C2 I Felt a Powerful Chakra

Yang Ming murmured under his breath.

The Ninja World was a place of unparalleled cruelty, teeming with pirates, bandits, and robbers. To these ruthless figures, ordinary people, defenseless as they were, were no more significant than pigs and dogs—easily slaughtered, their lives worth next to nothing.

Human life was trivial, as disposable as weeds, and all beings were but ants.

"I must first gain the ability to defend myself. Without it, I can't even establish a foothold, much less achieve the things I aspire to do!"

As a devoted fan of the Hokage, Yang Ming had many ambitions.

But first, he needed to ensure his survival in this harsh world.

He settled into a cross-legged position beneath a tree, following the system's instructions to meditate for a full day and night.

Meanwhile, at the orphanage, the testing came to a swift conclusion, leaving a mix of joy, disappointment, and despair among the children—a microcosm of humanity's varied experiences.

"Alright, the testing is complete. Out of one hundred fifty-six, one hundred have qualified. The remaining fifty-six will suffice. They may not cut it as Ninjas, but they'll do for support roles," Gong Lizi, the head of the orphanage, declared.

She then gave an approving nod to two robust children standing before her.

"Guan Shang, Jin Cou, you two are the only ones among them who can feel the Chakra. Such talent is rare; you're truly gifted. From this moment, you are their leaders—they will follow your command. Starting tomorrow, I will select a few of you to attend the Ninja School to acquire the necessary skills and swiftly become Ninjas who will contribute to our village."

"Yes, Principal!" they responded, their expressions composed, a maturity beyond their years evident in their demeanor as they nodded in agreement.

Gong Lizi nodded back, extremely pleased with their response. As for Yang Ming, who had left, she gave him no second thought.

Let him leave; it was one less mouth to feed at the orphanage.

She then subtly acknowledged someone lurking in the shadows with a nod.

A dark figure reciprocated the gesture before vanishing into the night.

Outside the orphanage, a middle-aged man knelt reverently before an elder, his voice filled with utmost respect.

"Sir, the testing is concluded. This time, we have identified two individuals with promising talent."

"Just the two of us? It's such a shame. Grass Village is wedged between two nations, constantly facing oppression, leading to a dwindling of our talent pool. Still, having two is better than none at all!"

Upon hearing this, the elderly man's eyes brimmed with profound disappointment. Shaking his head, he turned and walked away.

Anyone witnessing the pair at that moment would surely have gasped in astonishment. For these were no ordinary individuals; they were the current Grass Kage, Masanori Falcon, and his premier disciple, Mizushiro Tsubasa—a man of esteemed status and revered identity.

They had come to the orphanage with the intent to gauge the potential of the children there. Alas, not one child met their high standards, not even the two prodigies handpicked by Gong Lizi.

"After a full day of observation, not a single orphan has caught my eye," lamented the old man, ready to depart.

The two had scoured the place, searching in vain for someone who could meet their exacting criteria. With a collective sigh, Mizushiro Tsubasa and the elder retraced their steps, passing a large tree along the way.

From a distance, they noticed someone seated in meditation beneath the tree—a child, no more than five years old.

The pair paused briefly, then dismissed the sight and moved on. After all, it was just a child—hardly a cause for excitement.

"Eh?"

But as they strode past Yang Ming, on the verge of leaving, the old man caught a glimpse of something extraordinary.

"Sir, what is it?" inquired Mizushiro Tsubasa, puzzled.

"I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but I sense an immense Chakra!" The old man's face grew serious. As an Elite Ninja, his sensory abilities were exceptional, and he quickly detected the anomaly, his gaze fixed on Yang Ming.
