C4 Let's Get a Divorce!
Yesterday, he intended to check on her condition, only to find she was awake. So far, her recovery seemed to be going well. As for Zhenzhen, she only had a few bruises. Lying there, occupying a bed, she thought he didn't know.
"Huo Tian, think about your status compared to hers. Do you really want people gossiping about you forever? You have a bright future ahead. Are you willing to let a mere housekeeper ruin it?" He Fang advised earnestly, "You and our Zhenzhen are a perfect match."
Huo Tian looked at He Fang, "Aunt He, let's not discuss this anymore." With that, he turned and left.
He Fang turned to the young woman beside her, "Hemin, what did Huo Tian mean by that?"
Hemin, He Fang's niece, replied, "Aunt, he means he doesn't want my sister anymore."
He Fang's face flushed with anger. She thought, "There's no way he's getting rid of my daughter."
Huo Tian found Soong Yu just as she finished her check-up. When she saw him enter, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. No matter how good-looking he was, she wasn't impressed right now.
Huo Tian noticed her reaction but ignored it, asking the doctor about her results.
"It is indeed a concussion," the doctor confirmed. Although the full report would be ready tomorrow, diagnosing a concussion was straightforward.
"Doctor, can I use your report to press charges against the person who hit me?" Soong Yu asked, deliberately ignoring Huo Tian.
The doctor glanced at Huo Tian, smiling awkwardly, aware of their relationship. "You might want to ask Dr. Huo about that."
"You examined me, so I'm asking you."
"Dr. Huo performed your surgery."
Soong Yu looked up at Huo Tian, suddenly recalling that in her past life, a doctor with the same last name had operated on her and even comforted her. How could two people with the same last name be so different?
Soong Yu pressed her lips together, staying silent.
Huo Tian grabbed her arm, pulling her up. "Thank you, Dr. Li," he said, before unceremoniously dragging Soong Yu away.
"Slow down, I'm feeling dizzy," Soong Yu muttered.
Huo Tian glanced at her and slowed his pace. He might not have any feelings for her, but he wasn't heartless.
Back in the hospital room, He Fang and He Min had already left.
Soong Yu shook off Huo Tian's hand and went straight to sit on the bed. After shutting the door, he pulled a chair over and sat down, scrutinizing her for a long time. His gaze made her uneasy before he finally spoke, "Let's get a divorce."
Soong Yu was momentarily stunned, but then she remembered what that wealthy woman had said. It made sense; he wanted to be with someone from a prestigious family.
With that thought, any goodwill she had for Huo Tian vanished.
"Are you going to that woman after the divorce?" Soong Yu asked coldly.
Huo Tian frowned, "That's none of your business."
"Ha, I have a concussion, not amnesia. If I remember correctly, we're still legally married, so it is my business."
Huo Tian's gaze turned icy.
Soong Yu wasn't afraid. After all, the only leverage Huo Tian had over her was the threat of divorce. To her, it wasn't a blow but a relief.
Huo Tian continued, "Do you want me to remind you how we ended up married? Should I tell you what you put in my drink that night?"
He squinted at her, making Soong Yu feel a twinge of fear and guilt.
"Soong Yu, everyone has their limits. I made it clear that as long as you took good care of Grandpa and Huo Ning, I would let you keep the title of Mrs. Huo. But what did you do?"
Soong Yu sneered, "What did I do? You didn't see me almost getting beaten to death by your lover? Or your lover's mother coming to the hospital to attack me? Huo Tian, even if I did manipulate you, I'm still human..." Her voice rose at the last sentence.
Huo Tian paused before replying, "You brought that on yourself."
Soong Yu was so furious she lost her voice, grabbing a pillow and hurling it across the room.
"Get out..."
Huo Tian caught it effortlessly, remaining seated and calm.
"I'll give you anything you want, as long as you agree to the divorce."
"You want a divorce?" Soong Yu looked at Huo Tian.
Huo Tian stayed silent, just watching her.
"A divorce is fine, but I have conditions."
"Name them," Huo Tian replied, as if he had expected this.
"You can marry anyone you want afterward, just not the one who started all this."
"You're talking about Yang Zhenzhen?"
"I don't care if she's real or fake, she's the one who hit me."
Huo Tian looked at her without a word.
"What? Having second thoughts?" Soong Yu sneered. "Either agree to this condition and we can discuss the rest, or... we'll just drag this out forever. I've got nothing to lose."
Seeing Soong Yu like this, Huo Tian couldn't shake the feeling that it all seemed surreal.
