C5 Get out as Soon as Possible!

The difference in her demeanor was more than just a little noticeable.

Huo Tian snapped back to reality. "Alright, I agree."

Soong Yu hadn't expected Huo Tian to agree so readily. She sarcastically remarked, "Seems like your feelings for that so-called lady aren't as deep as you claim, huh?"

"That's none of your business," Huo Tian retorted.

Soong Yu snorted, "I need money." She wanted to head south to find her parents, though she wasn't sure if she could. Regardless of the era, nothing works without money. As someone who had been given a second chance, she was unfamiliar with the situation here, and having no money made her feel insecure.

Huo Tian nodded. "Okay."

"And I need a place to stay." She had nowhere to live after leaving the Huo family. She wasn't sure if she could even rent a place in this era, so she needed somewhere to settle.

She noticed a flash of sarcasm on Huo Tian's face.

Let him be sarcastic, it didn't bother her.

"You need to tell Grandpa that the divorce was your idea. If I bring it up, he’ll be furious, and he's too old to handle that. As compensation, our family has a small house on Qingyang Road that belonged to my grandmother. Technically, you have no right to it, but if you agree to this... the house is yours."

Huo Tian found her demands excessive, especially since she was the one at fault and deserved nothing. But he couldn't bring it up; it was best if she did.

"Fine," Soong Yu agreed. She only intended to find a temporary place, but since he offered, she wasn't foolish enough to refuse. After all, the original owner of her body had paid with her life.

Consider it compensation for the original owner.

"I'll give you three thousand dollars upfront. Once you take the money and the house, we're done. I also expect you to promise never to appear in front of anyone from the Huo family again, including at work." Huo Tian's voice was icy, his disdain as clear as if Soong Yu were some kind of plague.

Although Soong Yu wasn't the original owner of the body, hearing those words still made her feel a bit embarrassed. But there was no choice; since she had taken over the body, she had to deal with all the foolish and bad things the original owner had done.

Huo Tian stood up. "I'll prepare an agreement by tomorrow. If you have no objections, you can sign it. It's October now, so in four months, it'll be six months since we married, and then we can divorce."

"Why wait?" Soong Yu was eager to leave the hospital and head straight to the courthouse for a divorce.

Huo Tian looked at her. "That way, Grandpa will believe it wasn't my idea."

Soong Yu mimicked his smirk. "Fine." Her response was quick and without hesitation.

Huo Tian felt a surge of irritation at her attitude. He suppressed his annoyance and slammed the door as he left.

Watching Huo Tian walk away, Soong Yu let out a sigh of relief.

Alright, even though she woke up to find herself married and soon to be divorced, it didn't matter. She had been given a second chance at life and didn't want to waste it. She was determined to find her parents and brother as soon as possible. If she could live with them, that would be even better. It was October 1990, and there were still more than six months before she was sold in her past life. She had four months until she could leave, which should give her enough time to make it back.

She needed to find her parents before anything happened. As she thought about this, she frowned. She had been reborn into someone else's body, so where was her original self? Was it the soul of this body now?

The more she thought about it, the more anxious Soong Yu became to leave. Most importantly, she was determined not to let Gao Yueqin's family have an easy time.

Soong Yu thought about many things until she fell asleep. When she woke up, it was already broad daylight.

After three days of recuperating in the hospital and confirming there were no major health issues, Soong Yu wanted to leave. Every extra day she spent here delayed her journey home.

On the fourth morning, just after finishing breakfast, Huo Tian arrived. Her medical reports were all clear, and she only needed to rest at home. He was there to discharge her from the hospital.

Soong Yu quickly packed her things and silently followed behind Huo Tian. As for her earlier threats, they were just empty words.

Huo Tian was driving a company car, its military green body resembling a Jeep.

Once in the car, neither of them spoke. Huo Tian had no desire to talk to her, and Soong Yu felt there was nothing worth saying.

The drive back from the hospital to the complex was silent, and it was nearly eleven by the time they arrived.

The car stopped at the entrance of the complex, but Huo Tian didn't get out. Staring straight ahead, he said, "You'll stay at my place for the next few months. Once the time is up, you need to move out immediately. This is the draft agreement, and it will take effect once you sign the divorce papers. Take a look."

Soong Yu replied, "The sooner, the better."

Huo Tian felt a pang in his chest at her expression. Who was more fed up with whom here, anyway?
