C2 CHAPTER 2

John took them to an Indian restaurant where they ate different types of food and snack. John told Cynthia his intention toward her that he wanted her to be his girlfriend who may in turn lead to marriage if she accepts, she was happy but pretended not to like the idea, after much pleading she accepted. They finished what they were doing and John drove them to Cynthia’s house, he dropped them off and gave Cynthia a peck saying, “Goodnight beautiful angel you will receive a text from me when I reach my house,” because you caught my breath with your smile and sexy face, Cynthia I must confess you are very beautiful among beauties in fact you are a dove. Cynthia was happy, she turned and said bye to him, “I need to go home now, and it’s getting late”. He said okay bye but expect my text tonight. Okay, I will.

Comfort said, “wow the guy is so romantic everything about him is getting me crazy because I like him and am happy for you,” and by the way you deserve him because u are truly beautiful and his lucky to have you. “Please stop all this for once,” Cynthia said. Okay I will but please don’t forget to show me the text because I will be glad to read his text and don’t run mad for him at least you are happy. They hug each other, comfort went her way and Cynthia went into the house.

Cynthia met her father waiting for her by the door step of their house. Where did you went to that took you so long don’t tell me that you have started seeing someone because i won’t be happy, Cynthia said “I was with comfort”. She then ask for her mother he told her that he came home and met her unconscious so he rushed her to the hospital.

Cynthia was shocked, so she asked him what went wrong with her, hope she is okay because i can’t stand the chance of losing my mother. He told her that her mother is fine just that she is in coma and the doctor said she is having kidney disease which affect her kidney that she need a kidney transplant before she will get well. Cynthia started crying but her father asked her not to worry that her mother will be okay. Go inside, eat and bath then you will get ready for bed, she was about to go to bed when her phone rang it was john text she was not ready to read anything but she did, The text goes thus;

“If you see falling stars, don’t wonder why, just make a wish and trust me it will come true cause when i did, i found you, the pretty girl amongst all girls. Ur smile heal every wound and your voice draws every man’s attention .Cynthia if loving u is against the law and loving u is a crime I will be glad to go to prison for your own sake, I love you”.

She smile and went to bed imagine herself close to bed “he is my Mr. right” I will do everything you ask me to do cause my heart is beating for you ,I guess I am losing my sense for you. She kept on imagine things until she slept off

The singing of the morning bird woke her up from sleep, wow it’s another day, the birds are singing and the sky is beautiful but first, i will bath and go to the hospital so that i can see my mum and know about her health. Her daddy drove them to the hospital and went to his office because her mum was admitted in his hospital but a different doctor was taking care of her, Cynthia was shock when she saw her mum, my mum is dying said Cynthia, oh God please help. She cried out and wished she could help her

All attempts to save her mother’s life failed because she didn’t make it after the surgery. Her father wept his life out, he was unconscious for three days before regaining his sense back, Cynthia on her own wept bitterly because she felt the world had come to an end without her mum, her mum was her only source of joy and happiness.

Few months later Cynthia and her dad were able to get over what had happened to them but although not fully forgotten but they had to move on with their life. Cynthia was left to take care of her dad and cousin, Cynthia found it difficult without her mum but that is what the world had for her. Comfort on the other hand was trying her best to help her best friend not to feel the pain of losing her mum. Cynthia you need to take things easy on yourself, your mother is gone and you have no choice than to face reality. I know it’s not easy but you have to face the life challenges as the only child of your parent. Cynthia thanked her friend and promised to be a good girl, her friend left and went home

Life, a bit challenging without his wife because he found it hard to cope with everything cause he felt he had lost it and loneliness will never leave him. Cynthia on the other hand was able to move on with her life, her love with john grew stronger and she couldn’t spend a day without seeing or hearing from him

The truth was that john was play boy who never loved Cynthia but only tried to his bet with his friend. The bet was that whosoever wins her will be the big boy in the group and 20,000,000 will be given to the winner and God helped him make it easy by getting her purse. His entire friends tried but failed and john was able to win her love and make sure she strongly loves him so that they will believe him.

Cynthia has made up her mind to take her virginity herself without telling her friend because her friend will not agree, so she asked John if she could visit him. At first he wanted to dismiss the idea of visit, but when he thought of having an affair with her and his friends know, it will make him very big before them. So he told her to come on Sunday so that his parents won’t know because they will be in church. They agreed on the time she will come and go and he gave her his address and asked her to make sure she kept to time.

John’s parents were planning to engage John to one of his father’s friend’s daughter, but they have not told him and since he had never talked about any girl they thought it’s not yet time and also John’s father knew Cynthia’s father. Cynthia was happy that finally she had found the man that will take her virginity, she told her friend that she will be going somewhere and told her incase her father asks she should cover up for her by saying they went for a church program. Comfort wanted to know where her friend was heading to, but Cynthia said ‘I will tell you when am back’
