C8 I Can't Forgive You!

"Why are you so shocked?" Dahlia sat down across from me, her smile beaming. "We're just fulfilling each other's needs—it's perfectly normal."

For some reason, Wesley flashed through my mind, leaving me at a loss for words. Eventually, I managed to say, "Just be careful, okay?"

"Don't worry, I'll be fine."

I began my stint selling houses at Azure Coast, diving into the job after a week of training.

Half a month went by without closing a single sale.

My frustration mounted, and the grand plans of subtle revenge I harbored were nearly worn away. I almost regretted not just buying a couple of kitchen knives and storming the old house to deal with those three myself.

If I could have taken them out, I wouldn't feel as defeated as I do now, even if it meant lying six feet under.

This life was grinding me down to the point where I was losing the nerve even to buy those knives.

Dahlia found time to show me the ropes of social media, how to build a customer base, and to advertise online. She encouraged me to proactively seek out clients.

Before long, a couple who had seen my online ad reached out to me on WhatsApp. They were newlyweds, and I welcomed them with genuine warmth.

Over the next few days, I dedicated myself to showing them every model and unfinished unit available, but in the end, they preferred the 'Paris Spring' development next door.

Curious, I asked who was behind 'Paris Spring,' and they, perhaps feeling sorry for all my hard work, informed me it was a Jones Group project.

The mention of the Jones Group reignited my fighting spirit. I pressed them for details on their dissatisfaction with our properties.

They mentioned that 'Paris Spring' offered the same layouts for over 2,000 yuan less per square meter. Without a second thought, and eager to undercut the Jones Group, I impulsively offered them a 10% discount and sealed the deal on the spot.

The following day, my impromptu decision came to light. I was hauled in front of a severe critique session, standing before the company executives, enduring a barrage of insults for well over an hour.

Exiting the conference room, the click of Rowena's high heels echoed behind me.

The reprimand barely fazed me, but Rowena had been scolded too, and I knew it must have stung.

Feeling remorseful, I turned to her and bowed in apology, "I'm sorry, Director. I..."

Her slap spun my face halfway around.

It felt like millions of flies were buzzing in my head.

"So this is how you conduct yourself? Strutting around after stabbing someone with a knife, thinking you're untouchable? If you're so fearless, why grovel at our company to sell houses? You should be the star attraction at some entertainment venue!" Rowena's words came at me like rapid-fire.

Pain seared across my cheek, but I dared not shield it, only bowing my head lower and lower. "I'm sorry, Director. I was wrong. It won't happen again."

Rowena sneered, "Think about the future? With your audacity, I can't afford to keep you! Pack your things and get out now!"

Desperation took hold, and I grabbed her hand, bringing it to my face. "I'm sorry, Director. Please, don't be angry. I won't overstep again. Just give me one more chance. Hit me, if it'll help you cool down. As many times as you want!"

Rowena was speechless, clearly unaccustomed to such brazen behavior.

The crowd around us grew.

Unable to save face, Rowena forcefully pushed me away. "You have half a month to sell two properties. Fail, and nobody can save your job!"
