C14 The Woman That the Ceo Loved the Most
Ye Junhao's phone rang that evening.
Regaining his composure, Ye Junhao glanced at the caller ID before answering. As the eyes of everyone around him watched, a pleased smile briefly graced his lips. Though he quickly suppressed it, returning to his usual stoic demeanor, everyone had noticed that fleeting grin.
The caller was clearly someone of utmost importance to the president.
Who could it be?
With a low tone, Ye Junhao answered, "What's the matter?"
It was Mu Chuchen on the line.
He had been waiting for this call from Mu Chuchen for quite some time.
On the phone, Mu Chuchen's voice was sweet as she said, "Jun Hao, I don't know your size. I need your measurements to buy you clothes."
Despite being married for two lifetimes, she genuinely didn't know Ye Junhao's size and had never given him any gifts.
After a brief pause, Ye Junhao replied, "I'll send them to you later."
He preferred to keep a low profile in front of the company's executives, avoiding any overt displays of affection that might tempt fate.
"Alright, but please be quick," she urged.
"Mhm."
"I'll let you go now so I don't interrupt your work. Don't forget to pick me up from the pedestrian street after work, and we'll have lunch at home together."
"Okay."
Ye Junhao consented.
Mu Chuchen didn't hang up, waiting for Ye Junhao to end the call first. Realizing she was still on the line, Ye Junhao asked in a low voice, "Anything else?"
"No, I'm just waiting for you to hang up."
With a soft chuckle, Ye Junhao left the senior management speechless. They could only surmise that the caller was a woman, and not just any woman, but the one Ye Junhao cherished most.
Despite being a devoted husband and father, Ye Junhao's allure remained undeniable. Many women openly admired and secretly longed for him, aspiring to take the place of the president's wife.
It was common knowledge that their president's wife was adept at stirring up trouble. Over the years, her antics had managed to ruffle the feathers of the entire social elite.
The CEO often found himself humbly apologizing for his wife's antics.
With a wife notorious for stirring up trouble, it wasn't surprising that the CEO sought companionship elsewhere.
"Go ahead and hang up," Ye Junhao insisted, not wanting Chuchen to be kept waiting—he was happy to wait for her.
Chuchen repeated, "Don't forget to pick me up later, okay?"
With that, she ended the call.
Ye Junhao wished he could kiss his phone screen, if only the setting had been appropriate.
Whatever had gotten into Chuchen today, he was pleasantly surprised by her warmth and the fact that she had initiated the call. He would brave any challenge for her, no matter how daunting.
After texting his clothing measurements to Chuchen, Ye Junhao placed his phone down and cheerfully announced to the room, "Let's continue with the meeting."
The attendees breathed a collective sigh of relief, each wiping away a bead of sweat in secret.
Refocused, Ye Junhao led the meeting with determination, swiftly handling the issues at hand before concluding the session.
Exiting the conference room, Ming Yu's assistant approached, carrying Ye Mu.
Feeling neglected because his father hadn't taken him to the meeting, Ye Mu was on the verge of tears, his lips turned down in a pout.
"Mu," Ye Junhao greeted as he took his son into his arms, expressing his gratitude to the assistant who assured him, "No thanks needed. Mu has been very well-behaved."
Despite his pout, Ye Mu hadn't caused any trouble.
"Daddy," Ye Mu's voice quivered, and as his father embraced him, tears finally spilled over. He clung to his father's neck, calling out to him repeatedly.
Instead of heading back to his office, Ye Junhao carried his son straight to the elevator, soothing him as they went. "Daddy's sorry for not bringing Mu along. No more tears, okay? We're going to pick up Mommy now."
