C9 I Truly Loved You at That Time
Mu Chengyang looked me up and down with disdain and said, "Already married, huh? Not much of a catch anymore."
His words made my blood boil. I clenched my fists, my face turning pale with anger, and decided to walk away. I replied coldly, "Then let's not waste your time."
Just as I was about to leave the room, Mu Chengyang asked, "Are you really not going to help him anymore?"
I stopped in my tracks and glanced back at him. He stood up from the lounge chair, spreading his arms casually. "Help me get dressed, and maybe I'll reconsider."
Despite my reluctance, Mu Chengyang was offering a chance. For the sake of Muh Linfeng, I approached him. I carefully helped him into his pants, while he watched me with an amused, mischievous smile. "So, is the guy you're with now better at making you happy? Or does he make you scream louder?"
His inappropriate tone disgusted me, but I continued my task. Mu Chengyang pressed his hand firmly against mine. "Or is it that he doesn't understand your needs like I do? Doesn't know how much force to use?"
I felt nauseated and didn't want to engage with him. Seeing my lack of response, Mu Chengyang grasped my chin and said, "Doesn't seem like you're living the high life now. Is your nightlife not exciting enough?"
I've been married for three years now, and while those taunting words still sting, I endure them for Linfeng's sake. I finally managed to dress Chengyang, hoping the humiliation would end there. But as I helped him with his shirt, he grabbed my hand and mocked, "I never thought you'd stoop so low for a man, Ximo. Have you really turned over a new leaf?" His voice dripped with disdain.
Feeling both ashamed and angry, I retorted, "Chengyang, I'm not the kind of woman who flits from one man to another. It's always been like this, even with you. Back then, you were the only man in my life!"
Chengyang laughed, but this time it wasn't a cold or mocking laugh; it was genuine and carefree. Only after the words left my mouth did I realize my mistake, and I ran out, overwhelmed with embarrassment.
A voice in my head asked, "Aren't you afraid of going to hell for this?" But what I didn't know was that as Chengyang watched me leave, a smile played on his lips.
I dashed out of the hotel, my heart a mix of anger and anxiety, unsure if Chengyang would follow or how to face Linfeng. As the sky darkened, I hesitated but eventually made my way home. The moment I stepped inside, I saw Linfeng on the phone.
I waited quietly for Muh Linfeng to finish his call, planning to tell him I wasn't sure if Mu Chengyang would come to the gathering. But before I could say anything, Muh Linfeng hung up, overjoyed, and grabbed my hand. "Ximo, you're truly amazing! You always manage to get things done. Mu Chengyang agreed!"
I was a bit surprised. I didn't expect Mu Chengyang to say yes.
Muh Linfeng looked me over and whispered in my ear, "Ximo, this is a rare opportunity for me. You have to make sure to welcome him properly. Dress up and look stunning."
His words puzzled me. I asked, "Honey, I'm just going to be there to support you. Do I really need to dress up? I'm not sure what you mean by that."
