C17 His Wife Is in His Room

Ye Junhao chuckled at himself, but his laughter soon faded as he spoke with a cold edge, "Don't bother cooking for me if I'm not coming back for dinner. Just save it for when you're ready to divorce me, then you can cook for your beloved Chung Sen."

With those words, Ye Junhao swept up his son and strode away.

Mu Chuchen watched him go, a numb feeling taking over.

Oh, the irony.

Once, it was she who had pushed and prodded Ye Junhao for a divorce. Now, the tables had turned, and it was Ye Junhao pressing her for an agreement.

"Jun Hao."

Mu Chuchen whispered to herself, "I won't give up that easily."

She was determined to convince Ye Junhao that she had truly had a change of heart and wanted to make their marriage work.

Ye Junhao didn't come home for dinner that evening and had engagements late into the night. By the time he returned, it was eleven o'clock.

Little Ye Mu had long since fallen asleep. Ye Junhao tiptoed upstairs with his son in his arms.

Ye Mu was already dreaming away. Ye Junhao decided to wait until morning to bathe his son.

After ascending the stairs with his son, he glanced at Mu Chuchen's room. The door was shut, no light peeked through; it was late, she was surely asleep.

Ye Junhao gave a self-mocking laugh, murmuring to himself, "I actually thought she might wait up for me. How could I be so foolish? It's nothing but a pipe dream."

Shaking off his disappointment, Ye Junhao carried his son towards his own bedroom.

Little Ye Mu, just over two years old, hadn't yet moved to his own bed and still slept with his father.

Standing at his bedroom door, Ye Junhao managed to open it with one hand.

He stepped inside with his son, and the room was soon bathed in light.

Ye Junhao's master bedroom was spacious, divided into an inner chamber, a small study, a walk-in closet, a bathroom, and a small bar to the right of the entrance.

Ye Mu was deep in slumber. Ye Junhao carried his son directly into the inner chamber, and upon entering, he received quite the startle. His son nearly slipped from his arms in surprise, but he quickly tightened his hold, preventing a fall born from his shock.

Mu Chuchen was clad in a sensual nightgown, sprawled across the expanse of his large bed without a blanket. The moment he flicked on the light, her alluring silhouette was faintly visible through the sheer fabric.

How had she ended up in his room?

They always made a point of locking their doors when they left, but they both knew where the spare key was kept in the house.

Ye Junhao swallowed hard, trying to contain his reaction.

With his son in his arms, he turned to leave.

"Jun Hao," came a delicate voice.

Chuchen had been half-asleep, not fully settled, and despite his attempt at quiet footsteps, her light sleep meant she was easily disturbed. Her eyes snapped open just in time to see him turning away.

Without a second thought, Chuchen called out to him, halting his departure.

Ye Junhao paused, conflicted. He wanted to face her, but the thought of her enticing sleepwear and the curves it barely concealed made him hesitate – his self-control was at its limit.

And yet, he was seething with frustration.

This woman seemed hell-bent on tormenting him! All day, she had been provocatively teasing him. Was she unaware that he was a normal man who, despite years of restraint, still craved the pleasures he'd once known? Her flirtations were pushing him to the brink; he could easily overpower her, strip her bare, and give in to his desires.

And she would have no one to blame but herself.

"Why are you in my room?" Ye Junhao's voice was icy, though Chuchen might have discerned the feigned detachment if she listened closely.

He was using his aloof demeanor as a shield now.

"I... aren't we married? Married couples share a room, don't they? This is your room, but it's mine too," Chuchen said as she rose from the bed and approached him.

Feeling her draw near, Ye Junhao quickly walked away with his son, saying, "Chuchen, it's late, and I'm exhausted. I don't have the time or energy for this back-and-forth. Please, just leave me be and go back to your own room."
