "She did have lunch, but she only ate Lays. This is her lunch." After hearing this, Merza Bhai looked at Salar Bhai and said in a strict tone, "You will give her a lunch box from tomorrow, and if she doesn't finish it, then tell me." Then Merza Bhai started staring angrily at Gurya, and Gurya stared at Agha Bhai and went to her room.
Then in the evening, she came out of her room and all the brothers were sitting in the lounge. Gurya went and sat near them, but everyone was busy with their own work. Gurya understood that all the brothers are angry with me. Gurya said, "Bhai," and holding her ears, she said sorry. She said, "Bhai, sorry, it was my mistake. From now on, I will definitely have lunch. You give me a lunch box, I will definitely finish it."
Bhai said, "Gurya, we don't want anything bad for you. We cannot see you in pain. From tomorrow, take your lunch, okay Gurya?" Gurya said, "Yes, okay Bhai. Now you are not angry with me, right? Bhai, I cannot bear your anger. Please forgive me, sorry." Bhai started laughing and said, "We also cannot live without talking to you, my princess." Everyone agreed and they had dinner together.
At night, Gurya went to her room to sleep. She was happy that "now that boy's chapter is closed." Then she started thinking that if she had told her brother, she didn't know what would have happened. Then she took a deep breath and said, "Whatever happened, happened for the best." And today Gurya was feeling very sleepy, a deep sleep was coming to her, and she slept peacefully in a deep sleep.
(But she had no idea at all that from tomorrow, her sleep and peace were going to be snatched away. A storm was going to come into her life.)
And night fell. For two days, Shamsher has not been able to sleep at night. Every moment, he was remembering Gurya. It had been 2 days since he had met Gurya and seen her. Those 2 days felt not like 2 days, but like 2 years had passed. Now he had decided that tomorrow he would go to the university, and he would tell Gurya, not Gurya, he would tell her "my decision"... He said, "Now I will only be able to sleep peacefully when I make Gurya mine. Now I am just waiting for tomorrow."
