C6 What Kind of Background Does This Man Have?

The person who walked in was a tall and beautiful woman wearing an expensive red dress and heels that were nearly 8 inches high - she glanced at Qiao Weiyi and Qiao Nuo as soon as she'd walked in.

She instantly recognized Qiao Nuo and Zhung Niansheng as the ones who'd attacked her son - however, it was Qiao Nuo who'd inflicted more harm on him than Zhung Niansheng. She was the one who'd hit him in the face while Zhung Niansheng had merely kicked him here and there.

"Little girl, you're quite the feisty one, aren't you?" she sneered haughtily at Qiao Weiyi and Qiao Nuo, "It was you who'd injured my son, wasn't it?"

Qiao Nuo knew that this woman was Fatty's mother - since she resented Fatty, it was only natural for her to resent his mother as well.

Qiao Nuo tugged on her mother's sleeves as though she was her lifeline as she retorted, "It was Fatty who'd spoken ill of us first! We wouldn't have hit him had he not done that!"

"My son was right," The woman scowled at Qiao Weiyi, "A girl without a father does indeed tend to run wild and lack discipline - Miss Qiao, seeing that you don't seem to know how to educate your child, why don't I do it for you instead?"

"There's no need for that," Qiao Weiyi held back her daughter as she smirked at the woman, "I'm afraid that my daughter would end up like your pathetic and cowardly son who doesn't know how to do anything save for gossiping behind others' backs should I entrust her to you - I would much rather my daughter remain the way that she is now."

"How dare you!"

The woman was getting so worked up that her lips began to tremble - she couldn't believe that Qiao Weiyi had the nerve to mock her son for being a good-for-nothing who only knew how to gossip about others behind their backs!

She clenched her fists and shifted her glare from Qiao Weiyi to Zhung Shiyan, whom she hadn't looked at once since she'd entered - she sneered, "Your children beat my son up so badly that he ended up getting hospitalized - yet, the two of you still have the nerve to act so arrogantly! I initially wanted to let the matter slide, but seeing how remorseless the both of you are, I'm not going to let this matter rest just like that!"

"What do you intend to do then?" Zhung Shiyan drawled as he appeared unimpressed by the fuming woman in front of him.

As he spoke, his hand gently caressed his son's back as he coaxed him to sleep.

Even though Zhung Shiyan was clearly a typically cold and indifferent man, he was extremely gentle and caring towards his son - Teacher Zhou couldn't help but feel the urge to cover her slightly flushed face at the sight of this startling contrast.

"Since you don't seem to have the intention of apologizing to me, I'll sue you!" The woman glared at Zhung Shiyan angrily and threatened.

The woman thought that she could intimidate Zhung Shiyan and Qiao Weiyi with these words - after all, people usually shuddered at the idea of getting the police involved.

Alas, instead of being worried, Zhung Shiyan remained extremely calm. "Did your son have his injuries checked?" he asked, "Or had he, perhaps, passed away?"

The woman couldn't help but feel thrown off by Zhung Shiyan's words - she knew that her son's face was merely slightly swollen from being slapped a couple of times. Even though his injuries looked rather appalling, they actually couldn't even be considered minor injuries.

After all, his injuries were caused by two children - how much strength could a child possibly have?

The woman originally intended to scare Zhung Shiyan and Qiao Weiyi into offering her some compensation so as to make up for what their children had done to her son - she actually had no intention of getting the police involved.

Seeing that the woman wasn't saying anything, Zhung Shiyan curled his lips as he scoffed sarcastically, "It seems that his injuries aren't serious enough," he clicked his teeth, "This won't do - he'll continue to repeat his mistakes since he hadn't been taught enough of a lesson."

"Are you threatening me?"

The woman was shocked by how nonchalant and unbothered Zhung Shiyan seemed to be - even though she was starting to feel intimidated by and afraid of him, she willed herself to continue to stand her ground.

Alas, the voice in her heart couldn't help but wonder if she'd offended someone whom she shouldn't have offended.

Could it be that Zhung Shiyan was of some distinguished and sophisticated background?
