C20 Jinxiu Pavilion!

The next day greeted Hsu Yunxiao with brilliant sunshine. She drove her new car to work, her hands practically glued to the steering wheel, her mood soaring. She had once considered upgrading to a more luxurious Audi A4, which would have been more than enough to satisfy her. After all, she managed a company, but it was a family business, and she was not the owner.

Now, sitting behind the wheel of a car worth over a million yuan, she couldn't help but feel elated.

She hadn't been on the road long when her phone rang. It was Lee Cuilan.

"Yunxiao, Grandma has called for a family meeting tonight. Make sure you come home early from work," her mother informed her.

"A family meeting? Isn't that supposed to be an annual event? Why are we having one now?" Hsu Yunxiao asked, puzzled.

The Hsu family had a tradition of annual performance reviews, where rewards or punishments were doled out based on how well each family member managed their respective businesses. Poor performance could even lead to losing one's share of the family wealth. Yunxiao's own father had been relegated to the status of a 'layabout' due to his mismanagement.

It was only as she grew up that her branch of the family began to regain some standing within the clan.

"Don't worry about it. Just think, you can show up in your new car. It'll give those who look down on us—like your big uncle and Second Uncle—a chance to see just how capable my daughter is," Lee Cuilan said with pride.

"Mom!" Hsu Yunxiao protested, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. She knew the car wasn't a testament to her own abilities; it was a gift from Qin Feng.

Speaking of Qin Feng, she decided to give him a call. "Qin Feng, pick up a new outfit for tonight's family meeting. And do you have enough money? I haven't given you your allowance this month. I'll transfer some to you later..." She started to say six hundred yuan, as usual, but the thought of giving such a small sum when she was driving a car he had given her felt too embarrassing. She awkwardly corrected herself, "I'll transfer... some."

"There's no need, I have money," Qin Feng replied with a chuckle.

"How much could you possibly have? Just let me do this," Hsu Yunxiao insisted before ending the call.

Shortly after, Qin Feng received a text message and saw an additional three thousand yuan in his account—five times what he usually received. He was moved. "My wife is so kind!" He knew the company had just come through a crisis and that she didn't have much spare cash. Three thousand yuan was quite generous.

Stowing his phone, a cold smirk crossed Qin Feng's deep-set eyes. "Rushing to have a family meeting now? There must be some scheme afoot..."

He continued on his electric scooter to Wanfu Restaurant. Qin Feng had previously arranged with Wai Yunxiang to set up an office there for everyday work, including tasks for Vast Company, to avoid being too recognizable at the company's headquarters.

At that moment, a crowd had gathered around an elevator at Wanfu Restaurant, all waiting for something. Qin Feng noticed Chiang Yuexin among them and asked, "What's going on?"

Chiang Yuexin, who saw Qin Feng as nothing more than a deadbeat, scoffed and ignored him. Despite his help in securing her a spot as the star singer for the "Seven Emotions of Love" event, she now believed that her success had little to do with him, especially since Wanfu Restaurant had changed owners. She deeply regretted her promise to him.

"Chiang Yuexin, you haven't forgotten what you promised me yesterday, have you?" Qin Feng prodded when he noticed her reaction.

"I... Of course not!" Chiang Yuexin replied coldly. "But I can only fulfill your request after the 'Seven Emotions of Love' event is over."

She had her plan: agree now, and once the event was over, she'd find a wealthy suitor and Qin Feng wouldn't dare come after her.

"Fine, I'll go get ready with some candles, whips, ropes, and the like," Qin Feng said with a teasing laugh.

"You're disgusting!" Chiang Yuexin snapped, her face flushed with anger.

Qin Feng sneered to himself. He had never been interested in her in that way; he had helped her because she was an old classmate and his wife enjoyed her music. If she was trying to set him up, he couldn't be blamed for playing along.

"So, what's all the commotion here?" he asked again.

Chiang Yuexin rolled her eyes. "You really don't know? Lo Hongyan, the queen of music, is here. We're all her fans!"

"Exactly. If I can just catch a glimpse of Lo Hongyan, I'll have no regrets left in this life!" exclaimed a chubby fan, wiping away tears of excitement.

Another ardent fan began chanting near the elevator, "Hongyan, Hongyan, I love you! Just like a mouse loves rice!" The chant continued until security escorted him away, but even as he was dragged off, he kept shouting, "Hongyan, I love you!"

Qin Feng felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him as he witnessed the scene before him. Lo Hongyan's popularity was undeniable, and it suddenly made perfect sense to him. Chiang Yuexin, though a rising star, was overshadowed here; everyone's eyes were for Lo Hongyan alone. Even Yuexin had become a fan, confirming that Lo Hongyan's fame was no fluke.

"Pardon me, coming through..." Qin Feng weaved his way through the throng of admirers and finally arrived at the elevator.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Chiang Yuexin called out to him.

"What's the issue?" Qin Feng asked, genuinely puzzled.

"Are you out of your mind? You can't just hop on this elevator!" Chiang Yuexin exclaimed, "This one leads to the Embroidered Pavilion!"

The Wanfu Restaurant was known for its variety of leisure and entertainment options, necessitating distinct elevators for different areas. The Embroidered Pavilion, situated on the 22nd floor, was a haven for the elite.

"I'm well aware! I'm heading to the Embroidered Pavilion," Qin Feng replied.

"You? Into the Embroidered Pavilion? Have you lost your senses? It's one of Wanfu Restaurant's most exclusive venues, reserved for celebrities. You need at least a gold membership card to access the elevator. For a son-in-law like you to even think of going up there is laughable!"

"Or perhaps you're just clueless about the rules here?" Chiang Yuexin sneered, arms folded.

But to her astonishment, Qin Feng didn't even acknowledge her mockery. He simply swiped his card and stepped into the elevator.

Chiang Yuexin's mouth fell open in disbelief. What was happening? Wasn't the elevator supposed to be accessible only to those with gold cards or higher? How on earth did he manage to open it? Could it be that he really had some connection with Wanfu Restaurant? Reflecting on her earlier behavior, she was filled with regret and concern.

Inside the elevator, Qin Feng received a text from Chiang Yuexin: "Qin Feng, I apologize for my earlier behavior. Rest assured, once the Love Festival is over, I'll make sure to 'repay' you properly!"

With a smirk of contempt, Qin Feng deleted the message.

Ding dong! The elevator arrived at its destination.

The receptionist at the Embroidered Pavilion greeted him with deference, "Good day, sir. How may I assist you?"

"Where can I find Lo Hongyan?" Qin Feng inquired.

His visit today was specifically to see Lo Hongyan. Jiaang Zhongtian had informed him that she had fallen seriously ill and could no longer sing. Despite consulting numerous renowned international doctors, her condition remained unchanged.

She was a cash cow for the company; it was unthinkable for her to be indisposed. Thus, Qin Feng had requested Jiaang Zhongtian to arrange a meeting with her at the Wanfu Restaurant.
