C6 His stubbornness and her efforts

One month has passed and Anna was trying every possible way to build a special place in Abram's heart. But nothing was a success. At the beginning, she was trying to be Abram's mother, but as the time passed she realized that she has to build a relationship of friendship with him so that he could trust her and open up to her. He could share his problems, his achievements with her that will definitely bring them both closer. So now she is trying her best to develop the friendship between Abram and her. She knows that food is something that can make any person happy. So, she have started making food for Abram. At first he was being stubborn but slowly he got used to it. He doesn't say it but he secretly likes her food. That's the only improvement that happened in a month.

But she also know that it will take time as it is not easy for Abram either to allow some other person in his life just like that. And about Daniel, he was just the same. In fact, he has become colder towards her. He doesn't interact with her that much, gives her short replies and only talks with her when it is needed. Her relationship with Daniel had no improvement in a period of a month.

It was evening time and Daniel came back home tired. He walked straight to his room plopped on his bed. He was so tired to even freshen up but he had to do it. He forced himself towards the bathroom and took a bath. He came out from the shower and changed into his hoodie and pants. He came downstairs for dinner. He sat on the dining chair as the maid was serving him food. He looked in the direction of Abram's room which looked dark. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Miss Mary, where is Abram, did he eat dinner?” Daniel asked the maid. "Sir, Mr. Abram has gone with Mrs. Alves. Since tomorrow is a weekend, she said she wants to spend time with her grandson, so she called you as well to ask you the same." Daniel nodded his head in realization and took out his phone where he saw 5 missed calls from his mother which he could not pick because of a meeting. "Oh okay, thanks for informing me", Daniel said to her.

Meanwhile, Anna were in her room. She already had her dinner so she was watching her favorite comedy series. Daniel and she never have dinner together, so she mostly stay in her room when Daniel comes back home. She yawned and decided to sleep. She switched off the TV and drifted off to sleep.

Next morning Daniel woke up and checked the time. It was 9 am in the morning as it was the weekend so he was at home today. He yawned and got up. After taking shower, he came downstairs in his casuals. He went to the kitchen and saw Anna there making Breakfast. She turned around and looked at him. He gave her a quick glance and then walked to get a glass of water. Then he noticed something. "Miss Mary, where are all the chefs? "Daniel called Mary. "Sir, all the chefs are on leave today", "So what about breakfast today?" "Sir, since there is no one to cook, Miss Anna is taking care of the meals today." Mary said. Daniel looked at Anna. She continued cooking but listening to everything. He rolled his eyes. As he never wanted to eat her food, he acted like a brat once again. "Whatever, I'll pass", he said and took some fruits from the refrigerator. He washed them and went to his room. "Jerk! Let me see how long he can stay hungry." Anna said to herself.

It was now midnight and it was raining heavily outside. Daniel was in his room doing some official work. He turned off his laptop and sighed. He was feeling hungry. He only ate some fruits since morning and now it's been more than 10 hours he has not eaten anything. He tried to order online but due to heavy rains, the delivery was getting delayed so much. He couldn't wait that long. "Ugh. I am so hungry". He got frustrated and came out of his room. He went to the kitchen to find something in the refrigerator to eat when he heard someone. "Feeling Hungry?'", he turned around and saw Anna. She was standing in front of him crossing your arms, smirking at him. I am not hungry", he said, acting cool but suddenly his stomach grumbled. She chuckled. "Your stomach is saying otherwise", he covered his stomach with his arms and looked here and there in embarrassment. "Stop with the act now and eat something. You have not eaten anything since morning."

“I told you I am not hungry okay, you are here for Abram only, stop acting like my wife." he bursted and went towards his room. "THEN STARVE YOURSELF!" she yelled. Daniel heard her and shut the door. "He is so ungracious huh," she said and put the food on the plate for herself. She put the plate on the dining table and sat on the chair. She finished eating and put the plate in the basin. She turned around to walk to her room but stopped. She were contemplating whether she should do it or not. She knows that Daniel is rude and cold but her inner self was not allowing her to let him starve like that. "Ugh, I don’t know why I am doing this", she decided and prepared a plate of food for Daniel. She also stick a note on the side. She was now standing outside his room. "I have done my part, now it's your choice whether to eat or not", she said and knocked on the door. She put the plate outside and went to her room.

Daniel opened the door and furrowed his eyebrows when he saw no one. He was about to close the door but then he looked down and saw the plate full of different meals. He bent down and picked it. Then he saw a note. He read it: "Stop acting like a stubborn kid for a change and eat this. I don't want to throw away the food either. Better utilize it" He scoffed. He was about to put it back outside but the smell of food was tempting him so much. As he was already starving, it was even harder for him to ignore it. "Ugh, fuck it", he said and took the plate with him inside. She was watching everything from her room hiding. She let out a breath in relief that finally he's gotta eat something. Daniel sat down and took the first bite. He was surprised at how delicious the food actually is. Honestly for him, it was better than the food usually made by the cooks. He actually liked your food. He was starving so much that he ate so quickly. He finished eating and put the plate outside. His mood was now happy as his stomach was full and now he could sleep peacefully.

Anna thought of making pancakes as it is already morning now and made her way to the kitchen. She was making pancakes for breakfast. She just finished cooking when she saw Daniel came from his room, ready to go for work. He looked at her but today his stare was different from usual. He was looking at you much softly than usual. "Umm, thank you for the food last night", he said while scratching the back of his neck, not even looking at her. She looked at him surprised. “Did he just say ‘thank you' to me?” she thought "No worries, I didn't want to waste the remaining food, so it was better utilized." she said teasingly and shrugged her shoulders, smiling lightly. Daniel rolled his eyes, not in irritation but playfully this time.

"What have you made for breakfast?" Daniel asked her hesitantly. She looked at him surprised as it was the first time he asked her something like this otherwise he never even looks at the food made by her.

“I have made pancakes, please sit I'll serve you", Daniel and follow her instructions like a toddler. He sat and patiently waited for the food. She served him pancakes. He tasted it and he was amazed at how delicious the pancakes "Mmm... its delicious", Daniel said excitedly. She chuckled at his reaction. She remembered Mrs. Alves once said that Daniel is a foodie. He is indeed.

He becomes like a child when it comes to delicious food and he indeed was looking like a child enjoying his food. "Eat slowly, otherwise you might choke", she warned him. Daniel looked at her with his mouth full and nodded like a child. She didn't realize a smile automatically crept on her face. Daniel finished eating and put the plate in the basin.

"Umm... Il want to talk to you about something", Daniel said. She turned around and looked at him. "Today Abram has participated in the event and the parents or guardians are invited. I won't be able to attend because of my work commitment and same for Mom as she is also busy today.

She has already dropped him to school. So, if you are free, can you please attend the event to support Abram? He will be really happy. It will also really boost him that someone has come to support him. Can you do it?"

She was surprised. "Oh! Me? Of course I would love to. I'll attend it and cheer for Abram", she said excitedly. "Okay great then, the event is at 11am, reach on time", Daniel said and smiled into a thin line. She nodded.

“I’ll get going now", Daniel said and left for work. She was so happy and excited at the same time to be there for Abram. It would be a great opportunity for her to get close to Abram and also win his trust.

She got ready and left. She reached the school and went towards the auditorium where the event was going to take place. She took a seat, getting all happy and excited to finally be able to see Abram performing in front of her and cheer for him. Suddenly her phone rang. She picked it up. "Hello?" As soon as the person replied, her smile dropped. She widened her eyes. "What? I am coming as soon as possible", she said panicking and ran hurriedly from there immediately, leaving Abram alone, again.
