C29 My Brand
A few minutes later, Mu Chuchen casually emerged with a milk bottle in hand and handed the prepared formula to Ye Mu.
Ye Mu accepted the bottle without hesitation and even thanked her in a childlike tone, "Thank you, Mom."
Disliking his mother was one thing; manners were another.
Mu Chuchen was thrilled when her son called her "Mom."
It was a promising beginning.
She was confident that, in time, her son would come to accept her as his birth mother.
After finishing his meeting, Ye Junhao was informed by Ming Yu's assistant, Little Ling, before he could enter his office, "President, the old lady has arrived, and she's brought along an unfamiliar yet beautiful girl."
Upon hearing this, Ye Junhao's brow furrowed.
"Is my wife still in there?"
"Yes."
"Alright, I understand."
Ye Junhao pushed the door open and entered, not finding Mu Chuchen but instead his mother and Shen Yuyi.
"Daddy."
Ye Mu saw him and immediately wriggled out of Ye Lan's arms, scampering toward his father.
Ye Junhao scooped up his son and approached, casting a glance at a somewhat anxious Shen Yuyi, whom he recognized with a nod before inquiring of his mother, "Mom, where's Chuchen?"
Ye Lan changed the subject, "Jun Hao, do you remember Yuyi? She's Aunt Shen's daughter. You two went to kindergarten, elementary, and high school together. You were the best of childhood friends."
Shen Yuyi chimed in at the right moment, "Jun Hao, hello, it's been a long time."
"Long time no see."
Ye Junhao was noticeably distant with Shen Yuyi. Unable to get information about Chuchen from his mother, he turned to his son, "Mu, where's Mom?"
Ye Mu pointed toward the tea room.
Without delay, Ye Junhao carried his son into the tea room and found Mu Chuchen preparing tea. Upon his entrance, Mu Chuchen turned and flashed him a radiant smile, instantly dispelling any irritation Ye Junhao felt upon seeing Shen Yuyi.
"Mu has had his milk. I mixed it for him, and he even said 'thank you, Mom.' Jun Hao, you've raised Mu very well."
"Jun Hao, you must be thirsty. Let me get you a glass of water. Lay off the coffee; too much can mess with your sleep."
Ye Junhao hummed in acknowledgment, watching as she fetched a glass and poured him some warm water, then resumed preparing tea.
"Did Mom ask you to make tea?"
"Yes."
"Mom doesn't like tea," Ye Junhao remarked in a low tone. "There's no need to make more."
His mother was deliberately making things difficult for her.
"Mother instructed me to do it, so I will finish it."
Ye Junhao fell silent.
"Jun Hao, Mom mentioned that Miss Shen was your childhood friend."
"That was in the past."
"Oh, I understand now."
Ye Junhao had the urge to tell her she understood nothing.
Before he met her, Shen Yuyi was his world. But then Yuyi left him without a word, causing deep hurt, until he met her and his wounds began to heal.
"Mom wants Miss Shen to take my place."
Ye Junhao remained quiet.
After brewing the tea, Mu Chuchen turned to face Ye Junhao and, after a moment, declared assertively, "Ye Junhao, you are my man, and I refuse to share you with anyone else."
The phrase "you are my man" brought a slight smile to Ye Junhao's lips.
"Put Mu down."
"What for?"
"Just put him down."
Ye Junhao couldn't resist Mu Chuchen when she cooed at him in that soft, sweet voice—it brought back memories of last night's passion and melted his resolve.
She was a natural seductress.
Bending over, Ye Junhao set his son down.
The little one looked up at his father, confusion written all over his face. He wrapped his chubby hands around his father's legs, calling out, "Daddy, daddy."
Mu Chuchen stepped closer, stood on her tiptoes, and bit Ye Junhao's face.
Ye Junhao winced and muttered, "Mu Chuchen, what are you, a dog?"
So she had him put down their son just to bite him.
"This is my mark."
Mu Chuchen was utterly content.
Ye Junhao suddenly felt the pain on his face subside.
