C4 They Lived in the Villa!

“Hold on, I'm pregnant, and it's still early days.” Nannan gently pressed her hand against his chest to prevent him from making any further moves, her eyes teasingly watching him.

“Damn it,” Yizhou muttered under his breath. Was she deliberately messing with him? Of all times, she chose now to mention this. If she weren't pregnant, he might have strangled her. Last time, she drugged him, but why was he reacting to her now?

Yizhou walked into the bathroom and splashed water on his face. His interest, which had been hard to muster, was now completely doused. Considering she was pregnant, he'd let it go—after all, it was a life.

“What’s the matter? Afraid you’re falling for me?” Nannan sat in the chair, her long lashes fluttering. Who would have thought such an innocent-looking girl could have such schemes? If it weren't for what she did, Yizhou might have thought she was just a naive young woman.

“You’re overestimating yourself. You can have the baby, but don’t think you’re marrying into money,” Yizhou replied, rarely did a woman get under his skin like this—Nannan was the first.

“Got it,” Nannan said with a resigned pout. As long as he was willing to compromise, there would be more opportunities. She wasn’t in a rush; playing the long game was more interesting. She would make sure to settle the score for every wrong done to her family.

“To prevent any regrets, don’t even think about getting rid of this child. After all, it’s part of the family. From today, I’ll arrange a place for you to stay until the baby is born. Miss Xia, you should be thrilled to move into such a big house.”

Yizhou looked at her, remembering the humiliation of that day, and it made his teeth clench. He’d been played by a woman. But she wasn’t interested in him for love—otherwise, why the disdainful look on the surveillance footage? She must have been after his money to take such a risk.

"Whatever," Nannan looked at him, thinking, You brought this on yourself, don't blame me. Soon enough, you'll realize how foolish your so-called cleverness is. Don't think you can control everything; what you value might mean nothing to others.

Zheng Yizhou grabbed Nannan and started dragging her outside without a hint of gentleness. Wasn't it all about money? Why pretend to be above it all when you're clearly eager to live in a big house, yet act like you don't care?

"You made it out," Huangfu Ling approached, surprised that she was unharmed. What did she do to make Zheng Yizhou go easy on her?

"Yeah, let's go," Zheng Yizhou nodded, pulling Nannan along.

"Hey, slow down," Nannan tugged at him. She was pregnant, after all. Being dragged around like this wasn't good for anyone, let alone someone in her condition.

"What are you planning to do with her?" Huangfu Ling whispered, noting that Nannan was quite a beauty. Too bad she messed with the wrong person. Trying to climb the social ladder by targeting Zheng Yizhou was a mistake; he wasn't someone to be trifled with.

"What can I do? She's pregnant," Zheng Yizhou replied, releasing her arm. He was sure she wouldn't run; after all, she had her sights set on him.

"You don't actually plan to keep the baby, do you?" Huangfu Ling was shocked. This wasn't the Zheng Yizhou he knew. When did he become so soft-hearted? Could he have feelings for her? She was the first to get this close to him, after all.

"What else? You head back; I'm leaving," Zheng Yizhou retorted, pulling Nannan along. She jogged to keep up, occasionally asking him to slow down.

"Hey, you're just going to ditch me like that? Chasing after someone new?" Huangfu Ling shouted, resigned to hailing a cab himself. "Sigh, I really picked the wrong friend. After all I've done for him, he runs off with some girl."

Huangfu Ling sighed in frustration. Zheng Yizhou was never short of beautiful women around him, but this time... What was it about that girl that made Zheng Yizhou let everything slide?

"Listen, from today on, you're staying here until the baby is born. Don't even think about running away or pulling any stunts. You know the consequences," Zheng Yizhou said as he brought Xia Nannan to a villa. It was a beachfront property, with the ocean just outside the door.

"Not even a single servant? Are you planning to leave me out here in the middle of nowhere to fend for myself?" Xia Nannan looked around. She had expected that Zheng Yizhou wouldn't take her to his family home, but this place was so isolated that even buying something would be a hassle.

"Being pregnant isn't a disability. Can't you take care of yourself? I've arranged for someone to keep an eye on you. If you need to go out, just tell him, and he'll take you." This was as far as Zheng Yizhou was willing to go. Honestly, he could have just left Xia Nannan anywhere, and it wouldn't have mattered.

"Alright, I get it," Xia Nannan said as she walked inside. It was quite spacious, likely his private villa. Did he really think having someone watch her would keep her in check? If she wanted, she could easily make herself known to his parents. But knowing his mother's personality, she was even more difficult and ruthless than Zheng Yizhou.

"The room at the end of the hall upstairs is yours. My study and the master bedroom are off-limits unless I say otherwise," Zheng Yizhou pointed to the room at the end of the corridor. Even though it was the smallest room, it was still twice the size of a typical master bedroom. The first floor was mostly entertainment facilities.

"Got it." Nannan rolled her eyes at him and headed upstairs, the door slamming shut behind her.

Zheng Yizhou glared up the stairs, seething. She was really pushing it, acting all high and mighty just because she was pregnant. He was curious to see what other tricks she had up her sleeve.

"Get me all the details on Nannan, as thorough as possible," Zheng Yizhou said, pulling out his phone to call Huangfu Ling.

"You want me to do you a favor after you just ditched me? I haven't even called you out on that yet," Huangfu Ling complained, sounding like a jilted lover.

"Quit whining and get on it," Zheng Yizhou snapped, hanging up. He knew Huangfu Ling was just messing with him and would get the job done. That woman was going to regret crossing him. He glared menacingly at the ceiling, determined to show her the consequences of messing with the wrong person.
