C3 CHAPTER 3: GRAB SOME COFFEE

As they were an unlikely pair, with very different personalities and approaches to their work, but they had developed some working relationship.

In the exhausted day, Detective Lee asked Attorney Yuna to have some coffee at the café. Attorney Yuna hesitated for a moment but then agree.

As they sat in the quiet café, sipping their coffee, Detective Lee suddenly leaned forward and whispered, "I think I've figured it out. The mystery of us."

Yuna raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"The crimes we've been investigating, they all seem to be connected in some way."

Yuna leaned in closer. "Who?"

"I can't say for sure yet," Detective Lee replied. "But I have a feeling that it's someone we both know. Someone who's been playing us for fools this whole time."

"Come on Detective Lee, be serious. You don't know the future so don't playing around like you know everything." said Yuna in a sarcastic way.

Detective Lee sipped on his coffee, taking a moment to savor the rich flavor before setting the cup down on the table.

Why did you choose to be an attorney?" Lee asked, curious about the woman sitting before him.

Yuna smiled slightly, taking a sip of his own coffee before answering. "Well, I suppose it all started when I was a young girl. My parents were both lawyers, and they often talked about their work at the dinner table. I found it all very interesting and was always asking them questions."

Lee nodded, understanding. "So you wanted to follow in their footsteps?"

"Yes, that's part of it," Yuna agreed. "But more than that, I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to be powerful."

Lee raised an eyebrow. "And do you feel like you've accomplished that?"

"Can you just stop asking! Just mind your own life."

Lee took a moment to consider his attitude, "Then let me tell my own story of life."

"I think it all started when I was in college. I have a lover back then, she was killed in a drive-by shooting, and the police were never able to solve the case. It was frustrating, knowing that someone out there had taken the life of someone I cared about, and they were getting away with it."

Yuna nodded sympathetically. "I can understand that."

"After that, I decided I wanted to do something to help bring justice," Lee continued. "So I became a detective."

Yuna nodded, and they got up from the table, ready to tackle whatever challenge lay ahead.

"I think you need some rest for what tomorrow may come. I'll get you home" Detective Lee insisted.

As they made their way through the streets, Lee and Yuna discussed the case, trying to come up with a plan of action. They were both skilled at what they did, but this case was proving to be particularly tricky.

Detective Lee and Attorney Yuna walked briskly through the crowded streets.

They walked in silence for a while, both lost in their own thoughts. As they approached the corner where they would have to part ways, Lee turned to Yuna and said, "Be careful out there, Yuna. I know that this case is dangerous."

Yuna nodded, feeling a sudden twinge of fear. "I will," she said. "You be careful too, Lee."

They parted ways, and Yuna walked briskly towards her apartment. She was tired and eager to get home, but she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following her.

She quickened her pace, glancing over her shoulder every few seconds. But she couldn't see anyone. Maybe it was just her imagination.

But as she turned the corner onto her street, she saw a shadowy figure duck behind a parked car. She stopped in her tracks, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Who's there?" she called out, her voice shaking.

No one answered. She took a step forward, and the figure darted out from behind the car, running towards her.

She screamed and took off in the opposite direction, running as fast as she could. But she could hear his footsteps behind her, getting closer and closer.

Just as she thought he was going to catch her, she felt a sudden jolt of pain in her side and stumbled to the ground.

"Yuna, what's going on? Are you okay?"

"Detective Lee? Why are you following me? Are you crazy!" Yuna said with anger, as she thought that Detective Lee was following her.

"I don't know," Yuna snapped. "But a while ago I feel like I'm being watched."

Lee tried to calm her down. "Look, Attorney Yuna, I promise I haven't been following you. Maybe you're just under a lot of stress from the case."

But Yuna wasn't convinced. "I don't believe you. Then tell me, why are you here?"

"I want to make sure that you will get home safe, so I tried to find you. Way to your apartment."

"I understand your concerns, Detective Lee," Yuna said, trying to keep his voice level. "But I can fight for myself."

Lee hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded. "Okay. But you need to be careful, Detective Yuna. There are some dangerous people involved in this case."

Yuna sighed, her anger dissipating. "I'm sorry for accusing you. I've just been on edge lately."

As Yuna walked away, Lee couldn't shake the feeling that something was still off. He decided to do some digging of his own, to see if who's that guy that she said that following her.
