First chapter - Reunion

The bathroom was foggy and the air was so hot that she couldn't breathe.

A man was standing a meter away from her - he narrowed his eyes at her, his dark eyes deep and intent. There was a dangerous and fanatical look in his eyes - she couldn't help but feel as though she was standing before him, naked and vulnerable, at the complete mercy of his piercing and intense eyes.

She couldn't help but shudder and take a step back, only for him to stealthily step forward towards her, his eyes never leaving her.

She staggered all the way back such that her back was pressed against the cold, hard wall - she was trapped. There was no way out for her - she could do nothing but widen her eyes in panic as he drew closer and closer to her.

The man then raised his hands and started to undo his buttons one by one - his thin lips parted slightly as his deep and sonorous voice rang slightly in her ears.

"You'll forever be mine."

Qiao Weiyi woke up from her nightmare at this moment - she'd gotten so worked up that her forehead was covered with a layer of sweat.

She looked in front of her, her eyes shifting slightly worriedly and uncertainly - alas, there was no imminent danger before her. All that was in front of her was her computer. She glanced out of the window uneasily to see the dark green leaves of a tree basking under the bright sunlight.

Qiao Weiyi shakily raised her hand to wipe of the sheen of sweat that was coating her forehead as she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Luckily for her, it was all just a dream.

A dream - no, a nightmare that had been plaguing and haunting her for five whole years now.

Qiao Weiyi's eyes remained closed as her hands fumbled around her table until they found the lemon tea that she'd been drinking - it was only after she'd taken a sip did Qiao Weiyi finally find herself calming down.

Was it because she'd returned to City A? The scene in her dream had been so vivid that it was almost as though it'd actually happened - it was almost as though what happened five years ago was replaying itself all over again. Qiao Weiyi's heart started to palpitate at this thought - she couldn't help but shift uncomfortably and uneasily.

Just then, her phone, which was on the table, vibrated slightly.

Qiao Weiyi opened her eyes and looked at her phone - it was one of the kindergarten teachers calling. She furrowed her brows slightly - it was still lunchtime. Why was the teacher calling her?

"Hello?"

"Miss Qiao, I wish to inform you that your child, Qiao, had gotten into a fight with another child - are you free now? If you are, I was wondering if you could come down as soon as possible."

Qiao Weiyi's pupils contracted at this!

Qiao Weiyi couldn't believe that Qiao, who was scrawny and small-sized, could actually get into a fight with another child at the kindergarten!

Qiao Weiyi hastily murmured to the kindergarten teacher that she would be right over before darting out of the house as soon as she'd retrieved her bag and keys.

When she finally reached the kindergarten, Qiao Weiyi registered herself at the security office before walking in as soon as she could.

Qiao Weiyi had just left when a posh and luxurious-looking black Bentley stopped by the side of the road - the door opened to reveal a chauffeur donned in a pair of white gloves and a smart-looking black and gold uniform. He proceeded to walk to the back of the car to open the door for the person seated inside.

A straight and long leg stretched out of the car, the well-tailored and high-quality pants of the figure complementing his leg perfectly and exquisitely.

A light sound was created when the sole of the leather shoes that the figure was wearing landed on the stone floor.

The kindergarten security guard, who'd been lazily reclining against his black leather chair, immediately sat up and straightened his clothes as soon as he glanced outside and noticed the figure - he then proceeded to stand up and greet the latter with a wide grin on his face.

"Oh, Chairman Zhung, it's you - why are you here in person today?"

Zhung Shiyan looked at the attentive guard and curled his lips slightly to form a faint smile.

Even though Zhung Shiyan was a member of the high society and the upper class with the power to exert his power and influence over others, he wasn't the slightest bit arrogant or haughty - besides, his son went to school at this very kindergarten. He didn't want people to care for his son out of their fear of him; instead, he wanted them to care for his son because they wanted to.

Even though the person in front of Zhung Shiyan was a mere security guard, Zhung Shiyan did not ignore him and was polite to him.

"Oh, Teacher Zhou informed me that Niansheng got into a fight with another child today, that's why I came over..."

Just then, Zhung Shiyan couldn't help but inadvertently glance at the slim figure that had rushed into the kindergarten - he instantly tensed up slightly as he swallowed his words slightly.

Sheng!

Zhung Shiyan continued to stare intently at that figure - seeing that the former wasn't speaking, the security guard smiled and reassured, "Don't worry, President Zhung, Young Master Zhung is a smart and sensible child. I'm sure that it was the other child's fault and not his..."

Before the security guard could even finish his sentence, Chairman Zhung sprang up and sprinted towards the kindergarten gates at top speed!

The security guard's mouth hung open in shock - he wasn't quite sure what had just happened.
