C100 The Rumors of Yuejun

"Of course, by now, everyone in the upper ranks of Grass Village is aware of Yuejun's sudden emergence at the magnates' meeting, where he defeated the swordsmanship master, Kawabata Nozomu. That's the foremost disciple of the Sword God, Chidzuru Koichi. That battle alone has significantly elevated our village's standing. The magnates are taking us much more seriously now."

Jin Cou spoke with unabashed admiration when Yuejun's name came up.

This was insider information, typically shared among the higher-ups, and he had only learned of it by chance.

"They say Yuejun is around our age, yet he's already capable of defeating a figure like Master Kawabata. It's a mystery how he trained to achieve such power. Surely, he must be at least an Elite Ninja by now!"

Guan Shang murmured, his voice tinged with awe as he pondered the various tales surrounding Yuejun.

"An Elite Ninja, and he's about our age!"

This revelation left everyone stunned into silence.

The previously vibrant atmosphere was now eerily still.

"Indeed, the rumors about Yuejun are shrouded in secrecy, likely due to confidentiality protocols. Even I am only aware of his existence. Currently, in Grass Village, Yuejun is held in the highest esteem, second only to Lord Grass Kage. Some even say he surpasses Lord Grass Kage in strength!"

Gong Lizi whispered, her eyes betraying her astonishment.

"Considering even Lord Grass Kage might not be a match for Master Kawabata Nozomu!"

"Lord Grass Kage couldn't defeat Master Kawabata Nozomu, but Yuejun did?"

This statement left the group in contemplative silence once more.

The implication was clear, and knowing it only deepened their amazement.

In the Ninja World, strength is the ultimate currency, particularly in a small nation like Grass Country.

Strength reigns supreme!

"Let's not dwell on it. Yuejun is a figure beyond our reach. Guan Shang, Jin Cou, Jin Mengzi, there's no reason for you to lose heart."

Gong Lizi intervened to lighten the mood.

She turned her gaze to Guan Shang.

"Guan Shang, your talent is exceptional. Don't squander it. Apply yourself in your studies; the sky's the limit for your future."

Then her gaze shifted to Jin Cou.

"Jin Cou, your talent is exceptional. You may even surpass Guan Shang in that regard, but you mustn't let emotions hold you back. Otherwise, you'll never become an unparalleled warrior."

Next, she addressed Jin Mengzi.

"Jin Mengzi, I recommend you pursue a path as a medical ninja, focusing on support and healing. Together with Guan Shang and Jin Cou, you could form a formidable team. I have high hopes for you."

Gong Lizi offered praise to each of them. Upon hearing her words, the trio nodded slightly, their spirits visibly lifted.

The onlookers nodded in agreement.

A legendary figure like Yuejun was out of their league, but Gong Lizi and the other two were part of their world. They were the ones who represented hope.

Yang Ming, however, was completely overlooked by all.

Rooted at the bottom of his class, he was destined to be nothing more than a weakling post-graduation, unworthy of sympathy.

Besides, with his grades, his graduation was anything but certain.

Eventually, the gathering continued with feasting and drinking until the early hours of the morning, when people finally started to leave.

"Gekka, may I visit your home?" Jin Mengzi asked Yang Ming, a blush of shyness on her face.

Her question, posed in the dead of night, carried an unspoken implication.

"Mengzi!" Jin Cou barked, fixing Yang Ming with an icy stare that seemed ready to strike.

Jin Mengzi was his sister, and Yang Ming had the audacity to lead her astray!

She was meant to find a strong partner in the future, not someone worthless like Yang Ming!

"Hold on, Gekka, did you say you bought a house? Where?" Guan Shang interjected, his curiosity piqued as he turned to Yang Ming with astonishment.
