C4 Sad News

The sky of the capital today was decorated with rain all day long. Mesya spent her time lying under the blanket in her room. There were no activities at the college. Just a few organizational activities that he was lazy to attend.

Since morning, Mesya had only filled her stomach with two slices of white bread that had been smeared with her favorite chocolate cream plus a cup of warm coffee was enough to swell her stomach.

Still ringing a while ago, when a message from Ilham entered her cellphone.

[Forget what happened last night, or you won't graduate this year]

A short message in the form of a threat could actually make Mesya's brain in a mess. She really wanted to curse her lecturer, but the other side of her heart reminded her not to hold a grudge. She looked at the message again, perhaps she had misread it, but it turned out that everything was clearly written there.

Soon a call came in. The name 'Rama' was written there. "Mey, do you know yet, your sister is in the hospital?" Rama asked as soon as the call was connected.

Mesya who was sleeping immediately woke up and focused on hearing Rama's explanation. "Is that true, Ram?" Mesya asked in surprise.

"Yes, by chance Ardi saw your sister while visiting her mother at the same hospital. Ardi also said it seems your sister was seriously ill." Ardi was their friend in college.

Mesya froze. Suddenly she did not feel well. Mesya recalled that the last time she sent a message with her sister was a week ago, at that time her sister said that she had not been able to send the full lunch money, for reasons that were not clear.

"Mey, are you still there?" Rama asked to make sure.

As if realizing, Mesya immediately answered. "I have to go now."

"Okay, you calm down first, okay. I'll pick you up in a moment." Mesya woke up in a hurry and immediately went to the bathroom to clean up. She felt guilty because she just found out about it from someone else.

Not long after, Rama had come to her boarding house. Mesya was waiting in the front yard so they could leave immediately.

"Come up." Rama handed her a helmet, which Mesya grabbed and put on. The black automatic motorbike drove through the streets of the capital which were not too jammed. Maybe because the rain had just stopped after a long day. Rama and Mesya walked towards the corridor, having previously asked the 'information center' where her sister was being treated.

After finding the door as said, Mesya and Rama did not enter immediately. They overheard her sister's conversation with the doctor and several nurses who were talking about the fees her sister had to pay to treat her illness. "Why don't you come straight in, Mey?" Rama asked spontaneously.

The people inside who were talking, immediately stopped the chat. "Who is that?" a voice from inside asked which was certain to be the voice of her sister, Arlinda Melina, who was usually called Alin. She opened the door slowly. She saw her sister who was lying with a pale face. In her hand was even attached a syringe with a tube that put fluids into her body. Mesya rushed over, hugging her sister with tears. Her tears just rolled down.

Stupidly, she did not know that Alin was being treated at the hospital. "Mey, why are you here?" The 30-year-old woman looked at Mesya who was sobbing. Then her eyes turned to Rama who was watching them.

"Sorry, Sis. I'm the one who told her," Rama said with a strange feeling and thought, was it wrong if he told the story. Should not Mesya have known.

"Oh, nevermind." Alin glanced at her sister again.

"I'm okay, Mesya, why are you so sad?" Alin said calmly. While Mesya looked down reluctantly to look at her sister.

"Why didn't you tell me you were seriously ill?" Alin gasped in surprise and asked, how did her sister know if she was seriously ill.

"You already know?" Alin asked again.

"I don't know what your illness is, but I really want to know," Mesya said in a distinctive voice mixed with tears.

Alin took a deep breath, at least her sister did not know her illness. She did not want to make her only sister feel sad when she found out the truth. "I'm just tired, I'm not sick, I can go home tomorrow," Alin said soothingly. She did not want her sister to be even more sad to see her condition.

"Really, Sis?"

Alin nodded quickly. "Okay, you should go home, I'm fine now. Besides, you didn't go to college today?" Mesya shook her head then explained that today there was only activity.

Mesya was walking around the hospital garden with Rama who accompanied her, when her eyes accidentally saw the doctor who had checked her sister's health. Mesya was curious and immediately ran over to her. "Sorry, Doctor. I want to ask about my sister," Mesya said strictly.

The doctor smiled a little and nodded. "Oh, let's come to my room," the female doctor said, who looked beautiful even though she was no longer young.

Mesya and Rama immediately followed them. "So you don't know about Mrs. Arlinda Melani's illness yet?" Rama and Mesya shook each other slowly, but nevertheless they became more and more curious.

"Please explain, doc," Rama asked immediately.

"Okay, so Mrs. Alinda currently suffering from stage three of uterine cancer. And is currently under our supervision." Mesya and Rama glared in disbelief.

"What? Cancer?"

"Yes, that's true." Cancer was a dangerous disease, but why did her sister never tell her?

Mesya cursed herself again, because she did not know anything. The doctor also explained that Alin had had two surgeries and that time the disease had spread to the intestines and liver. Alin already spent about 250 million on her own. But then, her sister refused to undergo surgery again because she felt everything was in vain. And hoped that her sister would persuade her sister soon. The doctor also explained about the problem of the cost which was not less than 100 million, not to mention the cost for chemotherapy after that.

With unsteady steps, Mesya walked while being supported by Rama. She had just come across such a shocking fact. Mesya felt so sick and even worse she was helpless and did not know what to do. Mesya cried in pain, imagining her sister's illness that she never expected. Then the images in her mind remembered something. Rifki, yes that guy. It seemed that she had to talk to the man who asked her to marry him. Mesya thought to find money so that her sister could recover as usual. Mesya hoped that Rifki was the solution to her problem.

In a high-rise building, Rifki was standing looking straight at the thick glass in front of him which shows a view of the capital's sky covered by clouds. Not much activity and work that he did that day. Only a few files and everything was checked a while ago. Right now, Rifki should go home and spend the evening and night with his family. However, a few minutes ago, his household assistant said that Resha had gone all day and had not returned, so Rifki was still reluctant to return to their palace immediately.

"Sir, is there anything else you need?" his secretary asked respectfully.

Rifki immediately turned around then shook his head slowly. "Nothing. You can go home now, work hours are over."

"Okay, Sir. Then I'll excuse myself."

Rifki nodded.

"See you tomorrow."

Rifki was unmoved again. It was not long before a message came into his cell phone from an unknown person. Actually, Rifki was reluctant to reply to messages from foreign numbers, but when he looked at the screen above, there was Mesya's name. Rifki immediately grabbed his cell phone.

[I'm Mesya, sorry to interrupt, can we meet)

Like a windfall, Rifki immediately contacted Mesya without thinking twice.
