C5 05

She walked into the conference room hiding nervousness as she stood two inches away from the gentlemen and ladies staring as she entered. The whole place fell deaf with silence as she looked at the face of each and everyone of them.

Her eyes gaze stopped at a man sitting at the fifth seat in the middle of two men, she presumed him to be Mr lorentazo. His mostache protuded boldly yet very admirable as it is well shaved. He wore a suit and a hat complimenting it with a gold wrist-watch. Abigail took out time to observe him as he didn't show any expression on his face.

“I welcome you all to DINGS technological company.”

She said with a smile as she carried a tray of a coffee pot walking towards Mr lorentazo.

“ It is with great honour that I want to show this hospitality to you Mr lorentazo for honouring this invitation. Thank you for taking out time to be here.”

She said in the most brilliant and meek voice she could ever speak with.

“ We are honoured to be here!”

answered a lady staring at Abigail. Abigail hadn't been comfortable in that dress but she has vowed to manage it anyway, just for the night.

“ Wow! This is good!”

Responded Mr lorentazo after sipping from the coffee.

“ You made this?”

Asked he staring at her.

“ Yes I did sir!”

She answered in all boldness.

“ Shall i tell you, even my wife do not know how to make a coffee as sweet as this before she...”

“ We have only come for a business not for some merriment! Or have we?”

Asked a lady harshly looking at Abigail in a disgusting way.

“ Ohhh she is my wife's friend she has been in this business with me all these years, since the day of our youth and I tell you, she has been really good.”

“ Pardon ma'am I am Abigail Futhero, the daughter in-law of the futheros the wife of Dennis Futhero.”

She introduced herself meekly leaving no details. But then, she thought of something wearing this make-up have changed her appearance how will the lady know how she really looks.

“ When you get inexperienced ladies like wives to the business world, they act as though, they know a lot! It is such a disaster that Dennis sent you here such an inexperienced woman!”

She scolded beneath her breathe and Abigail heard that loudly. She stared at everyone who have been giving her a questioning look.

“ I shall excuse myself!”

She said about walking out.

“ We don't have the whole night lady! We ain't a coven of witches, please make this and let's leave.”

The woman fired at her. Abigail stood confused as she lost confidence regarding the way the woman is staring at her and the rudeness of her voice.

“ I think we should leave, this business is cancelled and we will never come here again. If Dennis is serious, he should meet us at the headquarters. I really don't understand why he will be toiling with his future.”

The lady said packing up her bag and some files she arranged on the table earlier.

“ Madam! Madam... We... There is still time.” Martins tried explaining but the woman wouldn't listen she already walked out pushing Abigail to the side.

Abigail stood confused watching all this like a drama she doesn't know how to address the ragging lady.

“ I think we should leave, this business is cancelled and we will never come here again. If Dennis is serious, he should meet us at the headquarters. I really don't understand why he will be toiling with his future.”

Her words kept echoing in Abigail's ear as she ran out of the conference room into the office.

“ I'm a mess! I'm a mess... What did I do wrong now? I was only trying to make things fun and easy did i do something bad? Did I? Dennis will be right if I'm not able to convince this lady.“

She thought to herself trying very hard not to shed a tear.

“ She said they will never come back here! And that means our company will be at loose ma'am, we will not be able to launch this new product of ours and that means, our company will start loosing it's fame in the business world.”

Martins said as he stood by the door looking at broken Abigail.

“ You know Martin, I'm only trying to make things less complicated here and nothing more. I think that woman, has an issue with your boss.”

Abigail stated as she got up to her feet moving towards the door.

“ I don't know about that ma'am but business is all about business and nothing else maybe the lady needs some rest and she has expected you to go straight to the point.”

“ I needed to show some hospitality isn't it good?”

She asked him looking sad.

“ I guess it didn't work out any better!”

Answered Martin honestly.

“ You are a badluck!”

the word echoed in her ear as she stared at the fruit knife on the table staring at it with all agility.

“ I'm not! I'm not a badluck! I can never be that to you and I promise to show you that I'm not!”

She shouted as she picked the fruit knife and drew it towards the wall as it landed on the curtain used to cover the painting behind it as it pierced straight to the painting hooking there.

“ Ma'am! Are you alright?”

Asked Martin hurriedly as he beheld what just happened.

“ Yes!.”

She answered raising her hands to him making him to stop without coming further.

“ Are you sure ma'am?”

He asked really worried.

“ Hahahahaha! Yes Martin, I'm fine you don't have to bother. Please give me water!”

She requested as Martin quickly brought out a table water from the fridge and she gulped it down in haste all at once.

“Hmmm she breathed heavily as she stared at the plastic bottle she is holding”

“ Let's go make this business happen.”

She said to Martin as she walked into the conference room meeting but only a few people.

“ Mr lorentazo?” She called with a smile.

“ They have all left and she has left so, I think this meeting is over!”

He said sternly at her without any sympathy.

“ This is he ma'am!”

Martin whispered to her hearing.
