C7 Hiding

In order to comfort himself, the official kept talking to the unconscious Ji Jing, "I've already sacrificed so much. If you were to die, I would still feel the shadow in my heart."

The man frowned in confusion and displeasure. The woman's nagging really made him upset.

Ji Jingjing struggled to wake up. Her voice was hoarse as she said, "Woman, shut up."

The officer paused, unaware that they were still hugging each other, naked, her lips curling in a radiant smile. "You're finally awake."

As soon as she finished speaking, Ji Jingshi's eyes turned cold. He covered her mouth and pressed her lower body down as he gasped for breath, "Someone's coming."

As soon as he woke up, there were troops chasing him. This was really a bad thought.

When the official looked up at Ji Jing's dying appearance, he pursed his lips and realized that the two of them were still touching, extremely ambiguous.

She coughed dryly and turned her head away. "Close your eyes."

Ji Jing, who was concentrating all his attention on listening to what was happening outside, sneered as he glanced at her, "It's all done. Isn't it too late to be shy now?"

The officer stared, wanting to bite. However, it was imperative to finish off the pursuers. "I have a way of luring the pursuers away."

Ji Jing paused. He obviously didn't believe her, but he was too weak to argue with her.

He rolled onto his back and pulled his clothes on. He was ready for battle, even though he couldn't hit himself twice.

Just as Ji Jing was thinking this, he saw Shangguan Ran standing at the doorway, picking up rocks and branches and dry grass, fiddling with them. Not far away, the assassin was getting closer and closer to him.

Ji Jingshui walked over with his arms behind his back, breathing heavily as he asked, "What are you doing?"

The officer's hand trembled, almost destroying the somewhat fragile trap. She covered up the dead grass and pulled at the grass vines covering the entrance to the cave, looking as if she had become one with the cave.

"Shh!" She held a very thick stick in her left hand, and in her right hand she held a grass vine that extended from the outside.

The official guarded Ji Jingshi behind him, his eyes fixed on the door, his ears listening to the footsteps getting closer and closer.

Ji Jing's eyes flickered. He suddenly didn't understand this woman anymore.

What a strange woman!

Suddenly, the muscles all over his body tightened as he stared fixedly at the door. The sound of footsteps had already arrived. It seemed like there were only three or five people there.

Subconsciously, he took hold of his large hand and stiffened.

"Go in and search!"

Just as Ji Jing was about to make his move, the vine in Guan Ran's hand shook, and she suddenly dragged the grass vine into the cave, as if she had pulled some sort of mechanism.

After a moment, it was quiet again.

With a sigh of relief, he threw away the grass vines and sat down on the ground, his legs feeling a little weak. She had spent some time to set up a trap at the entrance. Originally, she had wanted to prevent the beasts from attacking her, but she hadn't thought that she would be able to escape this calamity.

Ji Jing took a look and saw that all of them had fallen into a trap, rolling down the hill. They were pinned down by a rock and were unable to move.

He glanced back at the woman, who had already raised her head and regained her composure. "We have to get out of here as soon as possible."

Ji Jing paused for a moment before he nodded.

"..."

Ji Jing was too hurt to travel too far. She didn't dare to send anyone back to the palace, so she could only find a place to stay and avoid being chased by soldiers.

The official took Ji Jingshi carefully down the mountain to the village. The two of them were a perfect couple, and even if they were a little embarrassed, it was only natural that they were mistaken for young couples.

He made up a reason to run away from a couple of the villagers, an old couple who had no children and lived in leisure, and were delighted to see them.

With the care of this old couple, the two of them were well taken care of. Ji Jing's injuries gradually healed. After all, he was the ruler of a country. Thus, he decided to leave immediately.

"Return to the palace?"

The officer looked at the serious Ji Jing and pursed his lips, "Aren't you afraid of being chased again?"

After a few days of being together with Ji Jing, it didn't feel wrong to address her as a commoner. She even felt that apart from being a bit cold, Ji Jing was actually a good man.

Ji Jing glanced at her. The night was beautiful, the moon hung high in the sky, and the stars were faintly dotted, giving her a sense of beauty.

His voice had clearly softened a little, "The dark guard is already here."

Just as she finished speaking, a black figure suddenly appeared behind Guan Ran, with a solemn voice, "Your subordinate pays his respects to the Emperor."

The officer was shocked and almost screamed, "You …" When did you get here? "

That person didn't say anything. It was obvious that he only recognized Ji Jing as his master.

"You too." Ji Jing gave a simple introduction. There seemed to be a joyful smile on his lips as he said, "Ran …"

When he called out, he felt a little uncomfortable in front of his subordinates. However, he had been pretending to be a runaway couple for the past few days. He always called her that and was already used to it, so he didn't deliberately change it.
