C7 Betrayl

"Why are you warning me Medusa? You don't want rogues to win, do you? "Zion towered over his daughter searching her eyes for a little emotion other than anger directed towards him.

"I don't want rogues to win sir but that doesn't mean I want the attackers to be victorious because for all we know they can be worse than rogues are."

"I will prepare the soldiers. Go and pack your necessities, you are leaving." Medusa's eyes widened at that.

"I am not leaving you dad!" Zion stiffened just as Medusa uttered those words, it has been years since Medusa has called him that. Her own eyes widened with the words that left her mouth.

"W-What?"

"I-I am not leaving you. You need me to fight, we can't win like this."

"Do you not understand the meaning of this? The goddess is warning you to stay away, this is not a war... a ritual is taking place and it will require blood sacrifice of thousands."

"I can use my powers!"

"Your twenty second birthday starts in an hour with the change of day, for Lord's sake don't try to fool me, every year this day your skin burns and sheds. You will leave on your own will or I swear I make you Medusa."

"I won't leave and that's final." She clenched her fists, gritting her teeth, her eyes glaring her father's red irises.

"RHY-"

King Zion's voice halted as screams filled the arena. Loud howls pierced the silence of the forest, thumping of footsteps made the earth shake with it's magnitude.

Medusa tried to move out of the tent only to be stopped by Zion.

ROGUES, it's the time of battle, time to unleash the chaos running deep in your blood, to defeat and acquire the grace of Queen Luna Persephone, to unleash the beast thriving in you to taste blood.

A war they began is the one you have to end.

LUCIEN, LEAD TO THE BATTLE.

King Zion mindlinked his warriors to prepare as he held the wrist of his daughter in a death grip, dragging her to her quarters only to be greeted by Lucien in between.

"Lucien, what are you doing here?" Medusa efforts to free herself deceased as she looked at Lucien pointing a dagger at Zion's chest, his blue eyes cautious and platinum blonde hair covered with an iron armor same as his body, the signature insignia of royal wolves crafted on it.

"I am sorry Medusa." He aimed the sharp, glinting silver weapon towards Zion pulling it back only to strike.

The dagger was snatched from his hand before he could blink, his hand was twisted and a fatal nerve on neck was hit with force, strong enough to knock him out for weeks.

Medusa's pure white snakes hissed with rage as poison and betrayal ran through her veins. Bold black slits between glowing golden orbs appeared instead of her lilac irises.

"HOW DARE HE! NOBODY TOUCHES OUR FATHER AND LIVES" the snakes hissed with venom, the course of air changing, the rage of the princess mixing with it.

"Come back to me babygirl." That voice....that voice was her reality, her anchor to light when all was dark, her happiness and hope, her strength....it was her everything...her Rhysand.

Her body returned to normal and eyes turned back only to watch the horrifying scene unfolding infront of her. Her father had changed into his auburn wolf standing at his twelve feet form ripping off the throats of wolves who try to come near his pup while on the other hand the ground was painted scarlet with blood.

The royal guards were massacring the rogues brutally. It wasn't that they didn't deserve it but such cruelty shook Medusa to the core.

There were bloody organs lying on the ground, slit throats and dead bodies piled like haystack.

"Come with me Medusa." She focused on Rhysand's voice but he was nowhere near.

"I am near the creek, come to me my love." She didn't knew why but she felt he was lying, she could feel his stares right then, following her each step...each movement precisely.

An array of arrows dipped in silver were aimed towards her, making her run back to grab a shield. Blue fire surrounded the path she was following, burning her feet.

Her red cloak was caught in a grip before she could run further...making her look towards the one who dared to stop her in wrath despite the extreme pain burning her skin.

She was going to shed her skin soon.

But her anger dissipated as soon as she realized it was Gaelic- Rhysand's wolf who had her cloak snapped shut in his sharp canines.

Surprisingly the arrows stopped as he gave a monstrous growl which shook the regimes of battlefield.

No he wasn't a werewolf, he was a Lycan. Medusa realized he wasn't an Omega, that wolf possessed too much power even for an alpha to bear.

It was overpowering, flowing through her senses. Lycans were legends from history, there was absolutely no one to challenge their power and authority.....except Medusa, the goddess had granted her enough power to change the course of a gigantic river, to burn ocean with her internal rage.

But right this moment it was impossible, with each passing second her body was falling weak with her vision blurring. On one side Zion fought for her while Gaelic circled her like his prey.

She realized Rhysand was lying all along, she stepped back a little only for him to follow her path and just like that the chase begun.

The black wolf following her was magnificent, raised to the height of thirteen feet, his fur shining while his eyes remained glowing cyan, he loved chasing his mate.

Medusa's vision blurred as she stumbled only to be caught by a hard body.

She screamed as her arms burned, veins popping as a thin layer of skin shredded.

"I am sorry princess." A sharp sting in her neck made the world go all black.

--------------------

She laid on the flower bed in forest, exhausted from her change, glowing cyan eyes watched her sleeping, trying to paint her picture in their heart, he needed to leave her soon, was it fair?

It has never been fair to him but he loved her so much to make her a pawn in his game. He loved his moon.

"MEDUSA!" She woke up to the sound of her father frantically trying to wake her up. Her eyes squinted as the smell of burnt flesh and smoke infiltrated her nostrils.

"Dad?"

"You need to go pup, we have lost the battle, all rogues are dead and the ones which are left are trapped by royalty, your body needs to heal child, go away, they will come searching for us."

"You both need to go." The voice made Zion's eyes harden and fill with disgust. He pulled his daughter closer embracing her in his hold.

"I WILL KILL YOU, YOU BASTARD." Zion spat in revulsion.

"W-What is happening? Dad? Rhy?" Medusa sat up weakly, despite all her body protesting she limped to her mate whose fists clenched and hands itched to hold her close.

Despite all the evidences pointing at Rhysand, Medusa's heart refused to believe that he was a liar, that he deceived her.

"I the commander general of this mission- to wipe out the kingdom of Rogues, banish you and your father. Go away Medusa." Medusa stiffened, her lips parted and heart shattered as she registered his words.

Her own mate wanted her gone, he used her for his own benefit, her body trembled with the agony and sadness washing through her.

"Listen to me Rhy, I will be good to you, I will d-do as y-you say, w-will never b-bother you, please d-dont-"

"Go away Medusa"

"D-dad p-please t-tell him I a-am s-sorry." Her nightmares were coming true.

Zion growled ready to shift in his wolf to end the life of the person who damaged his daughter beyond repair.

Medusa raised her palm stopping him.

"Why?" Her voice cracked.

"Get out of here Medusa" tears streamed down her face, the shock of what was really happening engulfing her soul.

Because I love you he wanted to say as blood dripped down his wounds.

Zion held her hand glaring daggers at Rhysand, disgust and poison evident in his eyes, he turned her around walking away.

Rhysand clenched his jaw, his feet carrying him infront of Medusa swiftly.

He crushed her into his chest, his lips kissing her forehead as she stayed limp. Zion ripped him apart from his daughter.

A moon has fallen....
