C3 Looking for You!

Intuition told Soong Yu that Huo Tian would definitely come looking for her again. Anxiously, she waited for his return. Instead of Huo Tian, however, a middle-aged woman dressed like a socialite and a girl who screamed "spoiled brat" walked in. The sound of the door opening was impossible for Soong Yu to ignore.

Soong Yu was staying in a four-person room, but she was the only one there. As she looked at the two newcomers, it was clear they weren't here for a friendly visit. The woman marched straight up to her. "You must be Soong Yu."

Soong Yu didn't recognize them, and her memories offered no clues. She nodded slightly. No sooner had she nodded than the girl swung her purse, hitting Soong Yu on the head. The unexpected blow left her dizzy and furious.

The woman began to berate her, "You little tramp! It's bad enough you tried to steal my daughter's boyfriend, but you dared to lay hands on her? Do you have any idea who we are? You're just a lowly maid! My daughter is still in the hospital, unconscious. If anything happens to her, you'll pay!"

Soong Yu held her head and looked up at the two of them. So, this was the mother of that pretty girl?

"What are you staring at? A maid like you thinks she can rise above her station? Dream on!" the bratty girl sneered, pointing at Soong Yu.

Soong Yu was fuming. She had lived a timid life before, but this time, she refused to be a pushover. "Ladies, this is the surgical ward. If you're looking for the psychiatric department, I suggest you ask the nurses at the station."

The two women were momentarily stunned, realizing Soong Yu had just called them crazy.

"You little witch, how dare you talk back!" the woman shouted, raising her hand to slap Soong Yu.

Soong Yu blocked the slap, her expression turning serious. "We live in a society governed by law. No matter how important you think you are, you're not above it. If you touch me again, I'll call the police."

The elegant woman paused, and Soong Yu continued, "If we're talking about seduction, Huo Tian and I are legally married. It's your daughter who's clinging to him, making her the shameless one you mentioned. She's the one who deserves a lesson."

"Auntie, why bother talking to her? Just hit her already," the spoiled young woman said as she lunged at Soong Yu.

Soong Yu wasn't about to just sit there and take it. But since she was sitting on the bed with a blanket over her, she couldn't move quickly enough and ended up being pinned down and beaten by the spoiled young woman. A blow landed on her head, making her feel even dizzier.

Despite her discomfort, Soong Yu kicked out at her attacker. Just then, she heard hurried footsteps approaching from outside. Realizing this, she stopped resisting and cried out for help, her voice filled with desperation.

"You can scream all you want, but no one's going to save you today, you shameless woman daring to seduce my brother-in-law. Weren't you acting all tough just now?" the spoiled young woman taunted as she continued her assault. The elegant woman stood by, watching.

"Stop it..." came an angry shout from outside.

Both the spoiled young woman and the elegant woman turned to see Huo Tian entering the room, and they froze in surprise.

The elegant woman looked momentarily uncomfortable and quickly stepped forward to explain, "Tian, dear, I was just..."

Huo Tian glanced at the elegant woman, then stepped forward and pulled the spoiled young woman off Soong Yu. The young woman stumbled but didn't dare protest, only casting a resentful look at the elegant woman.

Huo Tian moved to Soong Yu's side, taking in her disheveled state before finally asking, "Are you okay?"

Soong Yu lowered her hands from her head, looked at Huo Tian with a cold gaze, and said, "I'll live."

Huo Tian gave her a look before turning to the elegant woman. "Aunt He, this is a hospital, not your home. She's not someone you can just hit whenever you please."

The woman addressed as Aunt He looked at Huo Tian with displeasure. "Tian, what do you mean by that? My daughter was beaten by her and is still lying unconscious in the hospital. As her mother, can't I stand up for her?"

Huo Tian had a stern look on his face. "Your daughter hasn't woken up because she doesn't want to."

"What do you mean by that?"

Huo Tian didn't want to get tangled up with them. "Let's just drop it. You should leave."

"No way," Soong Yu suddenly spoke up.

The three of them looked up at her.

Soong Yu stared at Huo Tian. "Why should we just drop it? My head hurts, and I'm feeling dizzy. I suspect that woman gave me a concussion. I want the hospital to check me out and then call the police."

Huo Tian looked at Soong Yu, who was unwavering in her gaze.

Even though the original person was at fault, Huo Tian's approach didn't sit well with Soong Yu. What did he mean by "let's just drop it"? Was she supposed to just take a hit without being asked?

Even if he didn't like the original person, she paid the price with her life. And now these two women came and hit her, thinking they could just walk away as if nothing happened?

Did they think she was made of clay?

"You've got some nerve. Do you even know who I am?" the wealthy woman challenged.

Soong Yu looked at her coldly. "I don't know who you are, but I do know this is a society governed by law. No matter who you are, if you hit someone, you have to take legal responsibility. Are you above the law?"

Her words left the woman speechless.

"You sound pretty strong for someone with a concussion," the spoiled young lady pointed at Soong Yu.

As soon as she finished speaking, Soong Yu's body went limp, and she collapsed onto the bed, looking weakly at Huo Tian. "Dr. Huo, I'm really dizzy and nauseous..."

She called him Dr. Huo.

Huo Tian watched the dramatic scene unfold, unsure how to react. The two women were equally stunned by Soong Yu's performance.

He glanced at Soong Yu, then finally said, "I'll arrange it."

The spoiled young lady and the wealthy woman were dumbfounded. The wealthy woman pointed at Soong Yu's nose. "Tian, can't you see she's acting?"

Huo Tian replied, "I'm a doctor, not a cop. If a patient says they have a headache, my job is to examine them." With that, he called out loudly, and a nurse came in.

"Take her to get her head checked for a concussion."

"Yes." The nurse went over to help Soong Yu for the examination.

"Tian," Aunt He, whose full name is He Fang, pointed at Tian and shouted, "Don't pretend to be clueless here. Are you protecting that little troublemaker? She set you up, and now she's knocked my daughter unconscious. What's wrong with me teaching a delusional troublemaker a lesson?"

He Fang kept calling her a troublemaker, making Tian frown deeply.

"Aunt He, please show some respect."

He Fang looked at Tian in surprise, shaking her head in disbelief. "Have you fallen for that troublemaker? Ha, it seems she's got some tricks up her sleeve. But what about our Zhenzhen? Tell me, what about our Zhenzhen?" Her last words were practically a shout.

Tian didn't know what to say. Yes, he did have some feelings for Yang Zhenzhen, but ever since the incident with Soong Yu, he had made things clear with Yang Zhenzhen.

Three days ago, when the incident happened, someone saw Yang Zhenzhen and another woman attacking Soong Yu.

Tian had personally performed Soong Yu's surgery. Although the surgery was successful, if she didn't wake up within three days, there was a significant risk of her remaining in a vegetative state.
