C25 The Scumbag also Came Back

"Mu, call him Uncle Jiang."

As Ye Mu was nestled into his mother's arms by his father, he puckered his lips, on the verge of tears. Thankfully, his father scooped him back up. Hearing his father's instruction, he blinked his large eyes, so like Mu Chuchen's, and in a babyish voice said, "Uncle Jiang."

Chung Sen had to work hard to keep his emotions in check.

Ye Junhao wasn't one to flaunt his and Chuchen's bliss, yet the sight of the family of three—handsome husband, beautiful wife, and adorable son—was a silent testament to their happiness.

Chung Sen felt a surge of jealousy.

"The little one is absolutely adorable."

Chung Sen complimented Ye Mu, then turned to Mu Chuchen, catching a fleeting glimpse of resentment in her eyes, which left him momentarily taken aback.

"Jun Hao, Chuchen, it's quite sunny out here. Let's head inside."

Mu Zhiyuan despised Chung Sen. If Ye Junhao weren't present, he would have already swung a punch at Chung Sen to send him packing.

This man's presence had severely impacted his sister's marriage.

After all, she had endured years of turmoil largely because of him.

With Ye Junhao there, facing his romantic rival, Mu Zhiyuan refrained from intervening.

"Director Ye, may I speak with Chuchen in private for a moment?"

Chung Sen's request came out of the blue.

Mu Zhiyuan scowled.

Chung Sen's return was nothing but trouble.

Ye Junhao glanced at the woman by his side and spoke in a deep tone, "It's Chuchen's choice. If she's willing, I have no objections."

She had expressed her desire for a harmonious life together.

Now that Chung Sen was back, he was curious to see if her words held true.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Chung, but there's nothing I need to discuss with you," Mu Chuchen said, suppressing the impulse to lash out at Chung Sen, her demeanor cool and detached.

She then affectionately looped her arm through Ye Junhao's, looked up at him with a sweet smile, and said, "Honey, let's go inside. I've been out shopping all morning and I'm both exhausted and hungry."

Ye Junhao glanced at Chung Sen and, with a note of regret in his voice, said, "Mr. Chung, I'm sorry, but if my wife is unwilling, I must respect her wishes."

Chung Sen didn't insist. He remained still, watching as Mu Chuchen clung to Ye Junhao's arm and they walked into the hotel together.

It wasn't until they were out of sight that he turned and made his way to a car parked nearby.

Chuchen had changed.

Once inside the car, Chung Sen pulled out his phone and stared at the image on the screen – a photograph of Mu Chuchen.

"Chuchen, is any of this real or is it all a facade? Am I dreaming, or did it actually happen? If it did happen, you'd still be here, alive."

Confusion laced Chung Sen's words.

He had a bizarre dream a few days ago.

In it, he was despicable, a scoundrel, convincing Chuchen to rekindle their past and elope from Jin City. After squandering all of Chuchen's money, he cruelly provoked her during her illness, causing her to cough up blood and die in a strange land.

Afterward, he demanded a million from Ye Junhao before agreeing to return Chuchen's remains.

Awakening from the dream, he was disoriented for a long time, unable to distinguish between the nightmare and reality.

How could he ever treat Chuchen in such a way? Even though Chuchen was now married, she remained his most cherished and unforgettable first love in his heart.

Abandoning his burgeoning career, he rushed back to Jin City.

Thankfully, Chuchen was alive and well, and her relationship with Ye Junhao appeared to be strong.

"But Chuchen, seeing you with Ye Junhao, my heart hurts even more. You belong to me, you're meant for me. Wait for me. One day, I'll win you back!"

Chung Sen made a silent vow to himself that he would reclaim Mu Chuchen from Ye Junhao's side.

He aspired to rise above the rest, to tower over all others, and to show the world that he, Chung Sen, was indeed worthy of Mu Chuchen.
