C15 The Agreed Time is Up

"Miss Shen, according to the results of the examination, the inner wall of your uterus is very thin. An abortion can cause a uterine rupture and heavy bleeding. The consequences can range from being unable to have children again to losing your life; therefore, we do not recommend getting an abortion.

Hearing this, Shen Qi frowned. Han Xueyuv, who was beside her, asked the doctor again for confirmation, "She can't get an abortion?"​

"Yes, we do not recommend it," the doctor said with a sigh. "Please think about it again."

Once they left the hospital, Han Xueyuv asked Shen Qi, "What are you going to do if you can't get an abortion? Gosh, how can there be such an annoying situation!"

"I don't know."

"I'll send you back first."

Shen Qi nodded and then shook her head. "Drive me to the company."

When they arrived at the Ye's Group, Han Xueyuv said, "You go first. I'll go back and contact other doctors to see what they say."

"Thank you, Xueyuv. Then, I'll be going."

Because she was here before, the front desk recognized Shen Qi, so they let her in. Shen Qi took the elevator to the top floor and walked toward the director's office.

The office door was slightly opened. Shen Qi raised her hand to knock but stopped when she heard the conversation inside.

"Last time, I asked you to find her, but you brought that woman instead. This time, you brought me a mother. Xiao Su, have I been going too easy on you, or are you just unable to use your brain?"

Ye Moxuan sat behind his desk, his slender fingers lightly tapping the desktop. His eyes were shining with anger, and his body emitted a terrifying aura.

Xiao Su stood in front of the desk while Ye Moxuan reprimanded him. His head bowed low like a sad puppy drooping its head.

Seeing this, Shen Qi subconsciously hid behind the door.

"Young Master Ye, I'm not doing this on purpose. It's just that you didn't give me enough information, so I didn't let go of anyone who could be a possibility." Xiao Su felt wronged. "Yes!" Xiao Su was praying that Ye Moxuan would hurry up and tell him to get lost. He didn't want to stay in this freezing cold office any longer.

After Xiao Su came out, he closed the office door and turned around to see Shen Qi standing by the wall.

Xiao Su immediately pulled her into a corner and whispered, "Do you want to die? How dare you eavesdrop into our conversation?"

Shen Qi shook her head and replied, "I just happened to come over and heard you guys talking. But who is this person he's looking for?"

Xiao Su narrowed his eyes at her question. "Miss Shen, don't ask about something you shouldn't ask. You're only a substitute for your sister, so technically, you're not even Young Master Ye's wife. Do not meddle into Young Master Ye's business. Otherwise, you won't be able to be the Young Madam for long."​

Hearing Xiao Su's direct words, Shen Qi lowered her eyes in embarrassment. "I know."

Seeing her mood go down, Xiao Su realized his words were a bit harsh. "I know what I said was harsh, but I'm sure Miss Shen understands, right? Anyways, do not ever mention what you heard today. Otherwise, even I won't be able to save you." With that said, Xiao Su turned around and left quickly.

Shen Qi stood in the corner and waited five minutes before she walked over to the office again and knocked on the door.​

"Come in." Ye Moxuan's voice was cold and indifferent with a hint of anger.

Shen Qi hesitated for a moment and then pushed the office door open and walked in.

Ye Moxuan was not sitting behind his desk this time. Instead, he sat in front of the French window with his back to her.

Silence filled the room. When Ye Moxuan realized the person would not speak, he frowned and turned his wheelchair around.

And he saw Shen Qi's pale and sickly face.

Ye Moxuan frowned. "What are you doing here?"

Shen Qi raised her head and looked into his eyes. "I-I am your assistant."

Ye Moxuan smirked with disdain. He glanced at her flat stomach and felt irritated again.

He tugged his tie and asked coldly, "What are you going to do about the child?"

Shen Qi's face turned white when he heard him mention the child and clenched her fist from nervousness.

"Not going to say anything? Are you planning to keep him?"

Recalling the doctor's words, Shen Qi mustered up the courage to look at him and ask, "Can you give me a few more days-"

"No!" Ye Moxuan rejected without giving her a chance to finish. His coldness caused the temperature around him to drop. He looked at Shen Qi as if she was a dead person. He opened his mouth and threatened, "In two days, if the child is still here, I'll get rid of it myself."

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

Shen Qi did not abort the child. Han Xueyuv told her to stall Ye Moxuan while she contacts more doctors to find a way for Shen Qi to get an abortion without damaging her body.

But the agreed time was up, and they still couldn't find a way to solve the problem.

That night, Shen Qi paced around in the bedroom. She prayed that Ye Moxuan would not come home, but, of course, her wish did not come true.

The door opened with a creak.

When Ye Moxuan entered the room., he saw the woman in front of him froze in place. His sharp eyes locked onto her and announced, "The time is up."

His voice was calm but cold. His eyes were dark and dangerous as if they belong to a wild beast.

Shen Qi was not good at lying, so she didn't dare look into Ye Moxuan's eyes. She looked away and said softly, "I know. I've already aborted the child."

"Is that so?" Ye Moxuan sneered. The inflection in his tone indicated that he did not believe her.​

Shen Qi was so nervous she started to tremble, her voice became softer. "I-I aborted it."

Then, Shen Qi pulled out a sheet of paper from her pocket, and with trembling hands, handed it to Ye Moxuan. "Here is the abortion receipt."

Ye Moxuan didn't take it.

A sense of unease filled the air.
